3. Manx, don't pay too much attention to the loud MINORITY. Those self-centred-legend-in-their-own-minds can just find a stake and sit on it to get themselves off. The silent MAJORITY has spoken here, and we appreciate what you have provided to us. Keep up the good work. AND, do what you should have done to those emails condemning your work. READ them, have a good laugh, and DELETE them.
 4. I don't know how much it cost BTS to produce the game and put it on the CD. But I can tell you Electronic Arts pays about 20 bucks per CD they make. If we go by this logic, you're paying $10 to BTS for an extremely good game. You don't pay for the packaging. You don't pay for the marketing. I personally have no problem paying the 55 bucks (damn the low Canadian dollar value  ). If you have hang around this message board as long as you say you have, then you must have seen all the replys BTS made to some suggestions made by players, you'll appreciate them even more. Kudos to BTS for a great product and a great support. And hey, don't forget those hard working modders, making this game even more enjoyable.
 5. a lifetime of a CD is about 10 years. By the time the CD wears out, BTS will probably release CMXXX:Conquest of Earth.

 7. another kill from FJ team using grenades I apologize for that stupid Hypersnap stamp
 8. or try www.7host.com Free service, 50 megs, homepage, asp, FTP. 'nuff said.
 9.
quote:
Originally posted by Jarmo: I believe the squads didn't really carry around too many self made bombettes.

True, they don't carry self made explosives. But that fallen team of Panzerschrek should have something to be scrounged. I thought that was the idea of LOW status in your ammo box.
 10. here is my hardest fighting unit. The whole platoon had 20+ kills each, and held out against a whole company (including SMG platoons)
 11. Malvinas is another name for the Falklands Islands, I think. I could be wrong, but I have seen it in several places where they call it "Falklands/Malvinas"

 13. I agree. I don't believe a grenade is powerful enough to disable a tank. What you really need is something more powerful, like engineers explosives, plastiques, TNT, or Shaped-charge explosives. But since we're talking about abstraction, we can assume that they scrounge up some decent explosives to do the job.
 14.
quote:
Originally posted by Scipio: I don't see the great advantage of Crack or Elite troops in CM.

I have to disagree here. I just played a QB night mission. Yanks with Elite 44 Rifle Company. I have Veteran Heer Rifle Company, with Infantry guns support. They just cleaned my clock. They hit hard, and they hit often!!! Mind you, they found a gap in my defense and exploited it. I didn't know they could do that.
 15.
quote:
Originally posted by highlife: There are separate bmps for Heer and SS except for the helmet 5015. 5019 is the side bmp for the Heer uniform. You can copy 5029 and rename it 5019 for the missing file in the mod download.

Yeppers. that's what I did. For someone with less experience, they may not have known this.
 16. Hi Andrew, I LOVE the pack. Thanks much for your hard work. For the grey uniform, you have 5029.bmp as the side torso. However, in my system it's actually 5019.bmp that defines the side torso. did you named it incorrectly? or do I have a problem with my bitmap directory?
 17.
quote:
Originally posted by David Aitken: There are various things a tank can do to fight off infantry. CM does not model a tank, for example, reversing quickly to get a snap shot with its MGs, or indeed attempting to drive over the infantry. Its ability to kill the infantry may be limited, but its ability to make life difficult for them is considerable. BTS have doubtlessly taken such things into account when abstracting the close-assault routine.

y'know, I'm starting to come around to your way of thinking. Of all the time I close assault the AFV's, I don't remember they use the main guns against the grunts. And for that, I guess I can live with getting cut down by machine guns. what David Aitken said makes sense, I suppose, but I usually don't close assault AFVs with them not immobilized first.
 18. it depends on what the situation is. If I'm defending, then definitely, Stealth. If Attacking then, Command and Moral. Combat is always a plus, not my first choice.
 19. I was just using SPR as an example. My point is that the tank should not be targeting the in-close infantry. It either die (eventually), or try to run away. The QB that I was playing was "One foggy Christmas night..." And Panzerman, I killed lots of tanks with grenades. Just move you squad to the back of the tank. Make sure the tank is immobolize first. Tanks really like it when you assault them up the ass
 20. I'm sure this has been brought up before...but. when the infantry is within, say, 10 metres, no grunt is stupid enough to stand in front of a MG or a turret to get shot. Yet, I had some FJ squad within 10 metres, and lost 2 guys before one of the grenades finally took out the Sherman. So, it should be that, the tank will not be able to fight back if it gets caught in a close up assault by infantry. Please refer to Saving Private Ryan to see how that was done.

 22. Will we be able to have more than 2 players in a multiplayer game? I mean like having up to 4. So each side would have 2 distinct commanders on each flank. At the Battalion level play, I think 2 users on each side would represent the command of each company by a different commander. just a thought.
 23. Canada has just unveil a new National War Memorial today. I think it's in Ottawa. I only caught a snipette of it on the news. A moment of silent, please, for the men and women who gave everything in the name of Peace and Liberty.
 24. I have just gone from playing Germs exclusively to Canadian Scenarios and Campaigns. If you have some, especially MODS, please tell me where to go to get them. I got most of my Canadian stuff from Michael Dorosh (hope I got his name right)
