Thanks for your answer JasonC. I really wouldn't mind some more info on the terrain-cover in CMAK. I mean a cactus and a few bushes can't be the greatest protection for the infantry in the dessert. If your infantry is running for cover, where is a good place to hide ? //Salkin I apologize for my poor english spelling and grammar.

Yup that's funny all right. What I meant was desert warfare. We can't all be professors, smartass. //Salkin swedish regular joe trying to enjoy a grog game [ November 02, 2003, 07:52 PM: Message edited by: Salkin ]

I'm really looking forward to CMAK now. I'm just wondering about desert warfare : If you loose all your armour is the game pretty much over or can you still use cover to maneuver to a victory flag and hold it for the duration of the game or is armour necessary for success ? //Salkin edited for spelling errors [ November 02, 2003, 07:53 PM: Message edited by: Salkin ]

CMAK will not make CMBB obsolete
Salkin replied to Runyan99's topic in Combat Mission: Barbarossa to Berlin
You may be right, but on the other hand maybe there is some small tweak that will make people pick CMAK over CMBB. Maybe there is a crucial AI (tac AI or strat AI) tweak or some other significant change that will make CMAK the game to play ... Devs and people whith CMAK experience, comments please !!! //Salkin -

Anyone getting tired of WWII settings?
Salkin replied to istari's topic in Combat Mission: Afrika Korps
I'm not tired of WW2. I really wouldn't mind seeing another CMBO or CMBB (or maybe a combination of the two). WW2 is great for a game like this. Why ? Because you have all of the toys but they are not so sofisticated. Today you just push a button and somebody 5km away dies from a missile... Another example : In WW2 infantry was still very efficient but IR and other new technology would make things very hard for regular infantry when there are tanks about. Regarding napoleonic era and so on , there just isn't enough vehicles and other toys to play around with . In other words, WW2 is a fun and relatively balanced setting for CMx. //Salkin -

Jag bor utanför göteborg och kan få det lite tufft att komma ifrån men det här är fortfarande en kul thread med alla svenskar och allt . Underbart spel för övrigt och stackars Seanachai ... //Salkin baklänges blir.... -
How long have you been into it?
Salkin replied to Jean Lafitte's topic in Combat Mission: Barbarossa to Berlin
Actually i never delved deeper into it until playing CMBO. I had a few cousins who liked playing with WW2 miniature plastic soldiers and model tanks when they were younger but prior to CMBO I never really got into the WW2 scene. Thanks to CM I'm even buying books about WW2. Now I'm trying to read STALINGRAD by Antony Beevor. //Salkin -

Hurrah for us swedes. It's great to see that more swedes join the Combat Mission followers but you should stop exploiting us swedes in your peng thread. I know it's good publicity and all but you really need us in the normal threads to keep people (MasterGoodAle comes to mind) from buying to much Uberweapons (Tigers, TNT, Chemical weapons etc.). You allready have your mr Blix/poolboy in Hourtlund. //Salkin If this swede post didn't make any sense I got it just right ! -
