I agree there Claymore. Right now, all that we can do is to turn 'em off.

Suggestions for final game/v 1.1
Le Tondu replied to derb's topic in Combat Mission Archive #4 (2002)
You know, I thought that I read somewhere that utility was to be included in CMBB. Maybe it caused the download to be too big and it'll be in the finished product. [ September 02, 2002, 03:27 PM: Message edited by: Le Tondu ] -
One small request for CMBB in the future?
Le Tondu replied to Sgian Dubh's topic in Combat Mission Archive #4 (2002)
It is way too easy to accidentally hit the GO button in CMBO and all that "unused space" is a REAL good thing, IMO. Make it bigger? Sure, I'm for that. But ONLY expand it to the right and NOT to the left. -
Please bring back the shockwaves......!
Le Tondu replied to a topic in Combat Mission Archive #4 (2002)
I was hoping to find that they were just modded out, but after looking individually at each and every bitmap in CMBO, I oculdn't find any! (BTW, after downloading all those mods, I am VERY IMPRESSED with the artistic ability of all the modders. Their ability REALLY shines when they are looked at individually. GREAT job guys. Thanks to all the modders.) Are the shockwaves hard coded? Does anyone know for sure? Ya know, when I was watching some 75mm artillery fall in CMBB, I couldn't help have the feeling that something was missing. I mean that artillery was downright wimpy. Maybe it was done only for the DEMO to save on the download size and that they really are in the final product. Keep yer fingers crossed guys! Hey, everybody start chanting......"SHOCKWAVES........SHOCKWAVES.........SHOCKWAVES........SHOCKWAVES......" Begin banging anything metallic in time with the chanting. Let it build until it is a roar and don't stop until the shockwaves are back. [ September 02, 2002, 03:13 PM: Message edited by: Le Tondu ] -

Yes, I too hope that the shockwaves make it back into CMBB. They were really cool and I want them back. -
I also like the blue bases. At least (so far) there aren't any dayglo colors used like the dayglo green that the US had in CMBO.

Its all in the details............

While I am incredibly grateful for what has been accomplished with CMBB, I have to agree with Toad's assessment of the voices and shock waves. I REALLY miss the shock waves. Artillery just looks plain wimpy without them. Right now, it is kind-of hard to tell where artillery lands. Can that be changed with a mod? If so, I look forward to it. (Please, please someone say it can be.) On another note, I like CMBB so much, I may NEVER go back to playing CMBO. Heck, I'm considering even removing it entirely from my HD. CMBB is so great that I'm afraid that going back to CMBO will only be a let down. Thank you VERY MUCH BTS, BFC, etc... for making CMBB. I have a pleasant feeling that the next three weeks will simply fly by. -
Refresh Monkies take notice!

Refresh Monkies take notice!
Le Tondu replied to Battlefront.com's topic in Combat Mission Archive #4 (2002)
I don't understand why there is all this talk about refreshing when it doesn't seem to be necessary. I mean if it is about having your ISP consider you "current" during the download and therefore not disconnect you, my ISP (Earthlink) recommends having your email program check for mail every 5 minutes or so. That way, you can go to sleep and download safely. I thought that I would just toss that in. -
What has the CM:BB demo in common with Casablanca
Le Tondu replied to Reichenberg's topic in Combat Mission Archive #4 (2002)
Are they in Casablanca? -
How'd this get on page 3? Anywho, there is now 31 days and a wake up or less! One calendar month to go.
-
I'd buy the Special Edition if it came with a cute blond. Or redhead. Or brunette...........
-
Can we say thirty three and a wake up or less? The time it be a flying by.
-
Its 34 and a wake up or less!

What draws you to this particular game....
Le Tondu replied to Jack Carr's topic in Combat Mission Archive #4 (2002)
What draws me to CM?? 1. We-go. 2. 3D battlefields. 3. The innovative spirit of BTS. 4. CM is the best thing going --period. 5. The almost unlimited potential for scenario generation. 6. CM's replayability. [ August 15, 2002, 08:40 PM: Message edited by: Le Tondu ] -
Wooo Hooo! Its getting closer. Ya know, if ya sleep 12 hours every night it will only be 18 days. That cuts the time in half!
-
My pardon, Captain, you gotta point there. Ok, 38 days and a wake up -or less.
-
I sorry but, I thought thay said that there WAS gonna be be pre-orders. They accepted pre-orders for "Strategic Command" didn't they? Why not CMBB? Anyways, if they aren't then that is ok too. I know they're working hard and many kudos to BTS. With every new screenshot and every new report about it on this discussion board, CMBB looks even more attractive.

You know. Hmmmm. He has a point there. Good question gatpr!
