  1. Martin, are looking at a couple of weeks from your comment for both the demo and first shipments? That sounds very encouraging indeed.
  2. I think the price set at $45. is a fair price compared to other games you would by in a store and because of what you are getting. I will gladly pay it. However, I am not sure I wish to preorder. The reason - I have lost trust in how long it will take. I am a big fan of Mr. H.C. and Battlefront, but I think it is fair to say this has taken much longer than not only we expected but they expected. So I will wait a bit more - But LOOK FORWARD TO IT.
  3. Question - will there be a demo of the game? Will it come out before it is released? Or after?
  4. a patch was needed a long time ago, but scII was coming out so soon we didnt need it. LOL
  5. Many of us are dissappointed that SCII is not out yet. I'm sure Mr. H.C. is too. But there is nothing we can do. And as many have said over the years we have been waiting, we would rather have the game done well and right. So we wait. I have bought other games in the meantime, but of course will buy SCII as soon as its announced. Patience.
  6. Well, I give up SC for awhile and all of a sudden it comes back to life. I'm leaving on a two week trip to Greece for my summer vacation. Yes, Rambo, this American is taking a vacation in Europe this summer. Kids are with the mother in law and me and my wonderful wife off for two weeks in Greece. Oh happy days. But the sad news I will miss the new great SC Tourney. So I have to have my two cents with the Curry-Odds, better than vegas here they are on this hot new tourney. 1. Terif. He wont play. He is in another league. Yoda is in exile. As in the movie, Yoda says, "Exile I must go". 2. Rambo. At times Rambo is the next best thing to Terif and is the old Legend. At other times its not Rambo but Cry-O for all the whinning he does when he loses. Which Rambo will show up, my guess is its usually the Legend for the big games. The founder of the Rome gambit, the axis carrier gambit, and now RAI has to be ranked high. Odds to win it all: 4:1 3. The Zappster! The Sweeds show the largest showing in the tourney with Zapp, Kuni and Rannug. Zapp is a well known quality player, Zapp is older than Ceaser himself in SC time line and is an ancient player from the beginnings of SC. He has refound his game and refound his old Air straegy. The Air King will make another good showing but go all the way???, odds say only 4:1 3. Dragonheart. The pride of Austria and the best Terif clone there is. When DH is on top of his game he rates higher than Zapp or Rambo, but he has been taking care of the kid in SC competition retirement and out of heavy SC competition. He changed his name to Koningburg but he is the same old Dragonheart that will appear and will show a top game. Odds 4:1 4. Kuni. Yes, it's "A-Kuni-mentata" (from the Lion King) which means "No SC worries in Sweedish". He is back from his SC Tour of Russian War sites. He has not been playing much but in the past has shown himself to be a top notch player. Can he come back? Can he re-live his past glory when he was the last king of the Z-league? Or will he or will he just say, "its all gay!". Odds 10:1 5. Avatar - which means lucky dice rolls in any language. The only player to defeat Terif as Axis. A big unknown. In the tourney you can't just quit and start over. So the odds are against but he still has a chance with his lucky dice. Odds 10:1 6. Hellraiser. Not the old guard but one who has shown the strength of his game. Has the ability to play wit big boys, but in a tourney? Doubt it, odds 25:1 7. Runnug. A unknown factor. Has played many games but mostly all by email. Has beat up many in the SC PBEM league but can he play with the big SC Addicts? Unknown but should do Sweden proud. Odds 25:1 8. Lucy beaver - you have to be kidding me. Who is this Les in Drag? Odds 2000:1 9. Dalmatian. Fine player. But can he play with the big boys in a big time tourney. Doubt it, sorry Dalmatian I hope you prove me wrong. Odds 50:1 10. Comrade Trapp. Trapped into this to prove his game. What will it show? Dont know but the odds dont look good. Good heart but unknown game with the big boys. Odds 50:1 11. Jersey John. You say he didnt even enter. Shame, his odds of winning would have been 1,000,000 to 1 but he would have given the best AAR. Jersey's best is in writting, his AAR's are the best of the best and should be in any top tourney. 12. Curry - I'm going to Greece so I have an excuse not to play. You all would squash me like a bug. Hope the best man wins and have fun, I will be in Greece tomorrow.! [ June 02, 2005, 05:47 PM: Message edited by: Curry ]

  11. Looks like a classic in the making
  12. July 4 2005 would be a great date for the demo release - lets hope
  13. Zapp, when I saw you gave Rambo another chance after he got mad when he was losing the last time I thought, wow, that Zapp guy is really a nice guy. Really gracious of him since he was winning that game and then has to start all over again. Then when I saw Rambo gets mad again when the game wasnt going his way I was laughing so hard. I thought it was so funny. But Zapp should get the SC Nice guy award. Rambo, all you had to do is tell Zapp I have to go off to work now and we will continue the game later. You dont have to change the post to read "waste of time off to work" and "screw this". It gives the impression especially from past history, like the past history just in this thread of you being a cry baby whenever you lose. Your legend status is moving into being a legendary cry baby. Also no reason to smack around Comrade with personal attacks for saying just what everyone else is thinking when they read this thread. 14. why dont you two just play email. Dont trust each other after all this time?
  15. MR. HC I hope you will add Heinrici. Or I use to play a civil war game which added Generals more historically. THey came out in the year they reached a certain level. So an example could be Manstien would not be available in 1940 but lets say 1942. Just an example.
  16. Rambo, in SC I dont think leaders are over rated. Or do you mean in the real war. I dont think they are overrated in either. In SC commanders are so important as you know or why do we all buy Manstein. I think its true also that they were very important in the real war although certainly not as important as in the game I will give you that.
  17. JJ - interesting thread. I will have to give it some thought as to which country goes where. Times are very different from then for sure. I especially like your category of three simple categories. Good reading.
  18. This has been discussed before but I dont think we ever got a real anwser from the power that be. (His initial is H.C.) Will the leader rankings in SCII be just one overal figure again or will they be divided into two, one for offense and one for defense. I know this has been discussed before but I am one of those that really believe some commanders are very good at Defense and can suck on the offense. Just to my mind Meade comes to mind in the American civil war and there are several commanders in WWII that I think the same applies too. Was just wondering if we ever heard for sure or not. >>>???
  19. Kuni, Thanks for the report. It must have been very special. There was a lot of controversy in the news here on the whole celbration which really took away from the event itself and all those who gave so much to defeat the Nazi's. Again thanks for the report, lucky you.
  20. Good news. For myself I have stopped playing SCI because I burnt myself out on it. But I think the PL will be a great place when SCII comes out. I just bought Silent hunter III and will try to learn that until Mr. H.C. finishes SCII.
  21. almost 3rd quarter, way past when I expected it. I sure would have lost the office pool. But I bet the game will Rock. Keep typing those codes in H.C.
