  1. Is it possible to make a mod so all helmets can have foliage please?
  2. I love it. I will never use anything else anymore that war movie mode.
  3. Thank you, stikkypixie, I think the long and the short of it is that fog simply isn't implemented visually yet. As you say, no doubt the LOS is adjusted correctly, but that adds little to the atmosphere of the game. I really, really hope that this will get some attention, since for me fog is essential, especially when we go to the eastern front and the Ardennes. Smoke is already implemented, so fog shouldn't be that difficult, one would say. Might be wrong.
  4. Sburke, thank you for the screenshots. I can't figure out how to post them and since they are more or less the same as the ones in your link it won't add anything. Perhaps Steve or someone actually from BF can give us information about fog? Btw, my videocard is a ATI Radeon HD 5700series, which supports the highest settings for most games I'm playing. My processor (if that has anything to do with it) is AMD Athlon IIx4 640 3000Mhz. But as I said I don't think it is a system problem. The fog just ain't in the game. http://www.battlefront.com/community/showthread.php?t=108510&highlight=ATI+Radeon
  5. Normal Dude, I will as soon as I figured out how to do it. But there's hardly anything to see close to the ground.
  6. Sburke, whatever I do, I don't get anything near that effect. Could you please post a screenshot of that fog?
  7. Okay, I did some experimenting with heavy and dense fog. I'm sorry to say it doesn't at all look like we were used to in CMBO/CMBB. This is no fog, not even a light one. These settings may have influence upon LOS, but they do nothing for the atmosphere.
  8. Thank you, Patboy, for all your work and time!
  9. Is that an existing scenario? I would like to see that.
  10. I would be more than happy to see a pre-september release. Pity flame throwers won't be in, but I'm delighted to see the 251/21 will be. Can't wait to see the first screenshots, especially those of the bridges. I remember visiting Oosterbeek/Arnhem and especially Airborne museum Hartenstein as a young boy, it more or less started my passion for history/warfare. If one of you ever will be in the neighbourhood I can recommend it. http://en.airbornemuseum.nl/ Pretty sensational to be able to recreate those battles. I hope the fog issue will be 'cleared' by then.
  11. If it is a matter of money I would wait for MG. Personally I buy all CM-games, even the ones I'm not thrilled about like Sicily or GL. It is a mix of greed and loyalty in equal measures. Greed for more games, which BF can make if we all buy their products and loyalty to a company that gives us more than we can handle. As much as I like Normandy, Italy and Arnhem it is the Eastern Front and the Ardennes I'm waiting for. Snow, fog, dirt and blood. I dream of the day we will have them all.
  12. That war movie mod is MAGNIFICENT. I absolutely love it.
  13. I'd like to second that question. I love fog and I miss it.
  14. I love details like that. It really makes me happy. ;-) Personally I always make a small sketch of the map I'm playing on to note enemy positions. I tend to forget from which location exactly enemy fire came and it is kind of emberassing to be reminded the hard way. Interesting AAR so far.
  15. I'm always very impressed to see people make such detailed and superb maps. Looking forward to it.
  16. I must admit action reports like that are very, very rare. In fact I was quite surprised reading about two 'armoured flame-throwing vehicles' (Hohenstaufen division) wreaking havoc upon units of the 6th Royal Scots Fusiliers (44 Brigade) on 29 June 1944, during the fighting over Hill 112. I remember that clearly since it was the first time I've read about such vehicles having such an impact. Not even sure they were 251/16s, although I believe Hohenstaufen had some. I'm curious to know which two action reports you are referring to. I bet the above story is one of them.
  17. I'm not quite convinced about 251s being battlefield taxis either. The fact that the Germans equipped them with short barrel 75mm guns and flamethrowers appears to be prove that they used them in an offensive role. Those versions weren't armoured any better than the standard 251 as far as I know.
  18. After reading the first part of a series of three (so far, since it is continuing) I most strongly repeat my recommendation for these books. You can check them out in detail since Amazon offers a Look Inside function. As said in my quotation it is about a Soviet invasion of Allied occupied Europe in the summer of 1945. Espionage, battles, tactics, personal stories, it is all there and a lot, lot better than most historical fiction. These books would be a GREAT subject for a CM game. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Opening-Moves-first-Gambit-Series/dp/1468145134/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1365663698&sr=8-4&keywords=COLIN+GEE
  19. Some of those re-enactment pictures are superb, especially those two Waffen-SS scouts near that bridge and in the fog. Very nice, must be fun to be part of it. Pity you have to buy them.
