  1. Math grog. I think if you plot this it will show a trend of suck-a-tude unmatched by all but MolassasTurnrate</font>
  2. Well, the bottom fell out of this thread really fast. Pro wrestling rears its ugly head already? What next, pictures of a bridge tournament or ballroom dancing?
  3. Ah, but I shall blame all mistakes on MrSpkr as I'm sure he'll blame them on me.</font>
  4. I have discovered that when I'm playing the Axis side, my gamey opponents have had great success by moving their swarms of T-34s to 30-50 meters range and blasting my infantry with canister.  Mortars and artillery can also be effective, as well as concentrated small arms and machine gun fire. Ideally some combination will work best.
  5. So..... when you going to start? Mace</font>
  6. I sure can't improve on what Brother Keke has said. <big>"So shall it be written; so shall it be done."</big> (My favorite Yul Bryner as Ramses quotation)
  7. Tsk, tsk. I used to think you were above the lumpenposters here Seanachai (not by much, mind you) but I must reconsider my position after your use of "it's" as the possessive form of the word thread. And yet another of my cultural icons crumbles to dust. *sniff* Nihilism has never looked so appealing.</font>
  8. You mean tripods that run on their own? Something like the Martian tripods in "War of the Worlds"? Yes, I want that, too! I'll be satisfied with the Jeeps that slug it out with German tanks and halftracks, just like "The Rat Patrol".
  9. Do I hear a fat lady singing for the CMBB Forum Cheery Waffle? Axe, you should change the title to your thread in the new forum. It has been hijacked by some ne'er-do-wells, and I'm not just talking about Mr. Peng.
  10. Gentlemen, always nice to find some familiar faces in a new place. Maybe not these particular faces, but I'm sure someone less objectionable will turn up eventually. Let's do our best to get CMAK off to a good start. Jim and I are doing our best desert-without-dust-clouds impression with CMBB. My Matildas and Valentines are searching high and low for his King Tigers or whatever panzers he has. Unfortunately we haven't been able to find him yet. Maybe I'll lay an ambush for him. Only one problem - which of the SEVEN freaking VLs will I watch, with only five tanks? GRARGGHRARGGRAGHRRAGHRRAGRHARGGH!!!
  11. Becket, I am in awe! I never thought of changing my sig and then turning the sig line off when I had my little squabble with mike_the_wino and his alter ego, Mike the wino2. Leave it to a Washington DC attorney to find another loophole. Sir, I salute you! And MasterGoodale, I'm glad to see you can appreciate a master at work. Becket may be taking away everything you think you have won, but he's doing it with style.
  12. Abbott, any chance you could send me the scenario "Attack at Tasomething"? so my uber-Germans can run roughshod over Becket's pathetic Soviets? Or possibly so my crushed Germans can cower from Becket's mighty Soviets. Either way, can you send me the set-up?
  13. With the emphasis already put on low member numbers by certain "special" people, adding another number to the member's displayed information would make the problem even worse. We've all seen to what lengths one member would go to make his quota of however-many thousand posts in a year. This is not something to encourage. This is sig-worthy material. Once I finish displaying whatever sig MasterGoodale will be imposing, I'd like to use this. Would that be okay with you, Firefly?
  14. Good morning, maggots!! And I use the term loosely, not wanting to offend any real maggots or their fanboyz! I considered the likelihood of each of these and determined: a. Very possible. b. How could anyone tell? c. What woman would give up an illegal immigrant migrant worker for mike? d. Very possible. e. Too much to ask for. Becket, did you receive my e-mail last night? I don't know where the scenario you mentioned can be found. Did you just make up a title? I have three BDLRM players who have finished 19 of the 20 turns. I suspect all of them (mike_the_gamey_whiner, MasterNoTurndale, and the ever-suave Teddy Windsor) are afraid to see their final score. Each of them thinks they have won a huge victory over me, but will it be enough to outscore the other Russian players? If any of them ever sends a turn we'll find out. I sent an e-mail to Admiral Keth yesterday concerning the Depot ratings of "Road to Moscow" by burt and derek. I thought the other ratings after theirs were just as obviously bogus. Actually, I thought the "Eric Young" rating was legit, but I wondered how he had found time to play the scenario if he's working on his own game. Then Axe mentioned the link to matrix games was a phony, so I suppose that one is fake, too. Anyway, I believe Abbott's scenario doesn't need that kind of boost. It can stand on its own merit, as long as the obvious attacks on Abbott himself are rooted out. Okay, soapbox back into storage.
  15. Should the name Eric Young mean something to me? It doesn't. Oh well, let's see what's happening at the Scenario Depot.
  16. Becket, welcome to the "I Surrendered to MasterGoodale and Discovered CMBB can Actually be Fun!" club. Since now you've got an opening in your PBEM schedule, are you available for a small Abbott scenario?
  17. I know the feeling. I'm enjoying watching your machine gun carriers pop smoke and back closer and closer to the map edge. Will they still be on the map as the VL turns German? Wait and see. Maggot.
  18. I did, however, add in the Indiana 5th Infantry Division -- the "Yodelling Hoosiers" -- and, of course, the 103rd "Bloomington Butterflies."</font>
  19. Good morning, maggots!! MasterGoodale, who you may recall posted yesterday that we would finish our PBEM last night, graciously provided me with 1 (one) turn yesterday. At this blinding rate (for him), we will finish in a few more days. Teddy, mike_the_merciless, and MasterGoodale are all on the verge of completing the 20 turn BDLRM. It's difficult to predict who will compile the highest score, as all three have bludgeoned my Germans like so many baby seals. I do think mike is enjoying it more than the others. I posted in another thread somewhere that I was a bit apprehensive about CMAK. After getting a much better feel for the Eastern Front from CMBB, the whole Mediterranean Theater seems almost trivial. After fielding KVs and T-34s as the Soviets, do I really want to piddle around with contemporary clunkers like Matildas and Grants? Especially knowing that the big battles fought in North Africa, Sicily, and Italy would have been so many skirmishes in the East. I'm sure I'll get CMAK, because the graphics are outstanding and I'm positive the gameplay will be at least as good as CMBB. The quality of the briefings remains to be seen, however, since I suspect one of the editors will have deleted all references to anything but Canadian troops for the Allies.
  20. Excuse me if I don't rush right home and wait by the computer for your e-mail. I've heard this story way too many times to get very worked up. Don't you think knowing that I lost to you is an abomination all by itself? Trust me, there's nothing I will post in my sig line that could be worse.
  21. This is too much. I finally win a battle, and it turns out to be in a scenario where my side always wins! Well, I'm sure the new Russian units could do as much damage as half of my T-34s did, so maybe it wouldn't be a total disaster. On the other hand, I don't think the German player is going to be nearly as concerned about a few extra infantry as he is by a T-34. I need to dig up that "Worst CM Commander" thread to find some new PBEM opponents.
  22. Hey Axe, if we are arch-enemies now, does that mean we get to wear spandex costumes showing off our rippling muscles? Not to mention having all kinds of neat gadgets, gorgeous women hanging around the secret hideout, and lots of henchmen to handle henches or whatever it is they do?  I've never been an arch-enemy before, so is there someplace I could find out about this? Like maybe a book "Arch-enemies for Dummies" or something? If I'm going to do this, I want to do it right. A Canadian maggot like you deserves to have the very best arch-enemy I can be. Abbott, you made the Russians weaker in "Road to Moscow"?? If they had been any weaker Axe would be burning the Kremlin right now!
  23. Abbott, I just posted my review of the "Road to Moscow" at the Depot. Axe and I had a great time playing it, and the advantage kept shifting from one side to the other. I was lucky enough to hang on against him, but the maggot kept throwing yet another panzer at me over and over again. They were crawling out of the woodwork all around me. I need to download the new map, but I'll admit I took advantage of the bridge next to the factory as a defensive strongpoint. If it's gone, that will be another tough spot to defend. Our game could have gone either way until I finally shot his last panzer in the back, with one last sneaky T-34. Talk about feeling relieved!
