What anti-russian reaction? With the exception of the narrow turret modifier being discussed here (which I agree with), all the data here is historically exactly the way it was. There are no gameplay balance adjustments to make German guns better, they are better because they really were. What range were your T-34s lost at? German tanks typically opened fire at 1500m which they considered a good range for a first round hit. Theres plenty of examples out there of 5km plus kills as well, so I see nothing wrong with the gunnery model other than turret front issues.

Yep it worked getting it into the registry. The first I goofed up by using the 1x AGP and that messed it up bad. I booted into VGA mode via the safe mode screen and switched the value to 2 and my system was stable again. The card manual didnt say anything about deleting the old drivers so I didn't do it. After 15 minutes or so it crashed again and now freezes during the boot process in the middle of a disk check. I can't even get to windows at all. My system has always been horribly unstable so there's probably a whole bunch of other problems going on. Edit: It feezes while trying to load MUP.sys when I boot into safe mode. Edit of Edit: It boots into safe mode now and I reinstalled the TNT2 drivers, but it's still freezing when I try load my desktop. [ October 18, 2002, 05:14 PM: Message edited by: panzerwerfer42 ]

I think it just got worse. It may be caused by something else now. It was fine for half an hour or so then it jsut started going nuts. Safe mode isn't helping this time. I'm thinking I need to reinstall my OS.

Yikes that was a close one. I did indeed force it into 1x, and eventually got it fixed by booting in safe mode with vga mode. Then I reapplied the 2x string and it worked.

Problem solved. I booted in safe mode with vga mode enabled and fixed the registry string.

Woohoo! The safe mode did it. I had to boot in VGA mode then fix the string in the registry i messed up. Thanks all!

Oops I wasn't very clear. It will POST, and will usually get to a disk check where it promptly freezes. I merged a new entry into the registry as shown in another thread here, and I think I forced the board into 1x AGP which Idoubt it's capable of.

No I'm not getting any options to. And tech forum is way too slow, thats why I posted here. I need to get this fixed tonight or else i'm in some deep doo-doo. It turns on the right away runs scan disk, taking 10 minutes to do that, and then it goes to the login, and promptly freezes. Anyone know of a way to boot up my system after I screw up something in the registry? Specifically I tried to force my board to run AGP 2x, as it was suggested this may help my upgrade probs. But I messed it up somewhere and now I can't boot with either the new Ti4600 or the old TNT 2. I'm using a Compaq 7000US series, OS is XP. :eek: I can't boot anymore! Is there any way at all i can revert back to my original registry? Im thinking I accidentally copied the 1x one, but im pretty sure I copied the 2x file.

I've had the same experience with the AI usings its only 105 spotter to prep barrage a widerly dispersed T-34 platoon.

While playing the Korsun Relief scenario I encountered some bizarre behavior from the hull down command. I ordered 2 tanks to enter a hull down position. It only allows 1 waypoint, but the next turn the AI plotted out both as 4 waypoint hull down movements! The end one is in the position I chose but the rest aren't. I've got the saved file and a screenshot if someone can tell where to get it hosted.

I thought infantry can only command infantry units, and armor commands only its platoon. Im playing an operation where a platoon of ISU-152s lost their platoon commander and they are now under the command influence of an SMG platoon HQ. Is this how it's supposed to work?

Are vehicles taken off the map if they are immobilized? I had two SU-152s immobilized in fords in one op and they disappeared even though the fords were still on the map for the next battle. Can i expect them back the next op?

The T-34 was called by several of the big name German generals the best tank in the world in 1941. In the fall of '42 up-gunned german AFVs started to appear and rapidly put the T-34 down a few notches. The T-34 was really only king for the first year of the war, after that it fell way down the armor food chain. Most people who think its the best tank of the war have only seen the quotes from the first year and don't see the rest where the big cats ruled the battlefield.

Just the crew. They're just laying down on the bottom of the gun pit. The gun is too heavy to move around to hide it.

Usually it's about .5 inch in diamter. Not sure if they were lead balls or steel. Either way that would pack one hell of a wallop.

Are you insane? The book is one of the most exciting i've ever read. It's not meant to have any techinical info in it. It's purely about the actions the subjects took part in. It's got a bit of fictional stuff because most of it's based off of the medal citations. However portions of it are quoted from interviews with the veterans. The section on Ribbentrop in particular has alot of him telling the story.

Quad .50 cal mounts were ocasionally used for indirect interdection in korea. The denied an area approximately a football field in size. The british also used indirect MG fire in both world wars.
