  1. Youri, if you set your desktop resolution the same as the one you select for the game does it work?
  2. Hi Youri, This was unfortunately an introduced error with v1.07 that we are quickly trying to correct. As a workaround can you either try running the game in the same resolution as your desktop, or change your desktop resolution to the one you use in game. Not an ideal solution for now but it will at least get you up and running until we have the proper fix ready to go in the coming days. Hubert
  3. Ok I think I see what is going on... please try for now running the game in the same desktop resolution you are in and I'll quickly work to correct this.

  5. Hey guys, sorry to hear about the trouble. I've just retested the patch and am unable to repeat this. Question for you guys, can you tell me which file mirror you used to download the patch from as I wonder if one of the mirrors is corrupted. For example I just downloaded from Internode and it seemed to work as expected on my end. Anyone else having this issue? Additionally, can anyone confirm the patch downloaded and installed correctly?

  7. Let's put it this way... we are as close as we can be to saying "done" without actually saying it officially
  8. CanuckGamer, good questions and the good news is that there should be an announcement on these details relatively soon Hubert
  9. Vveedd, AA tech also increases the CTV for Anti-Air units and these auto fire and defensively protect land units within their radius. Fighters can still attack land units but of course not nearly as effectively as before now that we have introduced Tac bombers, i.e. also a CTV change for Fighters as well.
  10. targul, if you read it carefully it was actually Rambo, I think Baron just didn't use the previous post quotes very well in his general reply. Either way, keep this civilized guys or I'll gladly lock it down... and Rambo watch your tone or you are gone and this time for good.
  11. I also just wanted to say thanks for your proposals... eventually all game changes are a combination of my own intuition, beta feedback as well as the suggestions found througout the General Forums
  12. MJY, all I can say is that there will be some changes but nothing finalized just yet. Idea being any changes implemented need to balance out game play, historical imperitives as well as not lead to further exploits etc. For example, at the moment if the Axis attack Spain there is an increase in US readiness, i.e. US enters earlier and chances are the US will also receive an addition to its naval forces. We could have it where if you attack Spain, Portugal automatically joins as a consequence but in the long run this might not be ideal. Reason being is that the chances of the Axis attacking Portugal as well after Spain is likely but now there is no diplomatic penalty to increase US readiness as it has entered on its own. Additionally having Portugal enter on its own will not change much as the Axis are still very likely to crush it quickly with little benefit to the Allies. This is just one example of where there may be unintended consequences but we'll find the right balance as best as we can.
  13. Just wanted to mention that with the new rail rules, i.e. units can only Operate from a rail tile, chances are it will be easier encircle units on the Soviet front. Reason being is that you no longer need to completely cut a unit off to prevent it from Operating to safety... now you just need to cut the rail line and as a result players will probably have to be a little more careful with how they set their front lines etc.
  14. targul, nothing is set in stone just yet but for now while they do have a strong punch they are still very weak on defense. As mentioned before, in game they have very limited build numbers and because of this they can even be used to simulate some of the shock troops used during the war, i.e. early German shock troops used along the Maginot line or later war Soviet Shock units on the Eastern Front. They can be initially effective and/or highly demoralizing but generally do not have the staying power for any meaningful offensive unless properly supported by regular forces.
  15. Hi vveedd, Just a few quick responses: 1. No 2. No cities and ports can still upgrade AA, it is just now we also have a mobile AA unit that is handy with front line troops or whatever else players will find useful 3. Each unit can upgrade their ASW but of course Destroyers are more ideal due to their higher sub attack/defense values 4. Difficult to say as they are more of a flavour unit as described in the AAR thread... the framework for the unit is set but the specific use for them is up to the players imagination 5. Not at the moment
  16. Correct and by adding in the Artillery unit we now have a true and proper separation between what a Rocket, i.e. a V1, V2 represents and what Artilley should represent. With WaW, Rockets can now become the strategic wonder weapon they were always meant to be in SC and Artillery is just artillery. Worked out quite well actually
  17. targul, Rockets have changed for WaW... essentially now they are a strategic weapon only and no longer much use against units.
  18. Stalin, no worries as Blashy is of course just exaggerating his situation One of the new effects in place for WaW to slow down the new and improved German war machine is a STRENGTH event that I now use to simulate the Soviet Winter. Long story short Axis units will now suffer minor strength point losses, some more than others and some units won't take any hits as there is variation to the effect, to simulate this very unique event in WWII history. The new effect worked so well that I just toned it down ever so slightly as beta testing of course helps us find the right balance. Expect to see a few of these new additions to the game and as a result, and without giving it all away, I think you will find a game that plays much more closely to history while at the same time managing to be much more fun to play
  19. borsook, essentially correct and unfortunately the idea to include Cavalry with the main level campaigns came about just a little too late in the development cycle and as is always the case, there are always compromises to be made in order to wrap up the game in a timely manner
  20. Correct and either way most countries are limited to a single SF unit just to add some fun/flavour/variety but the real meat and potatoes of the war is still all the other units already represented. Also, for modders, the SF unit provides an additional unit slot to create other unit types such as Cavalry and so on... as will be seen in the smaller scenarios also to be provided with WaW.
  21. Frost I like the idea for the national colors in the losses chart and will probably implement this for the new expansion.
  22. Hey K Man, odd error... I will check on my end to see what might be happening.
