  1. Apologies if I sound anal but the "Read me" files says: QUOTE Then place the 173rd uniform patch.txt file in the "Mod Tag" folder inside the "Game Files" folder UNQUOTE. In my reading this, I assume that a "Mod Tag" folder does exist in Games Data; but there is none. Should I create one and then copy & past the 173rd uniform patch.txt in it? Thank you in advace
  2. Has anyone managed to get something better than "Draw" in the battle with objectives Hammer & Anvil? I would be interested to hear how he/she approached it. Question @Imperial_Grunt: Please elaborate a bit how outcome of this battle affects next one. Thnx

SPOILERS - a small critique In the mission where we are supposed to investigate the crash site and the possible hideouts, the AFVs and Tanks of the enemy reinforcement spawn at ground which allows them to have direct lines of site/fire with the distant hills and other parts of the battleflield. As a result the blue player is suddently punished by sudden - cannon death for having deployed its Humnvees to good observation points Having said that, it is a great experience

  5. A two member US Forward observer team took one casualty. At that time artillery was denied. It seemed normal to me at that point. When the healthy member took care his wounded comrade, I noticed that the surviving member now had on him 1) a radio, 2) binoculars and 3) a PDA. But atfer ten minutes from the incident he is still denied of artillery. Is this a bug?
  6. I am playing the US campaign and I am at "Back to the Wall". I have deployed my stinger teams to execellent positions but they never fire a single missile even though the enemy helos make a lot of passes. Any explanations?
  7. Playing a large night senarion, I just realised that my AT-4C is has amazing night spotting abilities. It spots infantry in large distances very quicky. I dont now if this applies in general for ATGMs but I would like to share

  9. I just realised that when I order a BMP2 to pop smoke, the smoke shows up 100 meters away from the front of vehicle. Is this normal or a bug? Does this happen with other eastern vehicles as well?
  10. I am paying a battle as Ukraine where I have been given 2x Su25. I order each them to heavy point strike a building deep inside enemy positions. They have thrown all bombs off (both) targets. I try to experiment again with light point target. One of them again released heavy bombs (!?) again completely off target. Is preplanned CAS supposed to be that messed up or is it a bug?
  11. Actually I have a comment on mission 5: Possible SPOILER WARNING.... Why did all Russians go there? Was this by design or a glitch in AI pan? Why deprive us of the fun of a MOUT night advance witout night googles on such a nice map?
  12. Missions 1 and 2 were very good. My comments on mission 4: In this mission the Russians though everything on the advanced positions of the ambushed scouts and as a result they get massacred quite easyly after some fierce firefight at the first 25 mins. As a result they surrendered around min 35 due to heavy casualties. It would have been much more challenging if portion was only expended on the attack and the rest remained in defensive positions in the town organising a defence in depth. It is a great map to be wasted without the Ukrainians having to force an attack on the city. Similar overly agressive behaviour was displayed in mission 3 with same results but there it was just an attack. On a second note: Both in missions 3 and 4 the russian tanks advance too deep too quickly into the ukrainian positions and as a result they become easy targets for infantry. Hope this helps

  14. Are there any Russian or UKR ATGMs which CANNOT be deployed inside buidling?

I return to this topic out of repeated frustration and ask (Disclaimer: I am no programmer) How difficult is to code the AI so that (for example) IF: (1) terrain has low vegetation AND (2) an infantry unit has been sitting prone on the terrain for X number of minutes (say 2 mins) with zero or 1 bar of suppression THEN the member of the infantry unit equipped with the binoculars goes into kneeling stance .....And if he spots anything then the rest of the unit does what is supposed to do

  18. There are the US Humvees and other reconnaissance vehicles that carry these big mounted external optics. Does one has to unbutton the vehicle in order to be able to use the equipment or does it work even if buttoned-in?
  19. Yes. An AFV of mine ended its movement order exactly next to a hidden enemy unit hidden in some foliage and they attacked it with grenades immobilizing it, as a result
  20. SPOILERS I found this mission very easy. Actually I caused a surrender without even touching a single objective. Just establishing my tanks on the central hill, two good observation points at the hills left and right of the map, and then using my UAVs to call Helo and precision strikes on enemy vehicles. I only advance a bit my Bradleys and dismounted infantry along the main road, but, as I said, just a bit. The enemy took so many casualties that they surrendered at minute 45. In general, with the US one has a huge technology advantage with the UAVs and the ability to bring precision in two minutes. No need to seek contact with the enemy. In this mission, playing elite, I had 3 KIA and 1 wounded. That is all
  21. Has anyone managed to beat this mission? Is there any AAR. I am in the middle of it. I will probably win with a minor victory but the number of casualties is daunting.
  22. I am currently playing the Ukrainian campaign and the vehicles do not have spare Iglas. Unless I am missing something obvious...
  23. Is it possible to re acquire Iglas from inside certain AVF's? I found myself in a situation that my two deployed Iglas fired at an incoming helicopter which resulted in missing the target its shot (by wide margin) but there was a second Helo pass after that which was, unsurprisingly, successful.
  24. A scenario design question. I notices that the US were able to call heavy artillery almost instantly on my troops no matter were I was moving on the map. As a result the battle was a massacre (ok I won but still...) How can one design that feature? Is it with many drones overfying the battlefield?

I had this kind of problems occasionally with CMBN and CMSF (i.e the saved file was not loading, or the computation phase hanged) The solution for me was to increase the max size of the virtual memory as much as possible. Be as generous as you can. I should probably have posted this reply to tech support thread.
