  1. Edited to say: I thought I made a late-war Partisan mod... Maybe it was lost in the Great Crash and never reposted. Let me check my files and see if I can find it. But I'm obviously going insane because I can't find any evidence of late-war Partisans on my HD, so maybe I didn't mod them after all. [ October 25, 2004, 08:17 AM: Message edited by: AndrewTF ]
  2. I normally just sort of ignore requests, but I decided this one would be pretty easy as I just uses pieces-parts of my other uniform mods, recoloring and adding insigina where necessary. I think this was the one CMBB uniform I hadn't modded, too. The longest part of the process was the research.
  3. Who said I never took mod requests (uh, I did )? The new Volkssturm uniform mod is ready for download at the CM Mod Database! Squads and support units wear a mix of civilian clothes and M43 uniforms, so at least they look good when being routed by the Soviets. As with the original game textures, the platoon and coy/bn HQs wear Schutzpolizei and NSDAP political official uniforms, respectively. I've added a bit more detail and historically accurate insignia, although I'm not sure exactly what the NSDAP party guy is supposed to be (I started to research it but didn't have the stomach to wade through the bunch of Nazi crap that Google churned up). And I even made a single-button field cap as requested. Yet another example of the unparalleled customer service that I'm so famous for--and I don't even get paid for this! Here's the obligatory screen shot of the finished product: You'll have to go download it to see all the cool details and things.
  4. Im sure he meant to say "save" and not "same". Im hoping him or someone can help me out. </font>
  5. I'd love to see that look in CM, but obviously it's not going to happen at this time. I debated trying to make a civvie clothes version of the Volkssturm, but decided it would look silly. Right now the three men depicting the squad are uniform in appearance and thus look better wearing uniforms.
  6. Ok--how are these? First one is Volkssturm squad with M43 uniform and webbing Y-straps. Second is support units which are slightly different. Both have civilian clothes under their tunics. I liked the look of the policeman for the Volkssturm platoon CO, so I kept it but added a bit more detail than on the original. There are two different armbands. If you don't like one you can copy and renumber the one you do like. I might just include both as options in a separate folder. I still haven't done the company CO Nazi guy yet. I did manage to find the Hitlerjugend Battle of Berlin mod. It's not very successful but if demand exists I may make it available. It looks a little strange when the old guy faces come up, and the platoon CO shares the cap BMP so he looks a little odd with his Polizei uniform and HJ ski cap.

  8. I started a Volkssturm uniform mod but never finished it. At one point a made a "Battle of Berlin" Hitlerjugend Volkssturm mod for CMBB but it looked weird and I think I trash canned it in a fit of frustration I could probably put one together pretty quickly out of my existing German uniform template.
  9. Thanks to everyone for their help. Mr. Tittles--you can e-mail me through the forum.
  10. Avtually they show the unique gun action in different positions. Would you like a snapshot of the back of the gun? The bAck of the gunshield has a very detailed firing chart printed on it btw. </font>
  11. Well, the pieces DO make the whole, don't they? Those would be very useful to see.
  12. Anybody got any? I've scoured the Web using every permutation of the name imaginable but the image resources out there are pretty weak, and I'm too lazy and/or cheap to go to the library or buy a book. If anyone has any pix of details of this gun (other than the outer gun shield) that they could send my way that would be swell. Yes, I'm modding it, thanks for asking.
  13. I don't plan on doing it, so feel free to winterize away!
  14. Thanks, Marcus. The original BMP for that part of the gun looks similar to the BMP that I made so I forgot to include it! The gun will more or less look the same without my updated version so I doubt anyone will notice it. I'll update the mod at CMMods.com just the same, though.
  15. Thanks for you help in getting the BMP numbers. 4000.bmp is not for the breach block top on this gun, though. Through trial and error I found it was 4016.bmp. I think I modded a few BMPs from the 75mm leIG 18 by accident so maybe that should be next on my list!
  16. I don't make my mods CMMOS-compatible because I use a Mac and can't use CMMOS. If someone would like to adapt the mod to CMMOS format then go ahead. I personally don't have a problem overwriting the original files, although I usually make a backup just in case. If it's something I know I'll want to use forever and ever (like one of MikeyD's StuG's or T-34s, for example) then I won't bother with a backup.
  17. Get them at the CM Mod Database! Totally new from-scratch rebuild of the German 150mm heavy infantry gun. A much needed replacement for the original game art, which was of CMBO vintage. Contains both early Panzer gray and mid/late-war versions. Cool new Heer uniform mods not included. A CMAK version of the mod is available. Pix and stuff are at the CMAK forum.
  18. Available now at the CM Mod Database!. Totally new from-scratch BMPs are a big improvement over the original art which dated back to the days of CMBO. I finally managed to find all the missing BMPs that went into this thing, too. Both Afrika Korps and Italian theater versions are included. CMBB versions are also available. If you want to see screenshots of them you'll have to go to the CMBB forum.
  19. Hijack away, I don't mind The 150mm, in CMAK and CMBB version is ready, except I can't find which BMPs control the textures for the top of the breach block and the breach itself. I'll keep looking. I have new textures for them in the mod folder on my HD, but obviously something's wrong since they're not showing up in the game. If someone with a lot of time on his hand wants to take a look through the BMP folder for them that would be a big help.
  20. i like them, Pat. Are they adaptations of the OSF buildings? I've looked at those for CMBB. They're pretty nice, although I have a problem with some of the perspective tricks used. They look amazing from the proper angle but bizarre from others. I'm trying to eliminate that in this mod. It's a comprimise. I'll post more WIP pix as I progress.
  21. This one hasn't been too tough, at least not yet. I think I put about 2 1/2 hours into it so far, so that's not to bad. I might change my mind when I start "damaging" the thing. I think I'll make a stucco farmhouse and another stone one, and maybe tackle an Italian Romanesque church, so stay tuned for more previews. Any comments or suggestions are welcome, especially since I'm still adding detail to this first building.
  22. It's my first building mod! I decided to make something that was more representative of the rural buildings found in central and northern Italy. While the original CMAK art looks good in an town or city setting, I think the tall buildings look a little funny in a rural or small village environment. The building mod was built "from scratch" using photos of farmhouses from Umbria and Tuscany as models. I'm not sure if I'm happy with it or not, especially when I look at the stuff Juju, MikeyD, and Tanks are doing. It does look way better in game. One of the things I'm wrestling with is what I call the "CM 3D Problem" (duh), where showing building features in a 3D/trompe l'oeil manner only really works from one viewing angle. I drew every element as if viewed straight-on so they look relatively decent from almost any angle. I don't know if this is the best way to go or not. Anybody see any use for this? Should I keep working on them? If so I'll make two more buildings appropriate for the setting, as well as the necessary damaged and winter versions.
  23. Not my work. I think Jorge MC or someone did the hooded faces. Unfortunately there's no way to make "winter" faces appear when snow's on the ground like with other BMPs so you have to swap them out with the standard ones.
  24. Thanks!, And yes, they're supposed to look like trousers made from Italian camouflage material. It's an option in my recent "reed green" Heer uniform set. They're based on several period photos of soldiers wearing the same in Italy.
