  1. LOL I agree ! My laptop has an ATI card and, when I disabled the Z-Mask, framerate was improved, but time of AI turn calculation too  Unfortunatly, this change didn't speed up the "Loading 3D graphics" time... ...does it depends on RAM memory or processor frequence ?
  2. He he he !! Welcome in the CM community, herr Guderian ! Like many other guys here, I think I'm totally intoxicated ! I have first installed CMBO in August 2001 and it is still on my hardrive now ! CMBB came out on my computer last year (september 2002) and these are the only games installed here ! Surelly the next one will be CMAK I suggest you to begin with CMBO : easier, instantly fun and enjoyable for the newbie that you are !! After some months (yes, months ! There is so many vehicles, units, terrains and tactics to explore !), open CMBB... ...and restart your CM training from the beginning Then, you will be completely adicted to the game. Me, for example, I wonder myself if I uninstall CMBO or not... You can imagine how CMBB has impressed me !! The first scenario I played was the CMBO tutorial. It was a failure : my two Shermans were in flames and my GI's pinned in the woods... Today, the victory is easier to get, but the scenario is still fun to play and make me a bit nervous when the panzers come ! In some months, please come back from the eastern front and retry this CMBO tutorial. Then come nostalgy All the best and enjoy CM
  3. Yes, remember the encounter between Wittman and 79th Armoured Division at Villers-Bocage in June 1944... Some veterans who fought that day said that Tigers fired trough houses and holes in walls...
  4.  Wonderfull job !!  Please help a young modder, how do you realize the Zimmerit texture under the camo scheme ?
  5. IIRC, it is available at cmmods.com and Tom CMHQ... Search for "Sky Pack vol.1"...
  6. Hello Tom, Some months ago, I have downloaded your wonderfull sky mods... It was the first volume of the entire package. ...Any news about the vol.2 ? I cannot wait for it any longer All the best.
  7. Nice picture ! What about convert all your BMP files to greyscale : you will obtain original WW2 movies taken on the battlefield ! Bye
  8. And if you increase the experience level of the crew to "crack" or "elite" ? It may be represent the capacity of the crew to quickly readjust target after another target ? These experience levels (only on the german side), AFAIK, also give an "optic bonus"... Anyway, it is only an idea Best regards
  9. Yes, I think it is the only solution... Looking at the picture, it seems that the black part belongs to the lower hull, just above the road wheels. Then, the only solution is to make this part invisible. But it may be seen with a point of view on the ground... Ok then ! I have opened my New Vanguard book and the panzer has its schürzen on ! I think it is the best way
  10. Hello, I'm actually making a Kingtiger mod, representing a vehicule of May 1945, with bicolor camouflage and circle pattern. Due to the difficulty to correctly adjust camo stripes between the different files, I decided to make the schürzen invisibles. I then deleted the concerned textures by applying pink surfaces on it. The result is not so bad : the lower hull need to be more "dirty" but the general aspect is satisfying. But, when I rotate the view all around the panzer, a strange thing appears. When you look at the hull front, it seems that a black texture still exist... Ok, here is a view from the editor and, in the red circle, the problem... Can someone explain to me how to correct this ? Or I will have to re-put the schürzen on... Best regards.
  11. Hi, Here is the mod that makes me a bit nervous today (look at the color stripes  )... I was inspired by a drawing in a New Vanguard book about Tiger II which represent a panzer from 511 Pz Abt, in may 1945... The vehicle was completely dark green with some yellow stripes. On these stripes, some dark green patches/circles were put. I have not realised these circles yet... ...because the good junction of dark yellow between the armoured plates is difficult to obtain Hey ! I'm a beginner. The other mod is completely "fantasy" : I have put the same mottled texture on all the files. The result is a bit strange. Due to the stretching of the BMP's files over the 3D model, the pattern is not homogeneous (word ?). Anyway, the method looks promising and is very easy. In the other hand, to create a camo texture is very fun As you can see, these mods are not finished yet and your suggestions are always welcome ! All the best.
  12. Well I happen to think that we've got more than enough models in CMBB and if a few AFVs here and there share the same model/texture then no big deal. If BFC tried to get every nut and bolt of every single vehicle that was on the Eastern front exactly correct then we'd still be waiting for this game instead of playing it. </font>
  13. He means that several vehicles share their 3D models with others; PzKpfw-I has the same model as Pz-II, Lt-35 and Lt-38 use the same model, etc. But the statements have been clear that there's not going to be a single additional model. Kwazy's busy making all those turrets for Grant. </font>
  14. Hi ! Like many other CMBB fans, I'm quietly waiting for the 1.03 patch. It seems that its tests require a lot of time. But, in the same time, why it is not possible to modelise (word ?) two little turrets for these vehicles ? Panzer Jager I could be transformed in a real PzI and... the Tacam R2 chassis could be used to recreate a real Pz 35 (t). All the best.
  15. He he he !!... I have already opened my present ! Let me some time All the best
  16. At last ! I have found the website where my Tiger model is : web page This site is almost very well done and pleasant (word ?) to read.
  17. Thank you Flesh. I have put a intermediate layer between my background and my camo layers. Maybe this grey was too "shy"... Anyway, I will try another camo with the early Tiger (grey with brown stripes) : this sort of scheme was in the heavy company of 2nd SS Pz Div, March 1943. This time, I hope, my camo will be better ! Best regards.
  18. Hi Guys, At last, my first mods are on cmmods.com ! Tiger I, 1943, s.SS Pz Abt 102 Early Panther A with random camo... ...The scheme is a bit too blurred... ...I know Any suggestion/help is appreciated ! I've downloaded the Mr Noobie's "From scrath Tiger II"... ...let's see what i can do with this All the best !
  19. Hello, I think my Panther is a bit too blurred too... I will fix it. For the Tiger, I think it's done now. If I'm lucky, I will post these mods at cmmos as soon as possible
  20. Hello there ! I have made some fixes on my mods : Panther A early - colors are blended - schürzen are complete Tiger is a little more difficult : exhaust pipes and their protections don't want to be well camouflaged  I have solved the problem by supressing the camo scheme ! It is also a bit blur. The vehicle is now "muddy"... Here is a preview of the mod before the "camo" fixes on exhaust pipes : If possible, I will zip these two mods and upload it at cmmods.com. Of course, I will send a little post here All the best !
  21. OK, I didn't manage to find the webpage, but here is my model... I have made some fixes (camo scheme, mud) and will try my work this evening. If all is acceptable, i will put all this at cmmos... All the best !
  22. Thank you guys for your posts ! These mods are not on the web now (but i've registered at cmmos), my stuff need some fixes... My Tiger comes from a picture on a website about german panzers, I will give the link here. If you want it now, try a Google search with "Tiger Kharkov" or so... Ok ! Let's open Photoshop now...! All the best.
  23. Hello guys, I've recently discovered the "modders series" stuff from Kingfisher and try to realise some mods with this wonderfull work... My first try is a early Pz VIe from 102 s.SS Pz Abt, in march 1943 : ...and the next one is an early Pz V A with a totally random camouflage scheme... Of course, it needs some fix : mud, correct camouflage location... ...I'm a "novice" ! Any help and suggestion is appreciated ! Best regard ! PS : Thanks to Kingfisher...
  24. Hello, Thanks for your posts. I always try to avoid throwing my few panzers in scattered trees. I'm not so mad My question about bogging is for open terrain, of course !
