  1. But you're not actually 'hull down' to it, are you? The turret seems to be facing away and the side of the tank has been hit. So you're not 'hull down' to the tank that's firing at you, you're hull down to some threat off on the left.
  2. He may already have it. Soddball, the song I sent to m_t_w was "Fire" by The Crazy World of Arthur Brown. Are you familiar with it? It just seemed to fit your Inferno scenario perfectly. Maybe you could add it to the briefing? "I am the god of hellfire, and I bring you - FIRE!" </font>
  3. Yes, in CM:BB you'll really hear the Tiger roar. What was more surprising for me was the punishing my StuGs hand out in CM:BB - knocking out IS-2 tanks at under 500m and routinely carving up entire T-34 platoons.
  4. I have finished designing and am now playtesting a 120-turn, 22,000 point scenario on a map 4km long by 2km wide (approximately). It works out at around a regiment of Russian infantry on the attack. The AI doesn't advance quickly enough on the attack, but is doing sterling work on the defence. It's not a foggy, night scenario, filled with flamethrowers though, unlike some of my other evil efforts.
  5. I have a metric buttload of work to do at the moment. All you hoors waiting for turns can wait a little longer until the insanity subsides.
  6. You don't seem to understand. The difference in height cannot be less than 1.25m. That's the smallest possible height difference on a CM:BB map. Go to the scenario editor and try it out.
  7. Soddball, maybe if you looked at that picture, you'd see that the tank has a LOS to the building. First of all, the building is clearly visible from the tank, and secondly, the game agrees with this because otherwise the tank wouldn't be firing. If you don't have anything valuable or constructive to this discussion, you could as well leave it. </font>
  8. Whatever the apparent 'problems', I believe that it's more realistic than CM:BO, where AT guns had the life expectancy of a l33t 5sp33k d00d in a Bren Gun Tripod Thread. Perhaps people should bear that in mind too.
  9. The absolute minimum that "20cm sinkhole" can be is 1.25m if we're talking about the smalles possible elevation change in CM. More likely it's a 2.5m (standard elevation) change - which to me looks like the height (roughly) of one storey of a house (not including the roof). Is that a one-storey house you're firing at?
  10. Hoozyerdaddy. I'm not even getting involved in this story. Nearly time to move the FAQ.
  11. It's just a shame a whiny fagboy like you can spend 2 days composing waste-of-space crud on the forum, using that little metal straw sellotaped to your forehead to tap out commands on the dribble-proof keyboard, instead of sending me my DAMN TURN!!!!!
  12. I can't believe that anyone would consider this a bug. People are attacking dug-in anti-tank guns with the very weapon those guns are designed to face, and then complaining when the anti-tank guns carve a swathe through them? Please. If you didn't bring onboard mortars or mortar spotters with you, I have no sympathy. Combined arms, kinder, that's the name of the game. I've used a single 50mm mortar to put a pair of AT guns in tall pines out with its ammo load of 30HE. It's not difficult.
  13. I can see where BadgerDog is coming from on this, and what he is saying (since he's someone with experience of tank gunning) seems quite sensible. Considering that the crack and elite crew were able to fire sooner than the regular crew in the tests I ran (which were identical to Pud's tests) I (as an ignoramus with no tanking or programming knowledge) will keep quiet about my opinion until more experts turn up.
  14. I just had a go with a Panzer IVJ against an Su-76. The same thing occurs. Interestingly, it also occured with a 'move' order about 90 degrees.
  15. Pud, I just tried the design you posted on here, firstly with a crack crew, then with an elite crew. The crack crew opened fire with the machine gun after 24 seconds, and the elite crew opened fire with the machine gun after 20 seconds. Both tanks held off for another 5 or 6 seconds before firing the 85mm shell. I wonder if it's something to do with how difficult the shot is to take whilst the hull is rotating?
  16. I'm trying to replicate the problem you're describing through the scenario editor but I can't. I managed to get a T34 to rotate and fire, and get it to reverse and fire. Can you email your 'test' scenario over to me and I'll see if I can understand what you're doing?
  17. Edited becuz i no red so gude. [ February 27, 2003, 06:26 AM: Message edited by: Soddball ]
  18. That was - what - 2 months ago? Read the FAQ thread - it will answer all the questions that you currently have and will save you opening up "WTF" threads on a regular basis.
