Nor do I want to engage in such activities! ok, then let be more specific , the aftermath caused by explosion or flamethrower, burning and spreading of fire is not in the game, the randomness of fire is not in the game, it was in 1999, 20 years later its not doable?Im not understanding, Im asking why that part of fire is not in the game?Does BF not think its worth the time? is it a business descision on their part or it just cant be done?

It looks like this has already been answered...Once or Thrice ;)

  2. Not sure, but I still think there is an issue where Arty and Direct Fire HE are linked together in some way...

just about every time there is HE Direct Fire (Open or Woods) I always loose a casualty or two at range (50 meters or so from impact). This seems to almost mimic the same as if a single Arty round has falling and causing (around 50 meters from impact).

Now, I know someone mentioned there is a reasoning that a Single Arty HE Shell landing has will cause the same effect as if an Arty Barrage...However, this problem also seems to carry-over for Units firing Single Direct HE Fire.

You know when, during a walk in the countryside, you look at the windows of one house and evaluate the best angle of attack to take it, looking at cover and concealment, and where to place the fire support team...

    AND

You know when your wife rolls her eyes when you explain her your last turn...

Nah, there's nothing wrong with that..

However, you know your playing too much CM when you become complacent and star letting a Freaking NEWBIE (not mentioning names) win more often then not against a Regular Opponent...Sigh :-(

  4. -OR-...That there are other Variables in play that we didn't consider.

Yes, the Troopers Stance was Prone at that exact moment when hit...However, maybe CM assumes he is Prone (or whatever stance) for most of the Action-Cycle (averaging the current and previous stances in same Action-Cycle), and so still a small chance of being hit ?

Thou, if he was prone for more then One-Action Cycle, then that theory just went 'Kaput'...Sigh !

Anyways, just throwing some chit out there for thought :-)

  5. I wonder if, since the Brenda HMG is part of the Heavy Weapons Company, that the 60mm HE is just extra ammo for the 60mm Mortars in the same Heavy Weapons Company (now, this assumes that Italians have such 60mm Heavy Mortars...I'm too lazy to fire-up FI to find out) ?

Of course, if this is the case, then you would think all Nationalities would have extra HE Ammo with the MMG/HMG's, but we know that's not possible...So, I'm with Frenchy, and think it's not supposed to be there.

  6. @RockinHarry

Maybe keeping the Arrows (located above Monitor) might be better then not having them...I say this, because you mentioned that it would be nice to have Friendly Units Blink (for a few secs) if it located an enemy Unit...Keeping the Arrows will solve this problem (since the arrows will come and go as Enemy Units disappear)...And, by using the rest of your 'Realism Mod' you still wont see enemy Icons/Contacts for future reference (FOW).

    Anyways, just Food for Thought...

regarding medic stance. I´d like to add when a buddy aiding pixeltrooper is just about to grab some weapon and ammo from an otherwise KIA pixeltrooper, the same animation is  applied in those cases as well. Haven´t checked on "grab" vs "medic" ratio in the game, but at average I´d like to rather have my buddy aides do this in a less suicidal manner, whatever the particular case.

Don´t know about BFC actual simulation of incapacitating wounds in the game. There´s  likey hundreds of different wound types in RL that apply to a soldier as beeing treated "incapacitated". So there as well would be quite a number of treatment methods if it just comes to stounching a wound by the means of a normal single soldiers first aid kit. (reminding that our "medic in the game is not a true combat medic, having other, better means to his avail usually). Then there´s also possible cases when a games WIA could possibly be just unconscious and otherwise not that heavily wounded as presumed. But for the games purpose this  could be just another possible case for assigning a WIA/incapacitated state. Generally I´d take the games buddy aiding procedure as just applying most important, rather crude means to prepare a WIA for follow up evacuation (handled invisibly, when the WIA magically vanishes from the BF). Same for "just grabbing/looting type" medic. The KIA can be presumed still present. He´s just not available for the grab weapon procedure anymore, thus vanishes as well.

Game tactical considerations: How oftenly did I ordered infantry units to hide mode to keep them more or less safe from enemy spotting and fire . Then there´s that single WIA/KIA, maybe not even member of the unit, that gets a random unit´s guy starting buddy aid. That got me yelling "Boy... not now! He´s dead! And we have enough ammo loads yet!" or "...just drag him back from that window somewhat and keep head down! There´s enemy unit in house just across the street!"... but no, the dumb guy pops up to kneel, promptly getting spotted by the nearby enemy and hell unleashes on the otherwise hidden unit.

If one likes it, off course one can take it as additional fubar´ed situation for adding "flavor" to the game. Personally I can well get along without that extra sort of flavor. :P

    + 1 or 3 ;)

  8. @Heirloom_Tomato, I downloaded them all, but haven't played them yet (will probably do at some point)...Now, and to take off any pressure, I think it's best if you come out with these type of Scenario's once a Month (beginning or end). This will give you time to spend with Family, Work, and other Projects, and players will still have something to look forward to when that Scenario comes out.

    Just a Friendly Suggestion :-)

    1. squad deployed, then rushed toward Sextons house when a burst of machine gun fire hit into their midst. Enemy shooter unknown. One guy fell and guess who it was? Staff sergeant Kunick, the +1 leader of 1. Squad. :P So this was my first loss in the game.

Thou, don't you have to loose both the, Squad Leader (2 star), and the 2nd in Command, Corporal (1 star), before you end up getting a Negative Leadership Modifier...So, if you still have your Corporal, then you retain that +1 Leadership ?

No, IMO, not gamey.  It is part of my SOP during the setup phase.  Since in the setup phase you can freely move troops in and out of vehicles as many times as necessary.   I wish that being loaded down with ammo was more noticeable in the troops movement & fitness.

I also assign target arcs and sometimes pre-split the squads.  I then cross load them so they don’t recombine.  This also prevents the squads from redistributing ammo among teams. Example: A platoon has three squads that in turn have three teams. Unload squads & split into teams. B teams get back in same vehicles. A teams move one vehicle to right.  C teams move one vehicle to the left.  Then I don't have to dismount an entire vehicle if I just want one team for some task.  Maybe a scout team to check out the farm house up ahead or whatever.

Ok, I'm afraid of being the 'Heathen' and the Minority here among the Forumites...

But, I think troops should already be in what ammo layout they were allocated to at beginning of Scenario/QB (Full, Adequate, Low, etc), and not be giving Ammo at beginning or mid-game (except the ability to Ammo Sharing among Squads, etc if within couple action-spots)...Now, in between Scenario's of a Campaign, then I'm All-In for receiving additional Ammo.

However, thou, and in saying the above...I can go for something like having troops receive ammo (in middle of game) back to it's Original Load out (not anymore) they started at from beginning of game.

So, it's not a question of being 'Gamey' (since the game allows for it), it's just a question of it being in the game at all...But, Players wanted this in Upgrade v3.0 (I believe it was introduced), because they wanted unlimited ammo, and not run out, and here we are :-(
