  1. If they're so simple, why not just post them for the whole world to enjoy? I tried but they won't copy from the e-mail where I store them, into the "post reply" box,and I'm too lazy to type them out into the box by hand! Any advice on how to paste stuff into the box? Meantime anybody can just e-m me for a copy like I said </font>
  2. But I can't see hide nor hair of 3 PC games I've been looking for in the UK for quite a while:- Harpoon 3. Air Traffic Control Simulator. Op Art of War. BTW,anybody want to swap my Airborne Assault and Strategic Command for anything?
  3. Cmbo's currently on most comp shops shelves here in Plymouth at about 12 quid, and cmbb's also around but costs more
  4. Hey MG42-If you want any tactical articles etc give me a shout and I'll be glad to contribute,as there's a heck of a lot of chronically bad tac advice around the forum that needs putting right. My qualiications?-I'm the Rugged Defence cmbb Ladder Leader
  5. Henk like I said in my e-mail to you,we all got problems mate, believe me! I've been out of work 3 years and nobody'll give me a job because I've been in jail, and employers think I'm too old anyway (50+),my girlfriend walked out on me last year because I couldn't perform in bed,my thyroids underactive and I'm cold all the time,I live alone in a tiny flat with rising damp, noisy neighbours and rival colonies of mice breeding in my settee and mattress,my parents and most relatives are dead and I've made no new pals since coming to Plymouth last year!I was on anti-depressants a couple of years ago but they made me worse,I was sent to a psychiatrist who asked me among other things "do you masturbate?" (Does it show??)and to cap it all somebody has just posted a topic saying I'm no good at cmbb and don't deserve my top spot in the Rugged Defense Ladder! But despite everything my sense of humour is alive and well! Life, like cmbb is just a gameafter all!
  6. I've developed a set of fair and balanced parameters and simple rules for all my games in the Rugged Defense cmbb ladder which are proving tremendously popular and people are always wanting to play me,I currently have 25 pbems going! Anybody e-mail me for a copy anytime
  7. Since joining the Rugged Defense cmbb Ladder Club early last month I've finished 40 pbems and currently have 25 going but am glad I'm not an addict
  8. Newbie Apostol has just whupped my T-34/76 force real bad with his mainly-Marder force in the Rugged Defense Ladder. Many more humiliations like that and I won't be ladder leader much longer
  9. The answer of course is to know when and when not to "interfere" with your boys AI and just give them basic orders and let them get on with the job.For example I'm currently concluding a huge city-fight pbem and on turn one I simply put my dozens of attacking Russian infantry and tanks on one big "Move" order path from the start line straight through to the far side of the city, only stepping in to issue a few orders now and again when necessary to keep the juggernaut going forward on "automatic pilot",and they now have 4 big victory flags and are within spitting distance of the 5th
  10. Absolutely, get your eyeball down in the grass, but you MUST have the "gridded terrain" mods to really read contours and perspective properly by being able to see every tiny wrinkle in the ground that the eye wouldn't see otherwise.Playing without these mods is a serious handicap
  11. Hey Matias-I'm currently playing 25 pbems in the Rugged Defence cmbb ladder because most people LOVE my QB Meeting parameters which give a beautifully fair, balanced game for both sides. Anybody,e-mail me for a copy anytime.
  12. Yes Mikey, snipers are generally overlooked by players but can pack a heck of a punch! In one game againsy Maroule I lined up 7 T-34s in a dominating position on a ridge line and his invisible sniper took the head off every single one of'em in successive turns before I could organise a repositioning! To complicate matters, every time I ordered them to button, they'd ignore me and unbutton again and CRACK! another head would come clean off...
  13. Hey Sergei--I play in the Rugged Defense cmbb ladder and use a set of parameters that nearly everybody likes because I've made them very fair and balanced! I currently have 25 pbems going because people are always wanting to play me! E-mail me for advice anytime
  14. Hey Sergei--I play in the Rugged Defense cmbb ladder and use a set of parameters that nearly everybody likes because I've made them very fair and balanced! I currently have 25 pbems going because people are always wanting to play me! E-mail me for advice anytime
  15. Yep the griddeds are fantastic and anybody playing witout 'em is making gameplay a lot harder for themselves. I also like the "Transparent Ruins" mods which make it easier to see inf in the rubble of collapsed houses. Also go for the "Tracer" mod to make tracers easier to see. Sorry I can't remember which mod site I got them from.Been back to look but can't see 'em, so perhps the sites withdraw mods after a certain time?
  16. For what its worth,of the 40 Rugged Defense cmbb ladder games I've played so far, I've been Russian 20 times and won 12, and I've been German 20 times and won 12. Therefore in my book there's nothing to choose between the sides,as they both have their strengths and weaknesses in equal proportion.
  17. No I'm English born and bred, but my late dad was stationed in Singapore in WW2. Is that close enough?
  18. I'll play you mate,I'm not exactly a newbie, but would enjoy showing you one or two things in a friendly fun pbem. E-mail me
  19. The great thing is that QB randomly-generated maps ARE completely random and fresh every time, making them excitingly dangerous and unpredictable! ("Take that ground!" says your Commander, jabbing his finger on a map) By comparison, human maps are artificially tweaked and manipulated, and a tad phoney to my way of thinking
  20. Hey Barabus,if you're serious,I know a couple of ways...
  21. Guys,guys!-The great thing about the cleverly-thought-out Rugged Defense scoring system is that its based on win percentage ratios, which means it won't help your percentage a bit if you play a thousand games yet don't win many of 'em! I've currently got 26 RD pbems going because people ENJOY taking me on and they know my parameters are always fair and that I'm a non-gamey guy,and that they'll get a decent game! Wudja believe I even HELP my opponents (particularly newbies) before the start by outlining the best units to buy,and what tactics to use, and I even help them along during play itself, boy am I weird!(Mumpfelpfrumf is about to whup me bad with his Tigers,I said before the start "Sure, buy Tigers,I'll take just T-34/76s") There's a place for decency and honour in game-playing,and my opponents appreciate it. Hey Milhaus-we haven't played yet, fancy a ladder game? As for me boasting about being top of the RD ladder,I do it just to ruffle peoples feathers and am glad to see them rising to the bait! Anyway, arrogance is GOOD,so long as the boaster can talk the talk AND walk the walk, and I can do both! (Edit to include:- If its any consolation to people,I've told Rugged Defence that I'm uncomfortable with my large lead and that if they want to change the scoring system its okay by me) [ March 26, 2003, 01:27 AM: Message edited by: Poor Old Spike ]
  22. Thanks guys, and another thing-- now I come to think of it,I've definitely heard small-arms and MG fire excitingly and realistically rattling against a gunshield when I'm viewing from close behind it,or am I hearing things?
  23. Until Bfront patch this,as they MUST,a stopgap measure might be to target guns with tank mgs only,i.e.-select "no use main gun". BTW-no matter how neatly a gun is "hull-down",surely an incoming direct fire shell is sooner or later going to smash into the proportion of gunshield that's protruding above the crest, yet I've never seen a gun take a direct hit like that.
  24. AT-Guns and field guns only seem to die if their crews cop it from small-arms fire or a close HE burst. Has anybody ever seen and heard a tank shell actually slam into the gun-shield or the gun itself?
  25. Cornelius Ryan's "A Bridge Too Far" makes excellent reading of course. Sample-"a satchel charge thrown by a German through the window into a house was hurled back out by the British moments later.."
