I tried to disable Z buffer and runnin 2x AA,4xAA and Fastest performance but that makes things REALLY messed up. Im running driver 2.6.2.166 got it about 6 months ago, works well for most other games with fastest performance set. Ive got: AMD Thunderbird 900 Win ME Voodoo 5500 32Mb Sore eyesockets from playing since 5am. Really, it works fine with the single chip settings, but if you have any ideas how to optimizr the graphics, please let me know. Thanks!

Assault works pretty well I think, tires your men quickly, but puts a hurtin' on your opponent while you move in. Prep barrages can really mess up an attack from the get go, routing a Battalion HQ on the second turn is not a nice way to start out an attack.

Molotovs even make a nifty shattering sound when they hit tanks. Way cool. I finally KOd a T34 with a close assault. The team was wiped out by another T34, but I'll trade two men for a tank any day.

Oh, well I feel stupid. I had the white block problem in CMBO as well, I just have to switch the card to single chip only and it works fine. Thanks. Im going to go over to the corner now with my dunce cap.

Anyone else experiancing clipped unit pictures? Its like a bad photograph or somefink, I only see thier left side! Any ideas ? Im running a Voodoo 5500 single chip, otherwise I get the same white block problems of CMBO.... other than that I dont know what I can do.

If it was so effective, why werent they used on the western front and elsewhere? Why didnt the Brits\Ami's use cannister shot? I always did wonder that, it would make sense to have a shotgun effect ordinance against soft targets. Any specifics on the cannisters, how many pellets, how big the pellets, range, ect....?? This may be a foolish question, but if the IS-2 has a rear turret mount MG, would it be possible for the gunner to fire the coaxial MG while the commander or loader fires the rear mount MG ( In CM:BB )? I've heard that they have a hard time with multiple weapons from one unit ( Like how bunkers have three MGs but only 'use' one) so how do you think this will work?

I'm preparing myself with a couple racks of Pike Pub XXXXX Stout, nachos and some smokables. Oh, and a padlock. I'm considering a catheter, sure its a little uncomfortable at first, but its the ultimate in convienience. I think Im gonna skip the colostomy bag though.

Yeah! That was the one! I was always interested in WW2 but the strategy games available before this did'nt really appeal to me ( Woopideedoo, hex grids! ) so when I saw what this was about, I jumped on it. I have'nt bought any game since. If anyone on this forum works for PC Gamer, thank you!

I also found out about CMBO through PC Gamer, it was the 'best of' issue a couple years back I think. It was just a little blurb about a revolutionary war game with a couple of old pics ( no mods even!) and I went online and ordered it the next day. Thanks.

I'd like to see a return to the western front for the engine rewrite, with all the crazy improvements that are sure to come, I'd love to play it again. That, and I dont think a Afrikan Desert\Balkans time frame or a 'Watch France get stomped, again' time frame would appeal to a very broad audience. Although that probably is'nt of much concern to the people on this forum, but something that may be considered. Oh, yeah, look man, dont light your farts on fire, I saw a friend do it once, it aint pretty.

Oh yeah, this thing will probably tear up lighter armour when and if it does get the drop on it, but a Tiger, even buttoned up, will KO it just fine. But against lone infantry, its a badass mobile pillbox for all intensive purposes. Does it have four individual tracer lines as it fires or just an abstracted one? Hopefully there will be one in the demo scenarios.

Thanks for the clarification John, I did'nt know the differances between the two halftracks. Do you really think they'll be gamey? They will probably be easy for almost every tank to desrtoy, and they should'nt have the hit detection problems of the German flak trucks....kfdz thingys that are all but outlawed. Sept 1, here we come.

The M 16 was'nt in CMBO, but thanks to the lend-lease, the Russkies got lots of 'em. I just wanted to hear if any of you lucky people who previewed the game got a chance to use one and if you did, how well did it work? With the new MG moddeling and quad .50 cals on a half track, there HAS to be some good stories somewhere. BTW, how many did the Russians get through lend-lease? Thanks!

It took me quite awhile to really get a hold of everything. There are alot of commands and things to remember, but oncer you get there, it all comes together. Some things I wish I had someone tell me but learned the hard way; HQ units are MUY IMPORTANTE. keep them in range with thier respective sqads\units. If a squad is out of C&C, its almost useless. On the control bar at the bottom of the game screen is a little {keyboard} button, it can show you all of the commands, try them out and see what helps you. Have your troops scout out potentially hostile hiding spots ahead of your tanks. A hiding bazooka or panzershreck can really ruin your day. Patience. Its a big game, it takes time, trial and some memorization to get the feel for it. Its the best there is out there. I used to go through a new PC game every month, but since this one I have'nt bought anything. That was almost a year ago. Welcome to the battlefield.

In CMBO, the German bunkers have ( supposedly) 3 MGs in them, but it only shoots in one area at a time. So I want to know if there will be ; 1) Covering arc command for bunkers. I would just assume so, but not sure. Q) Individual MGs shooting independantly in thier own directions. It would be awsome and realistic to see one bunker with multiple MGs blazing away. *) New types of bunkers? I always have alot of fun ( and occasionaly heartbreak) when attacking\defending bunkers, I'm curious to know of any changes in them. Thanks!

My Grandfather was a SeeBee in the Pacific, he told me a story about defending the base he was at ( I cant recall which island) from bonzai attacks. He somehow lost his BAR and he found a double-barrel shotgun instead. A japanese soldier got too close and he " let 'im have both barrels, it was like a giant hand picked him up and swatted 'im back end over end" if I remember the words correctly. He did'nt use shotguns afterwords. I love hearing those old stories.
