  1. I've been to southern Indiana, French Lick to be exact. Home of Larry Bird and an old resort hotel built on grounds with mineral springs. Anyway a forum search turned up: thread November 1940, Wilkie wins the US presidential election after Roosevelt continues to refuse to get involved in another European war. Calls for more support of the hopeless British in their attempt to drive the Nazis off the Isles have resulted in little more than boatloads of supplies. Wilkie quickly gets Congress to declare war on the Axis. wikiepedia election 1940 Wilkie campaigned against the New Deal and the government's lack of military preparedness. During the election, Roosevelt preempted the military issue by expanding military contracts. Wilkie then reversed his approach and accused Roosevelt of warmongering. On election day Roosevelt received 27 million votes to Wilkie's 22 million, and in the Electoral College, Roosevelt defeated Wilkie 449 to 82. The election was held on November 5, 1940.
  2. For the Sealion project I wrote the opposite story. FDR loses the election and the US enters the War after the Sealion invasion (July 1940). There were training bases already in the works in Ireland. More if I can find my bs. Edit US election was Nov 1940, still can't find my bs. 3. Ken, what the program does, simply put, is copy the tiles from the editor screen (not the pictures or actual tiles, but the data) to a place, then copies that data into another editor. I hope that makes sense. So you open BB to a premade map screen, minimize, copy with the convertor, maximize, exit game, open AK, go to map screen, minimize, and copy from Map converter, maximize, bingo. But all you get is the map. Caveats, make sure you look at the map size of the original before you copy, and then make the receiving map editor at least as big. You can also make it bigger and fill in the empty terrain later. I also set the date and country before I copy. Just in case, probably not neccessary. To answer what I think your q is, if you made a map in 1.01 you can copy it to 1.03 with the new 1.29 converter. I don't think the map cares what version you have, only the converter program, which should be backwards compatible.
  4. Egyptian SU100 with camo. Now what do I do? Yellow, tan or camo?
  5. It does say 1.12 on the start screen. When I ran the analyze, I don't remember getting a popup or dos window so I wasn't sure if it was really doing anything. I'll try it again.
  6. I think it is a CDV but I have tried both ways and nothing. BB and AK work fine. I just thought I would try the analyze. Not a big deal as there are more scenarios then I will ever finish anyway.
  7. oops, SO means small operation, listed under operations. I just got my rear kicked in SB, Retaliation by the AI. Will have another go after Abu Agueila
  8. Left column, CMAK, battle, index, letter "s" , look for SB or Small Battles. Or pick any of Hans' new battles on the right side. Then scroll down the right of the new screen to see other scenarios by this author.
  9. Both links appear to be ok. BTW, how long should the analysis program take to run? I tried it for CMBO and the screen just sat there forever. The warning says it may take some time to run. Is that minutes? hours?
  10. My point of % chance of arrival is to simulate planes and troops off course, or crashing, shot down.
  11. The original post is a "I wish CM had" or "In CMx2" sort of post. We can continue however discussing ways to simulate para drops in CM. Starting the battle with the company CO and 1 platoon on the ground, and 2 platoon COs and 6 squads arriving as 8 reinforcements over 2-3 turns in an open field works good for me. Add the random chance of arrival and ....
  12. The most common problem is having your caps lock on before you start the game and forgetting to turn that off. Your problem sounds like a keyboard issue. Mac or Pc? Wired or wireless? Who's driver?
  13. M4A3 76W next to BFC M3 and Gautrek's dusty M3 HT. I renumbered Andrew's KDBD tan for US troops and tankers. Pasted over the shoulder patches, used the early tanker torso with a white tee added. Need a helmet.
  14. I did a search for cmx2, this is the first CMAK forum thread that had links.
  15. Sooner or later the young ones get old. FPS and RTS gets to be too fast. The units get too small. That is why I play CM. I had to switch to SPWAW from CC, C and C, etc. Over a year ago I say some hype about CMAK. I got the BO demo, ran out and bought BB. Back then the forums were hot. Lots of websites. Now..... We shall see if CMX2 is what we want. If not, there are hundreds of scenarios that I haven't gotten around to playing.
  16. Yes you can simulate drops with reinforcements but the poster's request is for a location randomizer. The closest thing you will get is multiple reinforcements with random chance of showing up. See the thread about random scenarios.
  17. I have a folder named maps and battles. That is where I download scenarios, research bits, briefings, and map convertor. Most things have their own folders within. Once you unzip everthing, you can make a desktop shortcut. Read the instuctions, it is pretty simple. Experiment. You may want to wait for the CMAK 1.03 version, but for converting CM battle map to op maps and vv it is great.
  18. Only when the AI royally kicks my butt and I think of a different way to go about it.
  19. Thanks for the info. Green or Tan, hummm, quandry.
  20. I have two new battles at TSD for Vietnam players. PBR Nightmare Vietnam 1968 Plain of Reeds Vietnam 1962 mrpwase, vs AI, send it to me.
  21. Does that mean you have tried and failed? I was about to convert a battle to an op. hummmm
