  1. SeaHawk answered this already... Just to confirm: All Battle Group units, including armor are replaced during each normal replacement. As for your 2nd question re the 7 men marched off the map - correct: 7 + 3 replacements </font>
  2. Question time for the newbie: I was forced into an Emer. Reorg. I took the two remaining crew from my PzIIC and ditributed one to my PzIII and one to my 251/1 HT, bringing them up to full crew. According to the rules, since this unit has below 50% of crew, it is "lost forever". Does this mean the purchase points for that unit have vanished and I just use new attached points to buy another unit, if possible? Also, I used one of my squads to replace a couple of casualties from other units, leaving this squad with 7 men as the depleted unit. I know i will move it off the board at start of the battle, and that it will get normal replacements after this battle. I suppose when calculating the after replacement experience, I would use 7 for the number of men left and 3 for number of replacements?
  3. For me? That's private between consenting adults </font>
  4. Biltong, No prob about the pissed comment. I wasn't even sure you were talking to me! I hope I haven't come across as being bitchy in these posts. Well, thanks for all the help you and Seahawk have given me. I think I've got the hang of this , and bammm!....another question comes up. Time to get ready for battle #4...............
  5. Biltong, I read that line over and over again, and to be honest, it could be made a little clearer. I am using just the standard rules, the pencil and paper deal, not Biltaid. So what does Biltaid do for you? Just bought a 10 sided die so I could quit stabbing my pencil with closed eyes at the random number sheet!
  6. Seahawk, The problem is that you would be at an automatic HUGE disadvantage right off the bat if you don't get to use the points. I had 1,000 pts for air; if i don't get to use them and the enemy is getting the advantage of those pts, you would be seriously outgunned. Granted, using the modifiers (for this battle it was AX Assault)greatly reduces the points the enemy will actually receive of that 1,000 pts. Maybe a solution, since you are allowed to spend half of those air pts on arty anyway, is to just say if you cant buy air units, you may use half the points allotted for air for buying arty.
  7. Ok, one more question: In my last game I had 2 Task Force vehicles "Immobilized". When filling out the Favor sheet, do these immbolized vehicles fall under any category? They aren't abandoned, KO'd, or burning, so I imagine I do not lose any favor for them being in this state, but what is the rule for this?
  8. Ok, ok.....guess I should've broken the manual out before I posted Think I found a new note and rule #9 in your new version Biltong: What to do if you get a bunch of air points(i had 1000), but can't buy planes. I spent them all on arty, but I feel a little guilty b/c I bought 2 radio 81mm mortar spotters, and a 150mm radio spotter, and also 2 105mm spotters(no radio). So of course I blasted the hell outta everything Whatcha think?
  9. Biltong, For some reason I still can't get any air units generated so I may buy them....they don't show up on the unit purchase screen. Maybe it's the particular settings for this battle? They are: -July -Hot -overcast - mid-day -Strg wind -Ax Assault -Axis Combined Arms -Russkies Infantry - +10 Handicap Just got an idea: Could it be that there are no planes if it's overcast? Sounds logical. Am I on the right track here? thanks
  10. Biltong, A question concerning air power in the game. I am currently fighting my 3rd battle in the campaign and I rolled up 1000 pts for Air units. The problem is , there were no air units to choose from. Could this possibly be b/c of an effect the DATE option has(as this battle was in July)? I checked and rechecked to make sure evrything was set to "unrestricted", but no air forces. Also, couldnt find them in the editor either. this is strange since i had air power last game and it worked fine. Anyhow, I just used that 1000 pts for arty instead! Yeehaaaaa I know that is probably not right to do, but I wasn't sure what to do. I'd rather have my 150mm radio FO anyways
  11. Thanks Biltong and Seahawk. I think I will use the new rule for the fast/superfast campaign. That way I might realistically make it to '42 and beyond. The map pack's are great too...been using them according to map size, tree coverage, hilliness, etc., and they beat the pants off QB generated maps! Seahawk, sounds like Kiev is gonna be sweet! Biltong, the only version of the Battle Group sheet I found was at Scooby's site and they're in pdf format. I wanted to import the BG sheet into excel and add a few lines for my attached units, but of course i can't import a pdf file into excel. Any suggestions?
  12. At this pace pace it will take 758,000 hours to complete the war!!!! I've got a feeling I'll never get that far............... But this frustration lies in the fact that these rules make the game so much more interesting. Too bad there just isn't enough time.
  13. Thanks to both you guys, Tracer and Juju. the swastika packs, explosions, and tracer your dirty Pz IV with the flag all rock!
  14. Hey Seahawk, Cool, I will wait for the official patch then. What the heck is Kiev Urban Chaos? Just finished battle #2 in the campaign, thanks in much to your assistance. Total victory the first battle, minor victory the second.....and man was it tough. But even so most of my squads have gained experience, with only one squad at 9 pts for exp....now just a lowly green unit I think I'm getting the hang of this: it doesn't take 4 hrs to set the next battle up now Happy Easter, Snowbart
  15. A nice feature would be once you give an armor/vehicle unit a specific targeting order, once that target is destroyed and a cover arc has been issued, for that unit to look for other targets instead of just sitting back b/c their assigned target is no more.
  16. Hello Seahawk. I was wondering the same thing myself, is it time to try out the new beta patch? I hear it will fix the ammo problem with importing units with the editor, but I don't want to mess up anything. Also what is this Armor bug you mentioned? The darn Ivan's seam to be fighting a bit fiercer than I'd expect for low quality, unfit units. Most of my units are outta ammo, dammit! Snowbart
  17. Thanks Biltong, I read you loud and clear! In the midst of my secong game now, about to teach these Russkies a lesson!
  18. Go ahead and order the game. It will take some time to read the manual and understand it. I still have to look things up in it. I ordered the strat. guide in January, and it is still on backorder, but i think they did say the 25th it will be shipping. I wish i had done the bundle pack and got CMBO too, but oh well.
  19. Thanks willmontgomery, that makes total sense! Appreciate the help! Snowbart
  20. Thanks Biltong, I think I'm starting to get it. OK, so the points don't carry over, you gotta buy some cheap stuff with the points you have. Then you get a total of up to 3 units, eventually. Then, once you have 3, you can upgrade them, and here come's my question: Can you pick any unit(besides armor)---for instance, can you trade in a Halftrack for an Infantry unit or support weapon? And when doing this do you "cash in" the points for the unit you're trading in(ie- do you get what you payed for them back)? Rock on Biltong
  21. Will I ever be able to choose a force mix for my Battle Group that is something besides Mechanized? Or will the Battle Group troops always be Panzer troops? I eventually want some SS units. Can you save points for Attached units that you earn and carry them over to the next battle, and buy something good? I rolled for 60 pts for attached units after my 1st battle, and bought a 251/1 HT for 57 pts. But COULD I have saved those points, not bought anything, and rolled them over till next battle?
  22. BTW Snowbart - where did you download it from? I want to test and send again if necessary. Biltong </font>
