  1. Thanks for being honourable about this. The sticky thread and offer of cancellation removes any annoyance on my part. I will ride my luck and see what happens. I know the game will be worth it whatever I end up paying.
  2. I disagree. I know all about fees for importing goods so I don't do it. If Battlefront changed their shipping method (to one different from all previous releases and much more expensive for non US customers) and failed to make this clear to customers I am perfectly entitled to be annoyed about it. Someone from Battlefront please confirm what the case is and if necessary I will change my order to download, the only sensible option for non US customers if shipping policy has changed.
  3. It is worse than that! I have experienced this before. The post office will refuse to release the item to you until you pay the VAT proabably circa £10 and charge you a fee for paying the VAT on your behalf. The last time this happened to me it was £7.50 fee and this was several years ago. I would never dream of shipping anything into the UK now.
  4. Am I right that the only way to get the 1.3 patch applied to CMSF, marines and brits is to buy the NATO module? Is this temporary? Will the 1.3 patch be released for general download soon?
  5. In the first mission of the campaign do you have to eliminate every enemy unit in the town to get that victory condition? In the second mission what are the tactics. Ambushing from the hill seems useless. The ditch on the right seems a good place for the second group of units. Should I move the hill units this way too? Basically any help on either scenario much appreciated.
  6. Good point I hadn't thought about the server shutting down. Hopefully it would be such a success Battlefront would never want to pull the plug. Sure we can manage to email a file back and forth, can we be bothered, is the more relevant question. I played a handful of PBEM games on the original CM. Maybe things have improved, it all seemed desperately clunky. I have played far more multiplayer games of FOG PC in a few weeks than I ever did of CM. The AI is weak but the multiplayer lifts the game to a whole new level and I am sure the ease of playing multiplayer is big draw for a lot of purchasers. I was able to say to members of my gaming club, hey this is really good because of the multiplayer, and they went and bought it.
  7. I have been enjoying multiplayer games of a well known Ancients table top wargaming system now available on the PC. I am not very technically minded but I understand they are "hosting" the games so that when you start multiplayer if your opponent has played a turn, the game is sitting waiting for you in your saved games. In other words no messing around sending or receiving game files. Seems like a pretty revolutionary improvement to me. Would this be possible with any of the CM2 games or just an impossible pipe dream?
  8. Can anybody explain spotting to me? I am playing at veteran level and I understand spotting is per unit, not per side but... Invariably Unit A sees lots of ? representing possible enemy units. I send Unit B up to investigate. It is closer, sometimes even actually on the supposed enemy position not under fire or any pressure and sees nothing where Unit A sees a potential enemy. Which is right? I am thinking it has to be unit B. Also when I don't select any unit how does the computer decide which enemy icons to display and whether these are type icons or ? unknowns. This confusion is really hampering my enjoyment of the game as I can never decide if I have cleared an area or not. If I played at basic level would spotting revert back to what it was in the CMX1 games?
