  1. yea, that was a sweet replay. I think you ambushed and knocked out 4 T-26's in about 1 1/2 minutes, with all infantry, as far as I could tell.... that was something to behold.
  2. The problem you had early in this one is that I was able to get superior numbers on you in each tank engagement. when your panzers appeared, they came within view of my tanks piecemeal, and I was able to get 2 or 3 T-34's firing on a single panzer. I would say this probably accounted for most of your first panzer losses. also, your shells have been bouncing off of my frontal armor left and right. I have, for the most part, been able to keep all my tanks within command (as much is as humanly possibe in this game without radios)and I think that has helped a great deal. my flanking plan with the T-26's worked, drew your STUGs into the open and allowed a T-34 to kill one with a sweet shot to the flank. if you would have picked your battles a little better earlier, it would probably be much closer right now, but those couple panzers killed piecemeal early in the battle really helped level the playing field, and after that, I got good shots, some lucky bounces and had pretty good position overall.
  3. You hit the nail on the head. It is realistic. Give me a platoon of T-34's and a platoon on infantry and some arty and I will take on an all infantry force. Let the infantry protect the tanks, the tanks will pin the enemy and the artillery will cut them up, then the infantry hops on the tank and ride in for mop up duty. It can be done. It's just harder now, and I thnk that is more realistic. I don't think you can beat anyone who knows what they are doing in CMBB if you only field infantry against his combined arms. So play the newbies!
  4. I wouldn't say that, by '43 and certainly by '44 the Soviets had some very experienced, good divisions in their army and by '44 the Germans had much of their army bled white and were relying more and more on inexperienced troops.

  6. From the Finnish site posted by Keke: What a beautiful shot!
  7. Biltong and Co., thanks for the camaign rules (a brilliat MOD in itself) and thanks for all the great maps!
  8. from the Battlefront.com 1.02 download page: Transferring PBEM files from Version 1.0 or Version 1.01 to Version 1.02: 1. In CMBB version 1.0 or 1.01, load the PBEM file. In an orders phase, save the pbem file as a saved game by clicking on the little SAVE button on the command bar at the bottom of the screen. 2. Repeat Step 1 for all pbem files you wish to convert. 3. Install the 1.02 patch (make sure you have already installed the 1.01 patch) 4. Open CMBB Version 1.02 5. Open the saved game file from step 1. 6. Choose Email as the startup option for the saved game. 7. Place your orders as you normally would in a PBEM, and press "GO" 8. Congratulations! You have now converted your pbem file. 9. Repeat as necessary for any other files you need to covert..
  9. I thought that in a quick battle you had the option of buying reinforcements? I don't play many quick battles, and I have never tried to do buy reinforcements, but I thought the option was there...
  10. Exactly what CombinedArms said. This is technically the correct forum, BUT, not many people seem to visit here at all. I have seen very many scenario threads go up on the main CMBB forum, so I would think about posting it there. Still, a great idea... Still looking for someone to review my latest scenario at the depot (hint hint, check the sig)
  11. heh, I have all three... 1.00, 1.01 & 1.02... Have a very slow 1.00 PBEM which is just about finished...
  12. Yea, and I'm sure that if I supplied a picture of MadMatt, she'd believe me...
  13. umm, you weren't supposed to release this until tomorrow... I have a paper due at 9am tomorrow morning. How can I be expected not to try out the new patch? Huh? Well? Someone better answer me while its downloading...
  14. LOL... That last sentence is Grade-A sig material...
  15. Hey, one good thing is that they would HAVE to model horses... hehehe...
  16. It does. It was just posted to the wrong forum.
  17. Well I was going to ask you if I could include this line in my sig: "Nothing positive can possible come from your postings, and therefore they have no value what so ever." That should make me infamous enough on these boards dont you think? Otherwise I agree, lets drop the subject. </font>
  18. Correct. We have been saying for months now that 1.02 is the last planned patch. If, for some strange reason, some new model is added in a 1.03 patch it will certainly not be the IS-3. This thing really shouldn't even be in the game, and as long as there are vehicles that rightly are in the game which don't have correct models, such things as the IS-3 and T-44 will not be put ahead of them. Of course, this is accademic because we are moving on to do the new engine now full bore. We could be endlessly distracted by CMBB enhancements, so time to cut the cord. We spent WAY too long futzing around with CMBO and have learned from that (it delayed CMBB by at least 6 months). Steve </font>
