  1. I hope to start a new feature for the league in preparation of SC II coming out. I am expecting and hoping for a great response for SC II and would like to begin now with a weekly update from the league on that week’s results plus a few extras like an occasional article. If any of you would like to write an article for an update please let me know. We can first post them in the update and then put them on the Battlefront forum for all to read. The articles can be on tactics, strategy, pros and cons of certain limits, just about anything that would make sense. Here are the results from this past week Terif defeated Dalmatian Curry defeated Twix BigDog defeated Jdotchon AlexanderOK defeated Roving Greek Curry defeated Jdotchon FriendlyFire defeated Marttis Terppanna defeated AlexanderOK FriendlyFire defeated Dak21PzDivision Terif defeated Rannug Terif continues his undefeated streak to 34. Remember if you wish to find a game go to the battlefront forum and find our email list in our thread at the top. Just email the list or a part of the list and ask for a game. Happy Gaming all. 2. Jersey is correct, think about how many troops he had guarding the rear areas. Historically the axis didnt do it partly because I dont think they had the man power to do it. But for a game I think it represents it well.
  3. I'm hoping this thread may help some newer players. When I was new I didnt realize how important HQ's were and I still see that mistake in playing new players. QUESTION: In the battle of France. When you get the plunder from Poland and Denmark as Axis do you. 1) Always buy Manstein. - Very top priority 2) Usually buy Manstein. 3) Buy Air first then maybe a leader like Manstein 4) I dont have a clue what you are talking about. I use to just buy air and try to pound into France with lots of air. But now I almost always but Manstein and beleive he is key to breaking the French line with air.
  4. In the game I dont think tanks are as powerful as they were in the War. However, they can be very very useful if you use them right. As some others I dont invest in Tank Tech but use them as they are for their speed (or range) in breaking a line. The two tanks can especially be helpful in the early war in France.
  5. Kuni, That one post may go into the record books as the longest post of all times.
  6. Go get him Dalmatia. I think you could give him a great game, you certainly are giving me more than I can handle.
  7. I agree with your general view here JJ. I at times have said things which I have wish I could have taken back. (yes even on this forum ) Then there are other times when I have said things and I later said why, its not worth it. Not worth the hassel and the person who upset me was not worth it. Usually better to turn the cheek. Hey I think some wise person said that.
  8. As Kurt said look at the tread for the SC PBEM league. There are over 100 players and if you join the league I will play you myself. Drop me an email if you are interested.
  9. This is a very small point. However, I always wondered why in SCI when England surrenders why no ships nor units remain Free British just like some French units and Ships become Free French. Perhaps JJ or others who know history better than I know this, but I believe the Brits had plans to keep fighting in Canada and the Royals were to be evacuated to Canada in case of a Sea Lion. By the time this happens in the game of course its all over anyway. But still I think any UK forces in the US or Canada should become Free British and ships have about a 50/50 chance of continuing the fight. Similar but even greater than the Free French rules in SC I. Again, I know by the time this happens for most games it does not matter. But still I think it would be more real. If I am wrong on this perhaps the historians will set me right.
  10. I vote for Terif for all the help he has shown to Newbies and newbie questions. Not just newbies but for all questions giving good clear answers.
  11. Play the AI first, then when you have that down come and join the pbem league. You will find playing humans much more fun and much much more sport.
  12. I had this idea, if the axis had random sub placement so each game the subs would be placed in the Atlantic randomly. If this was the case in SC I the allies could not so quickly and easily hunt them down because they know where they are starting. Then the British Navy would truly have to concentrate on finding German subs. Just a thought.
  13. Here is the most recent and updated email list of all players. Go ahead and find a game - Just email the list or a portion of the list. Remember - Describe what kind of game you are looking for and any houserules you would like. 14. Excellent game by both players, well done. Thanks for sharing it and giving us some life here. Question - when the allies first took Tangiere was did he the allies have to fight for it or was it left open by the Axis?
  15. Kuni, is it Kharkov, that city went back and forth several times but not sure that many.
  16. Its a good idea, but I think right now SC is at a low eb. Only reason a lot of us are hanging around is we are waiting for SCII.
  17. Terif thanks, sounds like an interesting game and not the usual game which makes it even more interesting. Avartar seems to be playing a very good game which makes it even more interesting.
  18. Is this game being played via tcip or via email?? LR4 so early for the Axis - WOW. Dont think I have ever gotten it in all my games that early. Also sounds like the Axis has spent a lot of money into subs which was helpful but it may also take away from the Russian front. What was the bid anyway.?
  19. Thanks Terif, it seems they forgot to pay their bill. They had this listed on the site. Hi all, Due to an E-mail problem, we did not receive notice that MYLEAGUE.COM needed to be renewed. As a result, the domain expired and people started getting sent to a "Domain expired" type page. Of course this was quickly taken care of, but for some people it may take 24 hours for the change the reflected in their local ISP's DNS records. I apologize for the problem, and we will be crediting MyLeague Plus leagues for the downtime once things are working for everyone again. Thanks, Case
  20. Do you have a link. I again tried and it again has it listed as being down as under construction.
  21. Someone wrote me and I checked it out. It appears that myleague.com is down. It says that the domain name has expired. This is the league web site that the SC PBEM league and the TCIP league uses. I hope it will come back up. Lets hope so. Curry
  22. question - can we look at the file before we sign up for the tourney. Sure sounds fun and looks like you put a lot of work into this - Thanks Kuni
  23. Jersey is right, dont worry about SCII On the Yankees - Damn Yankees is all I can say
