  1. That's right: expect there's an error happening - it may be further up in the log... GaJ
  2. Wait a minute - I never said it wasn't fine for head to head play! In fact I said Any problems I'm having getting killed in this scenario are, as usual, of my own making I was just trying to find out what trees you were talking about! (Because the briefing has specific instructions about trees). GaJ
  3. I guess there will always be different opinions on this can of worms. FWIW, I don't think it makes sense to say "designing against AI" or "designing for H2H" is more difficult. Both have significant, but different, challenges. However, it is perfectly fair to ask "is this scenario designed to be balanced for H2H?", where balanced means "each side has a reasonable chance of winning, for equally skilled opponents". This is the goal of designing a good H2H scenario (aside from historical varietes). AND it is fair to answer with "it is balanced only for highly skilled opponents - it will not be balanced if both players are weak - it requires good tank skills to win as Germans, but if both players have good skills, the Germans can win". Which is what I'm hearing about this scenario? Nothing wrong with that at all (except that I don't have good skills and I'm getting whupped! ) GaJ
  4. I don't understand the comment about the Germans being able to get into the trees. Access to the shore VL is completely blocked for the German vehicles... in my H2H game I made the rush to this location as advised in the briefing, and managed to overlook that blockage until too late. Now I have whole inf and supporting AFVs trapped down in that little area with Russian tanks on the other side of the rail and in the yellow field on other side of the lake picking me off... there are lots of tricky terrain features in this map, that's for sure! (It was also a surprise that inf can't go under the rail bridge - I would have loved to pop through under there and made an inf assault on the first Russian tank that set up there!) GaJ
  5. Gamey bastard! Never play him again, that's what I say...
  6. Obligatory promo: check out We Band Of Brothers (in sig) I'm sure other clubs will be along to push their own wagon too GaJ
  7. I'm glad that got sorted. From the few reports of this sort of thing, I can see it's not quite perfect yet, but at least it's workable I'll get to the bottom of that at some point. FWIW, I also just uploaded 1.1.2, with a fix that means you don't have to restart after changing dropbox folder location (not that this is something that happens very often anyhow). Thanks for the reminder also about opening the game browse dialog in the right place. It got broken with all that same "dropbox root" hassle. I have a note in the code saying "Fix this up" I better do that GaJ
  8. Another thought - can you use Install->Forget Install to get rid of one of the duplicates? This wont work for the one called "CM Battle For Normandy" (because that is the entry that CMH uses for the default installation) but it should work for the other. GaJ
  9. CMH is not interacting with H2HH - it reads it for itself. Are you able to exit CMH, delete the AppState.txt file (which is in the same folder as the log file, mentioned at the top of the log window) and start again? If after deleting AppState.txt and restarting you still get this duplicate behaviour, please send me the log. GaJ
  10. Baneman has reported (correctly) that you need to restart CMH after changing the dropbox folder location in order for it to work correctly. You shouldn't have to do that, I'll fix it up, but in the mean time: do that GaJ
  11. Thanks for pointing out the Windows sys tray icon wierdness. Hopefully 1.1.1 (uploading now) has fixed that. GaJ
  12. I haven't really noticed this before, because I tend to leave H2HH/CMH running. I can see it though: each icon is left there after you close H2HH/CMH until you mouse over it. I'll see what I can do about that. On "Opponents" - yeah - feature for helping with "Opponents" in general are on their way. GsJ
  13. Hey All, Although I had implemented it, there was a bug where CMH would fail to cope if it ever didn't find your dropbox location. 1.1.0 has this fixed. It also has a fix for de-icnoifying under Mac, which is something I've been trying to get to work properly for ages! GaJ
  14. Heh heh heh ... I went to fix this today and ... I discovered that I _did_ allow for setting the dropbox location (of course!). It's in the "Settings" menu, which is File->Settings on Windows and CMH->Settings on Mac. (It's no longer under "Installations", because it's not a per-installation thing). GaJ
  15. Buzzards, eh? Somehow you have been waiting for a 1000 posts to say that, haven't you!?
  16. I have to say - this is precisely how it looks. Interestingly, catching myself whinging here, I googled to see what dead horses do look like.... and freshly dead horses without external injuries do look a lot like this one. Except for some reason their necks always seem to be extended. Huh!
  17. If you have a dropbox game going, you can find out what your oppo has by using right-click->Properties on the game. It won't explicitly say that they have CMH or H2HH (I better do that), but you can tell from the version number that it gives you. GaJ
  18. Yeah - in CMH I made it "always autoupdate" and threw away the refresh button. I did this when I was relaying out the display, so I didn't have to mess with "how do I get this single button positioned nicely when the window changes size?" If anyone has a good reason for not using autoupdate, I can always put a refresh back... but I'd like to first figure out why autoupdate is not the universal solution before doing that. Cheers, GaJ
  19. CMSF modders didn't support the site with their work, so I stopped maintaining the CMSF side of things. GaJ
  20. Hey all, There is a "CMRT" category at CMMODS now. Folk who already uploaded mods under some other game type can go to "Your Stuff" -> "Your Mods" and use the "edit" link on each Mod to change its game type. Folk downloading these mods: don't forget to click on the nice friendly yellow button in the top right. CMMODS costs me monthly for storage and bandwidth; there's currently no risk of me making a profit on your donation... Thanks, GaJ
  21. They do - but in the case of CMH it will be the same problem as if you have a non-default Dropbox folder location. As soon as I get that sorted out, it will work with any folder-based file sharing. GaJ
  22. I don't recall seeing in this thread, FWIW, it's Not A Bug Its A Features: he's dead, Jim.
  23. Who else tried to mouse on the video to get a look from the flamethrower's perspective! Doh!
  24. But if you're going to have dead horses in paddocks, you should have a few shellholes as well, eh?
