  1. My favorite is to innocently mention during setup how much I like the new King Tiger/JagdTiger/Elefant mod. jw
  2. Hi Astrocat, I just did a fresh install of CMMOS; added both the panzers rulesets, and then downloaded and installed Andrew's Grey Marder with no problem. On viewing the mod in the scenario editor, I notice I am not seeing the German cross... which leads me to believe Astrocat is right; the new mod may not be showing up. Perhaps Mike can look into it jw jw [ February 25, 2003, 09:36 AM: Message edited by: jwxspoon ]

  5. To All: CMHQ will indeed continue to be the source for CMMOS mods. Beginning tomorrow, the first of a weekly series of updates will be released at CMHQ. Stay tuned. jw
  6. Stop by CMHQ this weekend. I have just finished posting this week's historical news and an important update for members of BoB. Later this weekend will come the first of a series of CMMOS updates. Combat Mission HQ jw
  7. That's a good point Garry. I guess it depends upon the scenario designer and the engagement; sometimes the command delays can make a Green or Conscript early war Russian tank virtually unusable in the limited time context of the game. BTW, will probably be having a Myrtle Beach CM get together this upcoming summer. Hope you can make it down again! jw
  8. I have killed HT's with top penetrations from a 50mm mortar in CMBB. jw
  9. Hey Holien, Ahh, I didn't see that implication in the thread, I was looking at it more from a technical problem standpoint. It's certainly not unreasonable to want a level playing field; that being said, I simply ask my opponents to make sure we are both playing on 1.02 if there is an issue. I wouldn't play anyone I didn't think I could trust in that respect. However I do see your point. jw
  10. I guess I don't really undestand what the problem is... so you can play 1.02 files in 1.01. OK, and you can play 1.01 files in 1.02... OK. So where is the problem? Why would someone want to continue playing in 1.01 when 1.02 is out and there are no problems created by the use of the patch? I had the opportunity to beta test the 1.02 patch and had no compatibility problems with either 1.01 and 1.02; in fact I have multiple versions of CMBB on my hard drive in order to play diferent versions, etc. Now all my PBEM games are 'upgraded' to 1.02 AFAIK. If one of my opponents hasn't upgraded, I have no way of knowing, but I don't really care if they have or not as long as the game loads and plays. jw [ February 21, 2003, 08:17 AM: Message edited by: jwxspoon ]

  16. The Boots & Tracks team is working on a mini campaign to be played single player against the AI, a series of half a dozen battles to be played as either the Russians or Germsn (two separate 'career' tracks). These campaigns will culminate in a large 2 player battle utilizing both campaigns. jw ** Edited for lack of grammar [ February 14, 2003, 08:52 AM: Message edited by: jwxspoon ]
  17. This thread reminds me of those cars you see driving down the road with the turn signal constantly on as the car drives straight for miles. You follow people like that thinking, "What is this guy's problem?" Maj. Shostokovich, prepare youself. Here is the truth: CMBB IS NOT AN ENGINE REWRITE!!!! IT IS AN UPGRADE OF THE EXISTING ENGINE!!!! MANY GAME IMPROVING TWEAKS WERE MADE, BUT IT IS STILL THE SAME ENGINE AS CMBO!!!! This has been quite clear to most of us for some time. The next Combat Mission game WILL incorporate an engine rewrite. Please turn off that damned turn signal. jw [ February 11, 2003, 08:25 AM: Message edited by: jwxspoon ]
