New Red Orchestra 2 info + screenshots

Crysis is the real deal, if you don't mind the sci-fi element. Also it takes a beefy rig to run it good too. There's also alot of custom maps and mods made for it as well, a very solid community. http://www.crymod.com/portal.php -

It should also be noted people in my age bracket have often been called the first videogame generation. Which is great and I still have fond memories of the Atari, Coleco, Intellivision, and the classic Apple II. But even for us to say "Well I grew up playing games and I'm fine!" statement isn't really valid when comparing the games. The violent videogame game debate didn't really start until about the early 90s. The hyper-realism violence found in todays games aren't even comparable to the old games. "Hey little Jimmy, would you like to play Pac-man or Call of Duty?" He'd probably look at you like you were nuts. But in the end it's about the parents raising the child. No study trumps this. If they let movies and games raise their child, then yeah there may be problems. -

A few things I always thought looked cheesy or out of place are the neon green icons and the manual/box art looks comic or cartoon-like. Not a deal breaker for sure, but certainly out of place for a simulation of modern warfare IMO. -
Scipio's NATO Interface Icons Mod
MeatEtr replied to MeatEtr's topic in Combat Mission Shock Force 1
Great to hear Scipio, as usual, very much looking forward to them. -
That kinda sucks to hear. Well if this would ever catch-on than maybe Tunngle would be the way to go. It could too if BF would make this a Sticky thread. Heck imagine if they made a MP Stickied thread going all the way back to the launch of CMSF in 2007. I think there would be many more regulars, or at the least make it common knowledge where to go to play online. Anyways, it was a fun game game we had the other day Ali. Although it was short and unfinished with all the unbearable lag. I see your BF profile says your in Greece which is a far cry from where I'm at here in the US. Maybe that's why we were lagging so much. Next time we get a chance, let's try and connect through Tunngle so see if we get better net performance. It's a worth a test anyway.

Ok so now on to the next obvious question. What's the ETA on the AFV/arty/airsupport icons? -
Cannot Download "Rescue" From Repository
MeatEtr replied to Sabot6's topic in Combat Mission Shock Force 1
I'm using Firefox 3.6 with zero problems. By the way, you do have a zip program right Sabot, like WinZip or WinRAR? I use 7-Zip myself. http://www.7-zip.org/ -
You should seriously consider upgrading, myself and many others are still playing CMAK/CMBB with newer hardware. Like in my case I'm on Vista 32-bit with Nvidia 9800GTX+ card with no problems. They also got a upgrade you can buy I think for like $5 to help with the driver problems. If you need it, I don't. Come join the rest of the world, your gonna have to soon anyway with CMN coming out.

So I suppose for now on all RO threads need a warning of: "Not for the squeamish like diesel!". -
I was so upset last night I could hardly sleep. It's all your fault. But all you say is your sorry? Now that's pathetic, not nearly enough. However, I do have a Paypal account setup, you could give me monetary compensation, yes?

Scipio's NATO Interface Icons Mod
MeatEtr replied to MeatEtr's topic in Combat Mission Shock Force 1
Is this mod still not available? It's been over 24 hrs too! Come on BF boys, this is why we pay you to work weekends too. -
Just a few threads below this was already posted: Try a search or at the very least check the front page threads.

Your downloading the actual link and not the file itself. After clicking on the download link you need to put a check mark in the box to agree to the terms. Then click on the download link and the dl box should pop up prompting you to choose where to save the file. If for some reason it doesn't then right-click on it and choose "Save link as..". -
Feature request... forced crouching/standing
MeatEtr replied to noxnoctum's topic in Combat Mission Shock Force 1
+1 to this feature request, a choice in posture would be great. Hate having to use a move command for them to see an enemy and engage them. This can and does cause unnecessary casualties. -
Scipio's NATO Interface Icons Mod
MeatEtr replied to MeatEtr's topic in Combat Mission Shock Force 1
Awesome, I wasn't expecting this mod so soon. Thanks a lot Scipio, you rock! -
Here's a quote from Berto on the first page of the thread. http://www.tunngle.net/en/downloads/
-
Well I don't know about that since there can only be 16 users at a time. Unless somebody buys the commercial version and then we get 256 users. Tunngle works well already and it supports 255 users right now.

It's not working for me, it keeps saying the Hamachi server has denied your logon request. Edit: Ok I'm in, I had to do this to logon correctly: https://logmeinsupport.com/kblive/crm/selfservice/displaywh.jsp?DocId=938&SecMode=1
