  1. Now this is a trip.... Just went to play a turn, figuring I'd just play it off the secondary monitor. The game launches and I'm spinning around. I figure out that the edge of the screen is all the way over on my primary monitor's edge. In otherwords, my mouse goes out of the game and I have to manipulate the camera to one side by going to the edge of the other monitor. So, it's thinking that it is using the larger monitor, yet is actually showing on the smaller one. Hrrmmm....
  2. LOL, we think alike. I tried that already - CMBB ignores it asks for me to set my display preferences again. Thanks for the reply though - I'll keep trying to trick it. Oh, I did shut down to one display, generate the pref's file and then restart with dual monitors and it didn't work - goes back to asking me for my display preferences again on the secondary monitor.
  3. Ok, well memberships at TPG keep rising, so perhaps I'm wrong. I hope so!

  5. No one did - go away There are hundreds of us still enjoying CM*, and that's going to be the case for some time yet - predictions of its demise are premature. How long have you had this problem?? </font>

  7. I have a dual monitor set up. CMBB was running on my 21" monitor but at 1024x768 resolution, so I trashed the pref's file to get it to prompt me for new resolutions. Now, when I launch the game, it only goes to my 19" secondary display, prompting me for a resolution that is defaulted at the resolution for the primary display - so I think it thinks it is on the primary display. The game will "lose focus" and minimize, while I can mouse over to both monitors while the game is running, which I know shouldn't be able to judging by CMAK which I do have working as I want it in this manner. Any idear's on how to get it to recognize the correct primary display? FYI, if I do manage to get a resolution set and continue into the game, it stays on the secondary monitor, even if I exit and then relaunch. I've trashed the pref's file about a dozen times and I can't "trick" it into using the larger monitor. TIA
  8. I'll assume that they'll add the new forum once a demo for CMx2 is released, as they did with CMBB and then CMAK. Hopefully that demo will be out within a few months as CMxx looks like it's dying on the vine if you ask me.

  10. There's a new version of CM coming? I haven't heard a thing about it.
  11. Well, my point was that just because she looks good doesn't mean she plays good, but I think I might of picked a bad example there....

  13. You know, Selma Hayek looks real good too, but I wouldn't want to take her home. Wait, I did not just say that....

  15. And yet you spell his name incorrectly no less than three times. Not to worry, so did GJK, Larry and Gpig also.... </font>
  16. As posted HERE - some very sad news indeed. I've posted some comments about the situation as I know it at TPG, but to summarize, I'll help Keith however I can to help him get TSD up in some fashion. I don't know what his plans are - with a new job, he may not have the time to manage the large task at hand, I don't know. I just wanted to thank him for his years of support for our hobby and the games and the inspiration that he provided to me to create TPG in an effort to have the cream of the crop scenarios posted to his site, TSD. Thanks Keith!!!!!!
  17. Until Keith gets TSD back up online (and we all hope it's soon), there's a LOT of scenarios that could use some playtesting and your input at TPG!
  18. What about sharing via eMule. It's add/spyware free, and works quite easily. The problem with any filesharing solution is that you don't know who's uploading what, but I guess that could still be a potential problem at CMMODS, but maybe not as likely. Edit: Sorry, there's not a Mac version, I thought that there was. eMule has a sister program called (you guessed it) eDonkey. That one may have a Mac/*nix version. 19. I've posted a message at TPG with a link to this post here. See if some of the designers there might have some scenarios that they'd like for you to consider.
  20. I'm working on a VASSAL for Panzer Command (PC). I was chatting with Akula2 (from TPG) who happened to send me his copy for use on the module, how reltively easy it would be to use this as the operational layer for CMBB battles. My idea is pretty simple, add additional gridding to the PC map and create some CM maps that roughly follow the terrain for that portion of the PC map. Some research here could/should be done as the PC map is quite vague in details at that smaller level of course. The operational layer of the game is played according to PC rules, the strategic/tactical layer comes into play using CM. In otherwords, battles are resolved using CM. The grid that the defender is in determines which CM pre-made map to use. Some quick charts/guidelines for the QB purchases to match each counter from PC - taking into effect any step losses incurred previously. Another reference should be used to convert the losses taken on the CM battlefield to the PC map - in step losses that PC uses. Probably not worth persuing though if CM part duex has some sort of operational layer in it.
  21. Trust me, Irfanview would be well worth the 874.5 KB download. Plus, you could take several screenshots without having to exit the game.
  22. That might of been Fredrock1957's map - IIRC, he did one of his hometown or nearby in Jersey.
  23. Yes, some time ago. The thread that he got banned in wasn't about CMx2, so yeah, you probably missed it. </font>
