  1. You witless tykes are certainly keeping the discourse light. Still waiting for a set up from Doha Boy ....I guess with all of the brain power he needs to compose his posts in this thread, he could not remember that he owes me one. MrPeng is a wonderful lad, and I cannot understand why everyone dislikes him. I find him quite charming....repulsive to be sure, but charming.
  2. 'Nuf said.....I guess that qualifies you to spend time in a mental institution, either that or the Democrat Party.
  3. Hey Leeo...only true losers quote their own posts....believe it! Quit being in love with yourself and send me a fecking turn...will ya!!!
  4. Did he really compose that...or did he just cut and paste something from John Kettler....and not credit him with quotes?
  5. Fragging as it was done in the last war...that's the one before this current one. Was performed with class. It was never done in the heat of combat....if someone was f$%$ed up enough to deserve fragging, it was usually done in the rear base camp by rolling a grenade into the victim's personal area, or dropping one into the latrine while the poor arse hole was taking a crap. Never witnessed one personally...never had really bad leadership either...so that's probably why. Maybe it was all just legend, like one of Seanachai's tales. Still on vay kay be back soonest Toodles.
  6. JC on a crutch....I thought you were talking about Berli!!
  7. I dont have a problem with nuclear plants...what disturbs me is the graft corruption and downright ineptitude that seems to surround any large project these days. Back in the late 80's an attempt was made to build a nuclear plant in Shoreham Long Island. The then Long Island Lighting Company (LILCO) proceeded to screw up every phase of construction and licensing , pushing cost overruns into the tens of millions of dollars. After soaking the tax payers and rate payers of Long Island, the project was abandoned right before the plant was due to go online because the requirements for emergency evacuation could not be met. These geniuses realized that it would be nearly impossible to evacuate nearly 2 million folks off of an island that had only one main road west that could handle the auto traffic. Can you imagine....the name of the company was Long Island Lighting, and it only struck them at the end of the project that they had to evacuate from an island. Its stuff like that which scares me.
  8. America was a different country back then....we were not mired in special interest on the grand scale we are now.....and all we had was one little war in Asia, and a pesky, bearded Cuban to worry about.
  9. You have hit on something here that in my mind is one of the dangers of an all volunteer Army. The disconnect between the populace in the US and the military. Unfortunately, due to the events of recent years the American Army and its members are constantly on display. Whether performing duties in hot spots around the world, or providing aid and assistance to disaster victims right here in the US, the Army and the military in general gets a lot of media exposure. Most times good, but as in the case of Abu Grahib, really bad. The confusion of the American people as to how such misfits as those that purpetrated the Abu Grahib incidents, got into the Army in the first place is a hot topic of discussion. The Army is still a basic representation of American society as a whole, but now they are professionals. Because of that professsional status, the American people naturally expect a higher standard, and are overly shocked when the standards turn out to be not so stellar. Could those same things happen with conscripts? I am sure they could, but maybe the American public and press would be more understanding? Who knows. I think that most Americans look a their male soldiers and see an extension of the football field, which is widely considered to be the last bastion of tolerated macho behavior. Because not all males are subject to the draft now, the soldier has taken on a sort of mythical status, someone who is willing to sacrifice for others. Unless a family member is in the military the actual nuts and bolts of military life remains a mystery to most Americans. I think that money is not always the thing that motivates people, attracting good people may be helped by a comperable monetary reward. Really, how much is a person who exposes themselves to machine gun fire as a matter of day to day employment actually worth?
  10. Perhaps you need to stop eating those funny little mushrooms, they may be the cause of your "flashes" Seriously, I also loaded up "Blues for Allah" from the Blue side, and I see icons with "?", but no real ID of Red unit types initially. This was in one player WEGO Elite mode.
  11. When you say "go in the water" do you mean that in the physical sense or the urological sense.
  12. Yes...I think I did...what comes up when you first log into the game file?
  13. Is this the game we are playing....you cheating bastiche!!!!!
  14. How could you say such a thing? I bet you got a lump of coal a few times when you were a young lad, and now you're a bitter old man.
  15. What I great idea I just had.....plug in "Orange Poacher" for "Jolly Swagman" and then sing "Walzn' Matilda"....it's quite catchy. I have one problem though...would an orange poacher sit beside a bilabong?
  16. I would also say that the military has to compete with the private sector to get qualified people to fill personnel slots. Money is a great incentive, and money corrupts, in my opinion. It takes a certain type of person to be attracted to infantry arms, I dont think that enough of those type of people exist right now, unless you can attract them out of the woodwork with monetary rewards.
  17. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20081003/ap_on_go_ca_st_pe/military_recruiting Although the Navy, Air Force and Marine Corps were traditionally staffed by volunteers, the United States Army always relied on the draft in peace time and increased mobilization during times of war. Does the all-volunteer Army put America at risk for creating a force of mercenaries and professional soldiers who have no ties to civilians or civilian authority? What say you?
  18. You could be right, but then again who pays attention to anyone from Belgium. You all are still trying to figure out that Flemming, Walloon thingie.
  19. Thats "Metrosexual" now, not necessarily a gay thing. Changing the terminology covers a multitude of evils.
  20. Why are we starting a new thread, when the old one still has life? This is entirely against all sanity. Peng !!!!! where is my turn?? Be quick man, before I thrust a shank into your liver, or whater passes for that vital organ in your decrepit body.
