  1. Sounds like more fun than Lawn Darts. Good times...
  2. Ah, waiting...it's a bit like energy -- it's neither created nor destroyed. It just is. I spend my time sipping beer and looking at the ceiling. They used to frown at it here at work, but I tell them I'm drafting policy and they go away. Suckers...
  3. Meh. The Review was heavy on the glibness (which is almost like saying "I was overwhelmed with indifference") and light on the information. Hey, I pine for WWII action but CMSF scratches an itch I didn't know I had. Especially when I play as the Red forces -- putting the Yanks in their place in creative ways is quite...tasty.
  4. Hmm...what's the delay time for a cell-to-cell call on a Syrian cell network...? Is the the same as an African network? Sorry...couldn't resist.
  5. Get AKD's sound mod for that extra Immersion Factor , too. Helps with the tinnitus. I landed a Paradox-flavoured CMSF from a used software store a month ago. A lot of good men died in the following month. Many beers quaffed, too. Oh, and I apologize to the folks at BF for going the cheap route and it was right there on the rack...well, you know... I'll be getting the Marines and the Brits (when it appears) when my credit card recovers from my last holiday...should be soon. Oh and get Mord's death sounds too (check the title, I may misremember it) as it adds just a little more black humour to every mad minute you may encounter. Enjoy! And make sure you take the odd bathroom break. I ruined a few chairs this month.
  6. It's a durned shame that CMC was canceled -- I was really looking forward to it. But, I've discovered a love for CMSF in the meantime. And kudos to BF for releasing the source code into the wild. I wonder what magic will come of it in a years' time of roaming free? Stay tuned...
  7. Now, now..The Canadian government has apologized for Bryan Adams on several different occasions. Celine Dion...well, the senate is still working out a plan for her. Oh, yesssss....
  8. I've been casually looking for the Paradox-flavoured version of CMSF in town, but I haven't seen it yet. I must've missed it at EB. Durn. I'll have a see at Giant Tiger, but I have a feeling it won't be there either. But, I'm torn between buying the game from BFC and getting it locally. I mean BFC is small development company and really deserves top dollar for its efforts. On the other hand, I'm cheap and don't have a lot of top dollars. But BFC is staffed and run by some really talented and helpful people and they keep turning out quality game after game... ...on the other hand, I'm cheap bastard and have been known to separate two-ply toilet paper just to get that "extra mileage". But BFC... Heck...I'll have a look and let my heart and wallet guide my actions. Should I apologize to BFC in advance in case I have a moral lapse? I'll still get both modules, though. They just seem like a lot of good content for a wee bit o' cash. Thanks, Canada Guy!
  9. Actually, I've been listening to Gwynne Dyer's "Climate Wars" radio documentary on CBC Radio's "Ideas" program. Parts 1 and 2 are available as podcasts and they are very interesting to listen to as they deal with the potential political and social instability as climate change could potentially take the stuffing out of the world's food supply. He has a book on the subject by the same name. I haven't got it yet, but I likely will. It doesn't have a lot of info to debunk the climate change theories, but there are some solutions out there and they are readily usable solutions if we collectively put them into action. You'll hear those near the end of the second part of the radio documentary.
  10. Canada Guy...I just sent you a private message in reply. I wrote that "not allowed to have interests" things while in the throes of my last marriage (boy, I have been here a few years...heh) and haven't updated it yet. My current wife is a lot more supportive with my hobbies. Politics, religion, military history (I'm no Dorosh, but I know a little bit of stuff), philosophy -- heck, it all mixes with beer. And it's all fun until someone loses an eye. Then it's a hockey game and you've paid too much for the ticket. We now return you to your regularly scheduled topic. (Oh, did you get CMSF already? I'm too lazy to back and check to see when you said you're purchasing it. I want to know how flawless the transaction is. Thanks, eh?)
  11. Well, I didn't realize Canada Guy is from Saskatoon as well. I've been thinking (very much) about CMSF and Marines and the digital download too and you asked the question I had on my mind. Thanks, eh? You prolly know that Alexander Keith's is widely available here...the red is great for fuelling long CMBB sessions. A good beer, or rather stout, to try is Phillip's Longboat Double Chocolate Stout (or is that a porter?). I've only seen it available in the Okanagan. We drank our last bottle a few months back, otherwise I would've provided a sample. Enjoy CMSF!
  12. Getting back to the main issue here (my apologies), I'm going to actually buy Shock Force because of the British module. I just piddled around with the v1.11 version of the demo and that was the best time I've had by myself for a long time without hand lotion. Seriously. And, yeah...maybe I'll just throw in the Marine module just fer the hell of it. We'll see. Thanks BFC! I'm loving you with my mind!
  13. Excellent! Thanks BFC! I'm getting it now. 324 MB so far...
  14. You know, this British module just might be enough for me to buy CMSF. I've just downloaded the CMSF demo now (yeah, I've really held out for a while) and have been trying the game out in earnest. It's not bad. Not bad at all. Maybe I'll even get the Marines module as well...
  15. Hmm...yup... Lotta crickets chirping in here. In between the roaring silence, that is.
  16. Ah...right...THOSE big 3. And here I thought it was the Milk, the Juice and the Holy Toast. I sure love my Smart Car. And I loved those three Toyotas I had before it. The Big 3 can go to pot for all I care. Unless we are talking about sausage, eggs and chips...then we should at least keep the chips about.
  17. Gawd...I have never seen so much cheese and corn come crashing together like that before. Well, there was this one time when I ate three large pizzas, a can of creamed corn and then chugged 18 beer. That was in college, though... But, I think I love Loren too now. Snerf.
  18. Hey, now...Emrys is a beautiful man. I've seen him in a thong and it's a kind of a raw beauty, but its still beauty. (Heh...now put THAT in your sig.)
  19. Don't forget wearing a tweed jacket with elbow patches. That and a driving cap...wool is preferred, but a poly-wool blend will suffice. Grow a goatee and talk a lot with your eyes closed. Then read a book and then write the summary of the book you just read.
  20. The damn terrorists won after all? Buh..but I was a good little consumer! I was! Damn...
  21. Heh heh...Americans will soon have purchased their own social democracy if this keeps up. The universe is sound and just after all...
  22. I thought SPAM stood for Self-Propelled Attack Meat. I didn't read through this thread too thoroughly...did anyone mention Klik? That's some tasty stuff. Makes yer jaw click when you eat it, hence the name. Best with beer and eggs.
  23. Me, too. I could boil some water or get some towels... ...isn't that what you're supposed to do in these situations? Should I order pizza? Let me know.
  24. Long live a post a day! Long live the wait for CMC!!
