  1. Desaix Sorry for not replying sooner. I don't think there will be any major changes in the way the Polish Campaign is played. Army Group South (Rundsted) should have no trouble making it's thrust into Central Poland like it did historically, since Southern Poland is guarded with only one corps. I think the only main difference in the Polish setup will be that Germany can’t redeploy half it’s forces to the Western Front on turn 1. In the end, Poland should fall on time. I'm not really concerned if France is beaten the way it was historically. I'm only worried about it falling within a reasonable amount of time. Historically, France had the potential of inflicting substantial casualties to Germany, its just that French generals didn't take advantage of opportunities when they presented themselves. I think with any campaign, you’ll always have somebody who disbands units, entire navies in particular. All I can say is that this campaign is meant to be played as realistic (realistic doesn’t have to be historical) as possible. Moves like disbanding entire fleets for their MPPs will drastically change the course of the campaign to the point if ruining it. I don’t think any historical campaign can be played like that and remain realistic at the same time. Historically, Great Britain was not as weak in the area of resources as it is in SC. Iraq is a way to help make up for that. The MPP boost is not enough to completely change the course of the game, but enough to give the British a fighting chance in regions other than the British Isles, like Egypt. Also, if I'm not mistaken, an Allied Iraq also increases Allied supply in North Africa, something that they desperately need.
  2. Email on the way. No, haven't playtested it yet. Really, the only thing I'm concerned about is France. Everything else I think will fall into place.
  3. I tried to make the campaign as historical as possible while maintaining it's playability. Major changes include: Feel free to make suggestions, it can only help. JerseyJohn and I will be making an AAR based on this campaign here shortly over at the Wargames and History forum. Feel free to stop and take a look at it. If you want to take a look at the campaign, just leave a message here and I'll email it to you. Comrade Trapp [ January 01, 2005, 05:09 PM: Message edited by: Comrade Trapp ]
  4. Happy New Year all in about 37 minutes EST! Just got my computer working again and I'm now enjoying my new Logitech 5.1 surround sound system for my computer, now I can listen to all of SC's realistic sound effects the way their supposed to be listened to. So what is/did everyone doing/do for New Years Eve? Personally, I'm just laying around watching the "Twilight Zone" marathon on the Sci-fi Channel. Unfortunately, they just don't make high quality shows like that anymore.......
  5. Things that make it hard to liberate Scandinavia: 1) Very defendable for the Axis. 2) Movement is a nightmare. 3) Supply is a nightmare for the invading forces. 4) Not within range of land based air support (except for maybe Bergen). 5) Well within range of Luftwaffe air support. 6) Most of Scandinavia is surrounded by the Baltic (the Germany Navy's back yard). 7) Germany doesn't need to commit many units to defend Scandinavia, while Allies must commit many units to take it. 8) The Axis, knowing that all your forces are tied up in Scandinavia, can withdraw forces from France and commit them to the Eastern Front without worry. In conclusion, the cost of liberating Scandinavia far exceeds any gains you may get from it. Cost meaning unit losses, MPPs (for movement), time, and the Axis knowing where your forces are (they don't have to worry about a full scale ground operation elsewhere). Hope this helps.
  6. Just let it go Well-Dressed Gentleman, we've made our point. You've been here a long time, no sense getting banned for pushing the issue farther than it has to go.
  7. Trust me, I'm not going to loose sleep over it.
  8. Strategic Command HQ It hasn't been updated in a long time, probably in over a year. But it has some good campaigns and graphics mods that you can download.
  9. Hell, you sure seem to talk about it a lot. Damn Les, you really showed your true colors on that one, didn't you. Thats just about the lowest thing I've ever heard anyone say on this forum. I don't see too many people rallying to your defense to begin with, Les. Don't think thats really an issue. No, I don't think anyone here is pissed off at you, not at all. Personally, I pity you. You had a lot of friends on this forum, but over a period of only a few months, you lost them all. Its a damn shame.
  10. Well maybe then he will have learned his lesson, and will stay in the SC playpen if he's given a second chance and leave his crusades the hell out of the General Forum. The SC community can keep its trash here, in your own community. </font>
  11. You too, may your Christmas Season be long and joyous.
  12. hehehe.... god do I want to say something to you right now, but I'm gonna restrain myself.
  13. Thanks for the input, now go back to lurking. [ December 22, 2004, 02:10 PM: Message edited by: Comrade Trapp ]
  14. Terif, you have corrected my answer for the last time! Don't make me challenge you to a match and show everyone who the number one player really is..... Don't let it happen again.
  15. I suggest you buy it straight from this site, you can’t go wrong doing that. But, if you insist on buying it from the store, buy the 20 Euro one. There is no Strategic Command "Gold", everyone here uses the same version. Update: Did a little research after I made this post. From what I can gather, the term Strategic Command "Gold" was an updated demo. They started out with the Beta demo and I guess after a period of play testing, they made many updates to it, thus releasing a "Gold" demo. All this before Strategic Command was actually released in full. As for what you should do, like I said earlier, buy it straight from Battlefront, you can't go wrong. 16. And please, GET ICQ, it makes this alot easier.
  17. My email account isn't working right now. I might be able to host a TCP/IP game right now, if you have time.
  18. As far as I can tell, its random, although more likely to happen around USSR war entry. I don't think troops in the area or countries attacked by the Axis have any effect on it. Now, since I answered your question, do you have time for a game of SC?
  19. I personally disagree with Rambo's banning. I've seen some pretty harsh things said about Rambo on the General Forum, which have gone unpunished by Battlefront's moderators. Having said that, Rambo did bring some of this on himself. Not saying he deserved this, he didn't, just saying he wasn't 100% innocent either. All I ask is that this is only a temporary suspension and not a permanent ban.
