Very interesting for sure. Apart from that I also would like to recreate the fighting in Eastern Prussia (Goldap for example), Saxony (Bautzen for example) and Silesia (Lauban for example). All German defensive battles followed by counterattacks with some success.
I'm also playing with the idea the create a campaign for the 1st (Prussian) infantry division. I hope the maps of some of these battlefields come with the module, but making them myself is also an option.
The 1st infantry division was one of the first divisions well equipped with StG 44's, so I hope that they will also be abundantly present in normal infantry companies.
The Jagdpanzer IV L/70. Really looking forward to see that at the Eastern front.
With regard to snow, ice and other winter effects, I must say that the Winter mod by Kohlenklau and Kevenkin (and others) really made a difference in the past years. But now of course the real winter is coming.
What are you looking forward to the most in the new module? Snow? Lend Lease? Partisans? New vehicles?
For me it is:
1. Waffen SS units
2. Snow and Ice
3. Cool and new variants of the Sd Kfz 251 and 234.
Each to his own, old boy. But German mountain units were much more important than naval units for example, so they deserve a place in this module. Not the end of the world, when they're not in, just would like to know.
The answer on the question about the presence of Gebirgsjäger escaped me or wasn't given. Several German Heer mountain divisions were fighting at the Eastern Front in 1944/45. Will they be included in the TOE?
The only reason why I'm happy with pre-ordering (and did pre-order) is that it's a sign that the situation is under control and the game is coming. Less happy with the fact that it can take a couple of months more, but let's not get into that again....
Really trying hard to be positive and patient, but can't we at least have some more information about the coming module? Apparently too early yet to expect a seperate website and Pre-ordering, but perhaps the people who made the scenarios/campaings can share some screenshots? Personally I enjoy screenshots of the fighting much more than screenshots of vehicles (also interesting of course).
I think it was the great Helmut Schmidt who once made a joke about the Italian army when he was told about the high reverse speed of the new German Leopard tank...
