  1. Thanks YankeeDog, that was just the explanation I was looking for.
  2. Could someone please tell me the difference between a Panzerfaust 30 and a Panzerfaust 30K? Which is more effective?
  3. If I had a choice, I'd much rather have a Thompson over a Sten anyday. A better made gun flat out. And .45 beats 9mm all day long. I haven't checked the game, but it's hard to believe a Thompson would get a higher FP rating over a Stgg-44. I would give the MP-44 a higher rating for reasons of more powerful cartridge and higher mag capacity. And if you're looking at squad FP, wouldn't the guys armed with those '44's have normally carried 98k's? That would be a massive change in squad FP. BTW, I love the .40 Waycool. Perfect compromise between the pure accuracy of the 9mm and the stopping power of the .45.
  4. I would guess that sand more than anything would be the culprit causing those jams. Almost all of my HMG's in CMAK always jam at least once during a game.
  5. I couldn't find it either. I did however look into my CMBB mod folder and found it. I'd be happy to send it to whoever wants it. It works fine with CMAK, and there are a few diff colors to chose from. List your email if you'd like me to send it to you.
  6. The author had no idea what he was reviewing. I hate when that happens.

  8. Andrew, you are the man! I always grab your uniform mods, sometimes even without looking at them first, as I know they will always be excellent. Thanks again for more outstanding work!
  9. I agree, I never use the seek HD command. I tried it in CMBB, but it would always stop in the first available hull down position, which was never were I wanted it. I find it very easy to eyeball the ground and find the position I want.
  10. Anyone know which if any sound mods for CMBB will work in CMAK? NCrawler's Sound Pack for example?
  11. John, just reviewed this scenario at the Depot. Enjoyed the heck out of it. Thanks for the great work and I hope more will be coming soon!
  12. Here you go: http://www.geocities.com/TimesSquare/Arena/8461/mod.html Scroll to bottom of page and there it is
  13. The weird thing about the movie Enemy at the Gates is that it is actually based on a novel called The War of the Rats . Enemy at the Gates was written in the early 70's. I guess they liked that name a little better for their movie. But you should not mix up the movie with the book, because one gives the other a bad name. I'll let you figure out which.
  14. John, Dave, the webmaster for forvalor.com, wishes for you to contact him. I have been chatting with him about his Berlin maps, and referred him to this thread, and he wants to know about any problems people have logging into his site. He would appreciate it! dave@forvalor.com
  15. From that thread: "I want to take screenshots to relive those great moments again and again. How do I do it? Press the 'Print Screen' on your keyboard. Then switch out of Combat Mission, go to your graphics editor (if you're on a PC with Windows the Microsoft Photo Editor will do fine) and 'paste' the image. It's that easy."
  16. Captain Wacky's Tracer mod is pretty cool. He also makes good grass and steppe gridded terrain mods. Flesh's Faint smoke. Tom's Sky Pack Any terrain by Ed. Hope this helps
  17. Also, for sound mods, go here and get NCrawler's sound pak. http://www.militarygameronline.com/Boots_Tracks/index.php?
  18. Get JorgeMC's Steel Helmet mod. Good stuff.
  19. I believe there is only one PzIIIH mod, unless I missed something. It's good dusty version that I like, but a camoflauge version would be great. PS- I love the dirty PzIVE you made tracer!
  20. Enemy at the Gates was a very good read about the epic of Stalingrad. It has hardly nothing to do with the terrible movie made under the same name, which is all about the sniper duel. There is literally two pages in the book that mention Zaitzev. If you are into U-boats, Iron Coffins by Herbert Werner is excellent. He was one of only a few captains that survived the war. Stuka Pilot by Hans Ulrich Rudel is a must read. Rudel destroyed over 500 Russian tanks, a Soviet battleship, and more in his Stuka. I think he may have shot a few soviet fighters down too, but I'm not sure. One of my favorite war books of all time is All Quiet on the Western Front . I would say this is a must read.
  21. A new feature that needs to be implemented in the next round of CM games is some sort of order that will limit the ammo expenditure of a unit. Light mortars can easily go through over 1/3 of their ammo supply. Maybe a command to slow the rate of fire, or a simple maximum number of shells fired per turn order?
