  1. Just trying to show a friend combat mission by using the demo and playing pbem He reckons it has asked him to buy the game with no opportunity to play the scenario through after the third turn. By third turn I mean I only have 3 files in my outgoing box. I cannot believe this is true and just need to confirm it is not here before going through the whole tech support thing with him from my end. Ok. This is what he got trying to load the third time around
  2. I guess it takes a keen eye then. Shame the terrain is not so easy to distinguish.
  3. The terrain is what always bugged me. It's so unclean that its hard to see any undulations and any other features clearly. This is because the terrain tyles and folliage are so messy. But I can deal with it. It's nice enough not to stop me playing. Again most computers these days have at least two cores and this game would get a huge boost from multi-thread.
  4. I see in most battle tutorials and even chris's youtube videos. People are manually pressing and dragging a line all over the place to see what they can and cannot see. Can I press space bar and just see different colours indicating where I can and cannot see on the map?
  5. They could invest the time in multi thread which would fix real time and enable better everything ? But tbh i am happy now with wego.
  6. The AI will be improved this time by triggers apparently. They added triggers similar I guess to armed assault's triggers. I used to build operation flashpoint missions back in the day with triggers.
  7. Much appreciated Chris. Youtube actually loads! There should really be a new thread for youtube.
  8. Those issues sure are serious. Be lovely to have them. Except for buddy aid. I think buddy aid adds an element of real life. Soldiers help other wounded soldiers when their is a lull.
  9. What's your youtube channel name?
  10. ChrisND can you youtube these videos perhaps? My net connection is slow and twitch literally takes an hour to cache 2mins of video. THe connection on these videos is de-prioritised at twitches end some how? Anyways I also cannot watch flash on my windows 8 phone.... youtube I can... If you have a youtube channel that would be much better for watching the older vids??
  11. If I have infantry assaulting and a MG keeping the enemies heads down. How does one set the MG to cut off as my assault teams reach the area being suppressed by the MG? Assuming friendly fire is on for more than just artillery?
  12. I think the unit descriptions in the manual with the sillouettes are one of the things that stand out in thus game. Would love to see them in game. However they have to resize the interface first
  13. Maybe all in good time. Togistan says he plays 20 or so games PBEM at once. For me the suspense would likely kill me. I am the kind of guy that waits for an entire TV series and even seasons... to make sure I am not left waiting That can be years. So on the one hand I am patient. On the other I like to finish things I start in fairly good order.
  14. My problem is my routine changes and can be so hectic I may not get back to something for a week. Which is why dedicating some time and doing large chunks of battle at a time is my preference. Say an hour at a time.
  15. Since real time was pretty much uncontrollable with the current control system I have started playing WEGO. I am still going to love the new camera system in the EF game that is coming. But I am actually finding the game immensely enjoyable with WEGO. It is no longer a chore to load the game up and I am starting to look forward to it now. I may yet go from occasional player to regular. Thanks to the community for all your comments in my earlier real time threads. Special thanks to togistan (you know who you are) from a CM steam group for convincing me to give it another go. Certainly with large formations it makes a huge difference minute by minute at least in single player. Not sure how I will go in multiplayer with WEGO. That will probably have to wait for the new EF TCP/IP WEGO as I have no patience for one 60 second turn a week which it is for most when I have tried it in the past.
  16. CM seems to block out most windows functions though
  17. How about a zoom tool Just hook into the windows disability tools.
  18. Thanks for that AKD. How about the LOS scenario where you just want to flick through them to see who has LOS without going backwards and forwards in the interface.
  19. Just playing some WEGO and realised another thing that is not so annoying but may make things a little easier again. I got some werfer re-enforcements in this battle. I found them in the off map artillery section. But once a commander is selected and you figure out he cannot use that artillery, you have to back all the way out of the menu and select another commander... select arty to see if he can fire. If not go all the way back out again. Very inefficient really unless you have a commander that you know has line of sight and authority to fire ahead of time.
  20. Did modders not do this by simply changing the briefing bitmaps size a few years back?
  21. Have been asking for this forever. My monitor is 1920x1200 and what should be an enjoyable read is a real chore. If the interface cannot do this of it's own accord then perhaps include directories for each briefing resolution and have a switch to point to them. I of course refer to briefing and main menu resolutions as my main prob. But in game interface would also be good in larger resolution.
  22. Thank you for this. I am looking forward to trying this when the downloadable version becomes available. This should stop me having to reverse park the camera every time I move "Three different sets of camera controls; Standard (traditional), First Person Shooter, and Real Time Strategy" ?? Can we still save WEGO TCP/IP games mid game? ?? When are trenches being located in the actual ground instead of above it?
