I had a blockade done against me and I managed a corps and a HQ landing and everything else got sunk or went home. It was the end of the game. AirPower alone has a hardtime killing units. Though you've got to have enough MPPs to afford a full round defense if he tries a Northern approach.

Timing is everything! You make the Axis player wait too long to conqour the World in France so he HAS to conqour the UK or the game is over. I have noticed the guy that keeps a strong Fleet is harder to kill. The guy that keeps it right out of FOG view. Also keep shis aircraft a little back from the lines after Fall of France is eminant to keep 10-strength. I have often hit England after USSR and lost. I'm fed up with with people stretching France so far so in the future my strategy will be an UNPROTECTED Canada? I lost a whole game cause I didn't have a Corps on the USA. 1 Italian Corps lands on Texas Oil, can make more money than it's worth by the time Americans unentrench it. I have noticed the players I've been against were good with their navies! Plus build enough Corps it's just about impossible to make a landing feesible on England.

Seriously SC requires a fairly aggressive player matched with knowledge of the game. I think all the best have the same sets they do, they just do various gambits/combinations/etc... that is what makes them good. It's also those who adapt well. I am having a hell of a time, killing! God it's like picking up a new toy! Though this one is enjoyable, I can see where you end up doing the same scenario over and over. I miss hitting the courts. 100degrees/100humidity make it hard for average Joe down South here. Though it'll add 15 years to your life. Less stressful and more longevity and money, golf. God still trying to learn how to drive a ball straight... Heads up

Okay, this way interesting. I took out Poland turned on France. This guy did an excellent France. Wiped out a German Corps, beat down German Army's and built a HQ. Covering the Dutch countryside and weighing in and out US entry. I sat on the river getting pounded. with 5 air units and the Baltics/Denmark. I never got into Norway which would have helped he kept my baltic fleet down. In the End he invaded Greece and I just threw in the towel definitely want to play this one again. Hueristic/Rambo/Graves only players that have managed to hold out in France VS me

Maybe as the war progressed Oil was a big contributor to the degrading of the luftwaffe's quality. The Good pilots, died protecting the Reich. The newbies died, cause they were improperly trained<lack of oil>. Where ever that sick dude who ran the Luftwaffe was at??? He nurtured the health of his Airforce about as much as his personal health. Herman Hasbeen Goering! Fat, 6 fingers on every finger! Went mad without his morphin, had to have it injectable and ready. Well, Germany being a country of a fair population can only pool and outfit so many combatants. Russia always had too many, you're right! Though again, on grand scale. Technology hadn't come so far in WW2 to make them obsolete beyond winning! I wonder how the Japanese military would compete on this playground! I assume the game is 1/3 1/2 aprox. scale? Many large cities aren't represented on the map. Perhaps they figured making it much larger THOUGH I would like it would be too high of maintenance though the Navies in this game have way too much a field day... In real life there was much more inland to hide out in.

For the way that I hear the game is played amongst the best player it would seem a additive to make the 5 nations Diplomatic rather then set teams. Though a break away from tradition I wouldn't mind seeing it! France belongs in the Axis . That way they'd have a Navy

As far as I know many more were carrying out maintenance and "support roles", in the motor pool, medics, etc... 100k of actual frontline trained troopers is probably not far off. Do we consider the other people? One fighter aircraft takes how large a crew 24-7 to keep regular sortis up?

Genghis, that would be FUN! One of the first books I read about WW1 described Italians and Austia-Hungarians fighting in the Alps. They were wearing ancient armor? They fought with swords? I want this confirmed!? Poor ole Germany carried Austria-Hungary, she was a weak Power. The Ottomons were on there way out too. I would have never committed to such a War! The Kaiser did get cold feet, when the troops began to ship out and he asked if they could be stopped. It was a slow detoriation of politics and Balance in the region. Also the 1st and 2nd Balkan Wars opening up the ethnic hatred. Really the Great War, was the beginning of the End for Germany. She is far too weak in WW2 to conquor everyone. She relied on early conquests to become a SuperPower. That an annexation, it was really prudent to take to War so early as 1939. They made the same mistakes the French did in the previous century, underestimated the harshness and vastness of Mother Russia and it's Will. Regardless of what I know of the poor quality of Russian soldiers they fought a World Power and proved themselves. Even Americans and British payed relatively small amount of lives in comparison. 500k and 400k? Suprisingly, after Italy surrendered I believe her soldiers fought better. Did not 80k die fighting with the liberating Allied Armies? So perhaps their cause was their lack of motivation. Whilst World Domination was every German's cause, that and Pride. Russia what drove her men? What gave them the ability to fight, the fact that it was that or death? I am still wondering, cause I know that the Communist state was harsh as hell on her people. I would think they wouldn't fight hard for such a cause though I am wrong. Also, how do you defeat a people when they're all willing to die? Without Nuclear weapons and acting quickly you have Scorth the Earth.

Well, forcing a stalemate is part of the system. Tough if you do it too far it will make people tire. Make Capitol fall rules... I.E. if London and Moscow still stand at said point then it is not a draw, it is an Axis victory. Similarly for Berlin & Rome.

The Bismark was intended as a N.Sea Raider, she was heading that way and she was also a sign of national pride. the Largest battleship in the Atlantic Ocean.. 10 or 15 subs in it's place would've been far more effective... though what would she have done in the Atlantic raiding unimpeded?

John: I was sitting in a Doctor's Office recently reading a book about German Nationalism. They tried to Wars and failed. Then watched how France & Britian had beaten them with economics and followed suite. They're very economically powerful now. Far more than her former enemies save the USA... So did she lose ultimately or is she just decided that the only way to win is join?

Yes! A Navy is expensive and a huge battleship can be cumbersome if you hit it with a few well placed divebombers. WW2 was the transition from big gun boats to Aerial Sea control. I.E. Midway I would have built a huge # of subs. I would have sunk anything and everything that tried to come in and out of Britian. Remeber what Admiral Derntiz said, paraphrazing,"with enough subs I could've ended the war with britian in 1940." I would have so utterly decimated their airforce and economy before I turned East that she would be no threat any longer. Either that or Roll East like a Golden Horde... She should've waited for War, the Allies weren't mobilizing at all... 1941 probably would've been a better year. With full promise of jet technology within the next year or two to completely decimate all Allied Airpower...

I don't think either of these players can fight it out in Russia so this is going to be a Britian/German War

We likely knew what he was doing and it made the Nazis unpopular with the United States that though had rascism was at the forefront of FREE Democratic World. Could Hitler have conquored Russia??? He made errors... Didn't plan for a harsh winter and wasted much needed resources elsewhere when they were needed for Russia. Moscow needed to fall in 1941, in early December and then it needed to be burnt to the ground so that they could not retake anything of value then Leningrad would've fallen also. It was achievable if the armies would have gone faster even started a month earlier. After that the following year, crushing the Caucas and Stalingrad and burning whatever the Russians might take in return. Then setting up a defense and raping the Nation of it's mineral wealth. The partisans smartisans. They couldn't fight a well equiped army.. Especially without any support from the HomeLand
