  1. Yeah, CMSF is a C&C clone..please this is laughable. I dont even think that the game is in a form that you can judge its gameplay. There is little gameplay right now with all the bugs and incomplete features. It seems to me more hardcore than CMx1. There is some mystery though with the armor penetration model, almost all rounds seem to explode on tanks, even non damaging ones. Do the apfds rounds explode on impact? where are the broken shells and ricochets?(miss that Daaang sound )
  2. I just witnessed a BMP-2 going through a wall cutting it through a building, penetrating a second building and going out to other side of the apartment block finally going through another wall again into the freedom of the streets. I had just ordered it to go 100m straight ahead a perfectly nice and flat street. Well..umhh

  5. Hey its August, you should go on holiday for a week or something and ignore our whining..(temporarily of course )
  6. I dont get the click-fest complaints. You guys have never played any RTS havent you? How is CMSF a click fest when playing against the slow as hell AI? I tried multiplayer (not working properly though) and pace was perfectly normal with more thinking than moving the mouse. There is nothing wrong with RealTime, period. There are plenty of imperfections in CMSF but RealTime is the best thing that happened from CMx1 to CMx2. TacAi, LOS/LOF, spotting and unit reactions are not though.
  7. Well CM always existed for me as a 2player game only. Playing against the AI is 5% of the multiplayer fun. Hope the net code gets some serious patching, otherwise this would be the end of my CM gaming days
  8. Same here. Host is perfectly ok, guest is seeing laggin vehicles, infantry floating in the air, units refusing to follow orders etc. I'm disappointed, I thought that multiplayer would save the bad AI but right now its unplayable beyond 1-2 vehicles and inf per side.
  9. I dont think that it was their intention to sync the title with the music, its completely random. If they wanted a dancing show intro they could well have syrian unconventionals headbanging and playing air guitar with their Aks with arab metal on the background

  12. I get this bug in almost every battle. If pbem files are 14mb large then I suppose RT is even more bandwith demanding. Invisible strykers/small arms were encountered in a game as a guest in LAN too though.
  13. LOL..I think this is a feature, title is working smoothly

  16. Bump..still trying with various hosts settings. The smaller the battle the better the results are.
  17. Well I guess its all about practice. In COH you feel so time pressed that your head aches after half an hour. And you actually have to think too and make decisions. Bad decisions cannot be countered with frenzy clicking. CMSF in comparison is like cruising in the countryside. Pace is just right and tactics and positioning will win anyday against a click-happy opponent. Oh, and in CMBB WeGo (TCP/ip) I often had the advantage over my buddy(boardgame old timer) because in the same time limit I was able to make more moves than him.
  18. There is no comparison between CMSF and "other" RTS out there. RTS are a seperate category with specific resource management gameplay and they are more of a game than a pure wargame. They are designed to be fun and balanced, COH is a good example and pretty entertaining I must admit. CMSF RT is not here to compete with these games, they share nothing in common except that you order units as the action unfolds. RealTime doesnt mean I sold my sould to the devil to make some bucks. It IS a step forward to realism. Its the engine problems that hold it back right now and the modern setting that many arent used to.
  19. 4.5? This is so harsh. I agree it must be his 8800 card, because graphics are fine with no glitches if you are lucky to have the right pc combo. Hideous visuals? The guys have done a tremendous step forward in this part of the game, with fantastic models, crisp and clear details and a great pallete of colors with no fancy hollywood shades. The game is unfinished, true, and this is probably why he rates it so low...but 4.5? A 6.5-7 would be fairer. Hope BFC wont be disappointed with the negative reviews, I guess they were kind of prepared with all the bugs and all. Base engine is all that matters with this release, I dont mind they released it as is, I couldnt wait any longer and I'd be happy to help shaping CMSF into a great wargame. 1.02 shows that they have the energy to pay attention to our observations/suggestions.
  20. There something wrong with TCP/IP. From my experience host seems ok but guest is having multiple bugs like infantry not dismounting and generally not following orders, strykers disappearing while passengers stay behind hovering in mid air, invisible small arms and occasional laggy performance. I have tried it as host and guest on the interent and LAN as well. Anyone else experiencing these problems?
  21. Molloy I have time right now, check the opponent finder forum if you are interested.
  22. Just a link to a dedicated chatroom from inside the game would help a lot and should be easy to add.
  23. We didnt see "give me back my money" threads as with TOW (though, suprisingly initialy had fewer bugs than CMSF). TOW had some passionate haters indeed.. CMSF has mostly a love/hate affair among many of us. Most of the hate will go away if QBs become more playable, some LOS/LOF problems sorted out and new scenarios start to come out. Right now I'm dissapointed with multiplayer popularity since there is virtually noone to play with in RT. I would prefer playing "space lobsters of doom the boargame" than PBEMing with Kornets and Javelins either.
  24. Shift click helps a bit but there is still some noticable lag each time you change the map size. It takes quite a while to expand to 1kmx1km. Game runs fine on my sytem btw.
