Game Changing Events
Hubert Cater replied to Edwin P.'s topic in Strategic Command 2 Blitzkrieg and Weapons and Warfare
Hey Edwin, I just wanted to say I really do appreciate your enthusiasm for the upcoming release of SC2 , and while these are all fantastic questions, I'm still a little hesitant to commit answers to any of the above feature ideas/questions (one way or the other) until the final beta is complete as things could still change. Either way, hopefully we can all give you more definitive answers sooner rather than later Hubert -
As mentioned in the Tech Support Forum.... Looks like either you have an older version of SC running or this campaign was made from an earlier version of SC. It's most likely the latter and if this is the case you won't be able to play the campaign and in fact it will not show up when you attempt to load campaigns (this issue has been fixed btw for SC2) Hope this helps, Hubert

Unit Overstrenght
Hubert Cater replied to Korut Zelva's topic in Strategic Command 2 Blitzkrieg and Weapons and Warfare
No the general formula is similar to SC1 where regular reinforcement looks something like this: reinforcement_points * 5% of unit_cost and elite reinforcement is: reinforcement_points * 10% of unit_cost -
Just wanted to pop in and say I'm very glad to hear the SC PBEM league is still alive and well. Keep up the great work Curry

To be honest not 100% sure just yet as it's still on the table -
SC board game!
Hubert Cater replied to waltero's topic in Strategic Command 2 Blitzkrieg and Weapons and Warfare
Interesting idea... not sure if there would be a market for it considering all the entertainment competition that exists for you nowadays... would anyone besides waltero be seriously interested in something like this? -
Roads and Railroads
Hubert Cater replied to Rono's topic in Strategic Command 2 Blitzkrieg and Weapons and Warfare
Final number of resources and cities are still to be determined but for the most part the ones included are there either because they are the major cities/resources of the war and/or strategically chosen/placed for game play reasons. Either way the nice thing about SC2 is that if you disagree with any of the original setup the Editor will allow you to change much of this to how you see fit, that, plus create entire custom campaigns which is a good thing as well -
Roads and Railroads
Hubert Cater replied to Rono's topic in Strategic Command 2 Blitzkrieg and Weapons and Warfare
The general rule for Op moves will most likely still be the same, i.e. that it can only do so between cities where it has a direct path in terms of friendly tiles/territory but the above mentioned change should make things a little more interesting whereby you as a player will most likely have to plan your reserves a little more carefully, i.e. mass Op's from the East to the West Front will be a little more tricky in SC2 Couple this with the ability of your enemy to bomb cities with or without units on top of them (to eliminate railhubs) and this should make invasions like D-day all the more intersting -
Roads and Railroads
Hubert Cater replied to Rono's topic in Strategic Command 2 Blitzkrieg and Weapons and Warfare
Hey Jon, I've very glad to hear your interest in the game. At present there are no roads or railroads per se but as Lars mentioned and including some of the recent changes to SC2 cities will act much more like railhubs than they did in SC1. For example now you will only be able to Operationally move a unit if it is within or next to a city. The benefit of this is to limit mass movement and to allow the opposing player the opportunity to damage cities to a level below strength 5 (simulating infrastructure damage) thus limiting Operational movement options for your enemy (to and from) even more. -

'Tis the Season
Hubert Cater replied to Desert Dave's topic in Strategic Command 2 Blitzkrieg and Weapons and Warfare
SC Santa... that's a great one Thanks for starting this thread Dave as I also thought I would drop in to wish everyone a great and safe holiday as well. I hope everyone has a good one! Hubert -
Thought I would drop in to wish everyone a great holiday and thank you all for the last few years on these forums. SC has truly been a great ride for me and although it may be a tired cliche, it really would not have been possible without everyone here. Thanks again everyone and hope you all have a good one Hubert

Elite units purchase?
Hubert Cater replied to Chris G's topic in Strategic Command 2 Blitzkrieg and Weapons and Warfare
Can you buy troops with higer moral? Not currently planned... although you will be able to purchase units with various research levels, of course depending upon which research levels have been achieved for that particular country. -
Global Scenario Ideas
Hubert Cater replied to pzgndr's topic in Strategic Command 2 Blitzkrieg and Weapons and Warfare
Interesting idea for sure... but nothing like that is planned or currently implemented -
installation flexibility?
Hubert Cater replied to acrashb's topic in Strategic Command 2 Blitzkrieg and Weapons and Warfare
Can't say just yet as I am not sure what the protection policy will be for SC2 upon release. -
I just wanted to pop in and acknowledge the various threads and to apologize for the continued delay... believe me when I say that I would REALLY like to get this game done for everyone, including for myself, and that sometimes these things take time and longer than you (I) might initially think Ok back to coding for me....
