Seriously thing of switching off!
Krazy Canuck replied to Doodlebug's topic in Combat Mission Archive #4 (2002)
This is in fact what I've done! I find myself checking these forums to keep up with the mods, ideas and watching for the patch.(lots of time on my hands right now, our weather is absolutely terrible  ) Your probably aware there are 2 completely at odds camps on this very subject......I hope we all end up feeling that BTS has got it right! Where is that bloody patch!!??!! KC -
An old chestnut … that’s really p’ing me off !

This just points out another aspect of the problem. The way CM treates vehicles as points on a battlefield rather than as solid 3D objects. Things that can be hidden behind / under whilst the recently bailed crew work out what to do next. As things stand now a crew bails and are immediately visible and vunerable to anything that can see the tank. They then represent nothing more chalanging than MG aiming practice to their foe. In reality they may well have been able to escape through a hatch not directly observed by the enemy and then be able to hide behind the tank unobserved. Maybe this is an example where one compromise (vehicles existing at a single point) influences other aspects of the game such that a 'realistic' response to being imobilised results in unrealistic and artificial consequences. Maybe (in game terms) it would be better to make the crews stickier and the MGs less likely to get tired after running away whilst carrying a 100lb gun. Aspects that while not necessarily true IRL help to compensate for the weakness of the game model as it stands now. I'll duck (behind my point source ) desk now while people defend their game..... Men are tired too easily?

Quenaelin, my friend Even though I agree with you regarding *micromanagement*, it doesn't seem your going to convert many others at this time. May I suggest you do as I, stop playing CMBB til the patch arrives, then try the new commands, if your troops do not behave as you expect or would like, go back to CMBO or move on to another game, this is my plan. I recommend this for you also because you are not going to win this argument!! This is BTS's sandpile, and it will play the way they want it to, and rightfully so. You are persistent Rgds, KC -

Welcome Pedro, Your english is a helluva lot better than my spanish, no need to apologise!! Your video card should handle all but the largest CMBB scenarios without any problems. I'd try the 30.82 drivers first. Just run a search(top right corner) for *GeForce drivers*, there has been lots of discussion! KC -

Bravo, General Smallwood, very well said!! As the (to?) many posts attest there is two very split camps on this topic, I, for one, feel as you and many others that there is just one teeny, tiny thing missing here, that 1 more command. I'd like to enlist with your army sir!! KC -

Barbarossa To Berlin For Sale
Krazy Canuck replied to merkava's topic in Combat Mission: Barbarossa to Berlin
Well, he has the manual, I'm guessin' it's 'Merikun! ...and he is from California..... I'm just not sure that 5 days of playing are sufficient to get the true feel of this game. I too am struggling with it, for me it's just not as much fun as CMBO. But, I've stopped playing 'til the patch comes out, I'm hopeing that will make it more playable for me. KC
