  1. Hello there, Please tell me if that very special model of panzer is modelled (or will be) in CMBB. I think it is a heavily armored panzer for reco... ...but not so much else... Any grogs here want to explain ? PS : If you don't know this site, have a look at this nice web page Cheers
  2. I'm sorry, but it looks impossible ! Please explain to me how you can dot that !
  3. Well well well... I see... Anyway, you have to understand that this procedure is only for my personnal use. Thanks for your posts. Cheers.
  4. Hi Guys, Does anyone know that software ? I've succeed to create a virtual CD of CMBO with it (I have a laptop and the CD drive takes a lot of energy). I also have created a virtual CD of CMBB (with "Intelligent extraction", but XP still asks me to insert the CD. Got the clue ?
  5. Hi, I'm sorry but, in CMBO, generate a QB with a own-created map is impossible. IMO, the only way to create this kind of battle (PBEM) is to play with an arbiter (word ?). You and your opponent chose your units, each one give his list to the arbiter. Then, he buys for you the units and save this battle as a new scenario... ...you see ? On the contrary, it is possible with CMBB, and much easier ! Cheers.
  6. Colonel, I'm not so sure BFC will accept to add another forum with babes ! My picture was a bit "hot" (say "nude") but if you find another girl wearing an WW2 uniform (even a part of it )... ...why not ? Cheers.
  7. Hi guys ! I couldn't imagine that my little topic will encounter (word ?) such a success ! Your posts still make me laugh ! Thank you ! I'm not sure my girlfriend will accept to offer me a MG42 for Valentine's day... Maybe a bit expensive ? It won't suit with the bedroom decoration. Cheers. PS (to Vader's Jester) : I send you a message with THE picture.

  9. Nice shot, but I still prefer my "soldier"... Anyway (still talking about my pic of yesterday) , IMHO, women of WWII (from all countries) did a fantastic and courageous job (snipers, tankers, nurse, medics, spies, etc.)... Klavdia Kalugina Nina Erdmann Cheers.
  10. I want to apologize for my ...hem well... "Topic" of yesterday. I can imagine that opening that link at work is a bit embarassing ! Also, I've forgotten that this forum is visited by minors... So, please excuse me ! You surely know that, even if this picture is not fully related with WW2 (only at 50%), it waz just a joke ! Anyway, guys, your remarks make me laugh ! Cheers.
  11. Ok... ...not very serious but... ...just a joke ! http://home.teleport.ch/magnum/gunbabe/images/Bild%20083_jpg.jpg ...but where's the other MG gunner ? (Admin will surely close that topic...) I have found that link on the french CM site... ...Merci Appui-feu ! EDIT BY ADMIN: Image removed but link left. Be advised, that piocture is of an adult nature! 12. He He He… About the scroll rate, I suggest you to do a search named « framerate » in this tech forum… …because this problem was mine not so long ago. Maybe you’ve already done this search but let me tell you some things : First, the size of original BMP files of CMBB are HUGE, compared to CMBO. It is the principal reason of the low frame / scroll rate in the game. Next, you’ve got to check your display options : number of men per squad, trees, doodads, weather… Finally (that was the clue for me), if you got an ATI graphic card, disable the Zmask completely (with Rage 3D Tweak). It increases the rate by 3… Cheers.

  14. Hello, I've downloaded your wonderfull "Dunkelgrau" mods for german armored units on the CMMOS page. It seems that (due to some technical reasons), some vehicules are not available : </font> Panzer IV Ausf. G (late), Ausf. H and Ausf. J</font> Panzer V Ausf. A and Ausf. G</font> Tiger I mid and late</font> SturmPanzer IV late "Brümmbär" </font>So, when this will be available on the CMMOS web page ? Thanks A fan
  15. I don't find my old thread so, I write it here ! Thank you, guys, for your help : I've downloaded the "Rage 3D Tweak" and made my settings. I have disabled the "Z Mask" option completely (the check box is totally gray and not outlined in red). This is a very good surprise ! My new framerates are : CMBO : 45 to 60 (sometimes superior...) CMBB : 35 to 42 (I was between 8 and 12) Yeepeeee ! That's a happy new year !
  16. Hi ! Is there a way to change the color of the shells (fired by tanks and guns) in CMBB ? In CMBO, there are yellow-orange and then well visible. On the contrary, in CMBB, shells are black. I sure agree that this color is more realistic, but (like tracers), orange increase visibility and then, gameplay. Does anyone know the BMP number, or a mod ? Thanks and Happy New Year !
  17. Hello there ! Schrullenhaft said : I totally agree with you : with an average framerate of 10-12, CMBB is smooth and nice to play. I only wonder myself why its framerate is so low, compared to CMBO. I clearly understand that BB requires more polygons to be rendered, but is that the answer ? I can admit that but then, a "2000 CMBO battle" is still faster than a "600 points CMBB" one... Do you see ? You have understood that I'm not whining about the graphical rendering of the game (which is wonderfull), but just trying to know why such a difference between to games based on the same engine ! Bye ! (Psssst !! Schrullenhaft !! Just tell me how do you get 60 and more ! Oh Com'on...! )
  18. Oops, sorry ! "Tnaks" is not a french nor an english word... except "Tnak tnak tnak tnakin' on the heaven's door..." Cheers.
  19. Hello ! Yes, sure that the number of polygons for each vehicles proportionally decrease framerate of the game. Looking at the BMP folders (both CMBO and CMBB), it's obvious that each tank or other armored stuff require lots of textures. Just compare a Pz IVG "BMP files package" in both games... Recently, I have downloaded FRAPS (go there if you don't know that very nice tool) and start testing CMBO and CMBB. In CMBO, whatever the unit you choose (infantry, tanks, guns...), my FPS rate is always between 40 and 45. It decrease to 36-39 with rain. Visually, the result is sweet and don't decrease with the number of units or the map's size (this only affects the computation time). In CMBB, that's not so pretty. I have noticed that framerates fluctuate with the type of unit you choose : </font> Infantry : 8 fps</font> AT guns : 10 fps</font> vehicles : 12 fps </font>And if you deselect everything, the fps value is approx. 10. How can that be explained ? And why the computer affects differents fps and not an average one. Will I be obliged to try a downsampling of the infantry uniform textures in order to increase the framerate ? Last thing, the screen resolution of CMBB is the same as in CMBO : 1024 x 768 pixels. Will framerate considerably increase if I change it to 800 x 600 pixels ? Opinions are welcome ! PS : Using a 1024 x 768 pixels resolution with CMBO, which part of the screen will be "captured" with the movie cpature function of FRAPS ? Corner of the screen, center ?) Tnaks for your help and "Joyeux Noël" !
  20. Hi Gentlemen, I was wondering myself about the physical phenomena of antitank shell impact/penetration on an armoured vehicle. What exactly happens in the spot of penetration and after ? I guess it depends on the type of shell (diameter, velocity, weight)... I’m just curious about the phenomena in itself (temperature, flacking, consequences inside the vehicle and on the crew, etc…). Does anyone have the patience to explain / illustrate this or indicate usefull links (for the WWII period of course) ? In CMBB, armour penetration effects are very well represented (you can « feel » that nothing is random but calculated), but even if you enable the « Damage info » function (in my opinion, it’s better to disable it : fog of war…), it’s a bit difficult to understand why that type of shell inflicts that kind of damage. Finally, I wonder how BFC have created the sound representation of impact and ricochet. Are this noises realist ? If yes, why this sound aren’t the same as in CMBO ? And in the reality, I can imagine that a frontal impact of a 75mm AP shot from a Panther in a T34 or a M4 Sherman was terrific, and much more heavier than in CMBB… Please correct me if I’m wrong ! Thanks !
  21. Hello gentlemen, Last evening, I gave noticed that the Sdkfz 7 has'nt got textures for the seats ! It was all white... I have not installed any mod (except a splash screen !). So, bug or not ? For your information, my battle took place in July 1944, in a medium map (1500 points QB). Maybe it's possible to copy another BMP file to restore the texture ? I can do a screen capture but don't know how to bring the picture here... Cheers !
  22. Hello there, I wonder myself about the framerate of CMBO and CMBB. Recently (please look this thread ), I’ve done a downsampling of lots of BMP files in CMBB (ground textures, paths, rail tracks, trees…) except units and vehicules pictures. Visually, the game just don’t change, but it’s now possible to scan the map more easely (word ?), and the framerate is higher than at the beginning, when I installed the game from the CD. When downsampling, I looked at the size of BMP files in CMBO and tried to make the same in CMBB (128x128 pixels for ground textures, etc…). Now I can say that a lot of CMBB textures got the same size as their CMBB counterparts. In other words : BO and BB are in High-resolution (in CMBO's terms) But (Yes, there’s a « but »… ), even if the size of most of textures are equals (I repeat : ground, trees, houses, road…), CMBO is faster than CMBB. I compared performances looking at equivalent maps (1000 x 1000 meters or so) in the editor (without units) : CMBO is still fast and more pleasant to manipulate. Of course, I did this comparison on the same computer : 1.7 Ghz PIV 256 Mo Ram ATI Radeon mobility (no fog, yes, I know… ) 30 Gigs XP home So my question is simple : imagine you’ve got two games (BO & BB) with textures completely equivalents (size, colour depht…), will theses two games have the same framerate ? Cheers
  23. It waz my opinion too ! Don't you want to play CMBB anymore ?
