  1. Although I'll be mostly over at the SC2 forum for the next little while, just wanted to pop in and say thanks guys! I also wanted to extend a special thanks to Fernando (Battlefront resident artist) for making the game look so damn good Hubert
  2. Thanks for the offer Blashy, unfortunately the rumours that I live in La Belle Province are false. I'm an Ontario native born and bred, and yes, you guessed it, this also makes me a Leaf fan Although I wouldn't mind seeing the Habs in the playoffs as well, should make for some interesting games if they meet! Hubert
  3. Everybody needs their sleep and since Moon is no exception... being awake I've taken a quick look at these threads I'll agree any point that had to do with SC has long since passed. Now... believe me I would much rather spend my time developing than policing, but I have to ask are these types of threads really necessary? Do they bring any real value to the game or community? If it's personal, please take it outside, use other channels or whatever else other than these forums and/or move on. Locking this and the others up. Hubert
  4. Hi Double_Ones, I run a similar configuration but have not had any problems... I'm wondering if the NAV2003 might be causing any issues. Could you try disabling it to see if it makes any difference? Hubert
  5. True Ok I just replied to your email before reading this. My guess is that it is unfortunately probably something to do with your computer since this is the first time I have heard of this error. Perhaps you have access to another system to test this on? Hubert
  6. Glad to hear you are enjoying the game Strange error and first time I've heard of it, could you send me a saved game file with a description on how to repeat this error as it would help me track it down. Hubert
  7. Sorry to hear about the troubles... I can't say for sure (as I have yet to see it) but I believe there was a problem with the old save/pbem directories, when you uninstalled did you delete all these directories/files before reinstalling/applying the latest patch? Another option would be to install to a different directory to see if that helps. Hubert
  8. Unfortunately it's difficult for me to say since I cannot see it first hand and I've never really heard of this type of problem before. Do you have any problems with other games/applications? If you reinstall I would also try (if you haven't done so already) uninstalling first as well as deleting the entire installation folder directory/contents before reinstalling. You could also try running with 'directx = 0' in the SC.ini file. Hope this helps, Hubert
  9. I believe it is just the one file (main_menu_buttons) that is incompatible with the latest version of SC. Running it with the original file should do the trick for that mod. Hubert
  10. Hi Jon, That's a strange error. Can't say for sure but if it worked before it might be something up with your system. Perhaps a reinstall of SC might do the trick. Hubert
  11. Who wants to spoil a good surprise, right? Hubert
  12. IIRC there are a few maps but it is mostly information listings, charts, data tables etc., but if you are lucky (like I was for SC1) you might be able to find it as a resource at your local library. Hubert
  13. That's right! Believe you me, I'm also pretty excited about this one, and it's going to be tough to contain myself as we approach the right time for formal *tidbits*... and this coming from a seasoned veteran game designer like myself Now... for all you guys checking on my post frequency... what Martin says Just know that I am still here and working away as always Hubert
  14. Honestly... it's been a while and there definitly wasn't any snow on the ground around here Hubert
  15. I think the one you are talking about here is "World War II: A Statistical Survey" or "World War II: Databook" by John Ellis (they appear to be the same reference with two different names for some reason). Great book and in fact a primary source of reference for SC1. Hubert
  16. This seems to be a rare issue on some older systems that run SC... mostly Win9x/ME. Also if you are running SC with a graphics mod this could contribute to the problem as most are created with 16-bit graphics that seem to stretch the SC engine somewhat. If this is the case you could manually edit the mod to convert them to 256 colors (with a graphics utility) or reinstall the patch without applying any mods. Not sure if any of this applies but I wanted to throw it out there just in case. Hubert
  17. I don't think there is much you can do if you are only working with the build in XP firewall. An alternative would be to disable the XP firewall and use a third party firewall such as ZoneAlarm, with this utility you can manually set permissions for various programs and IP's. Hope this helps, Hubert
  18. If it's CMBB that is giving you trouble perhaps you should try the Combat Mission tech support forum found here: http://www.battlefront.com/cgi-bin/bbs/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=forum;f=8 Hubert
  19. As always mum is still the word... but have a great holiday guys and new year Hubert
  20. Hmmm... I could, but I can't give all my ideas away... otherwise it would not be a surprise now would it? Hubert
  21. That is strange, perhaps a reboot? Hubert
