  1. yes, and what about the French white flag carriers? (Oops, sorry!)
  2. Did anyone play the huge ops created by Nils Eichenbaum a while back? The scenarios were wonderful, historically based and really well implemented. Sadly, the whole op was never completed. Too demanding on one guy. It would be great to see that included in cmc.
  3. Oh, something else (sorry). Please add: more scenarios/ops at medium and large size. Cut the huge ones.
  4. I'd like to see: 1) a full campaign system, and/or more extended ops. 2)Continuous action (at least as an option), with the option to pause, but NOT the current stop-a-minute play. 3) I know it's kinda trivial, but full visuals for squads, not three-to-a-tile, which looks a bit cartoonish. 4)Expanded Victory Conditions, as per others' suggestions here. 5) Yes, convoy commands, with stick to roads options.
  5. Great battle so far, and tough! I'm on turn ten, against the AI, Soviets. It's a beautiful map, and a really punishing scenario. I've already lost one flank. Keep 'em coming!
  6. Hi Franco, I'd love a copy too. philwil@chug.screaming.net many thanks phil
  7. Is it possible to give a unit being transported on a vehicle a Disembark order before the vehicle moves? That is, eg, I want a truck to travel from A to B and the transported infantry to leap off when it gets there. I've tried it using a Pause order for the transported unit, but it doesn't accept pause.
  8. Fab screenshot, Nils. But when am I gonna be in there? Pleeze!
  9. Spayor, if you'd read the thread here and the tech support threads on Eichenbaum's site you'd have known there has been a problem, and also that there are ways around it. It's a bit negative to just charge in and cry 'Foul' like that without checking the facts. The Eichenbaum team have put in an incredible amount of work FOR FREE and produced a stunning series of battles, which is planned to grow and grow into a huge continuing campaign. I've played the early ones and they are amazing. Most who've tried them agree. There's been a bug, yes, which did affect CMBB. It seems to be largely sorted now - you can download the fix at Eichenbaum.org You may have to re-install CMBB, but nothing has been corrupted. Keep a copy of your CMBB bmp's, just in case. Then startup Storfang again and prepare to set up camp longterm right next to your pc. Once you've started you won't want to leave this mother. And remember again, Eichenbaum have provided this without payment.
  10. Oh God, it looks brilliant! I'm sitting here twitching in anticipation! Someone get me some medication - the wait is killing me! And a third battle all ready to play . . . Eichenbaum, you are a gift from above! Many thanks once again.
  11. Yep, I'm getting pretty much the same problem. v1.02 ran fine when I installed it, and CMBB booted up without a problem too. I played for a couple of hours, but after my first save, when I came to replay later, the same unhandled exception error came up when Storfang calls up the CMBB start screen, and CMBB will no longer play on its own. This is exactly what happened before the patch. Also, even with the new patch, the Storfang start screen says v1.0. Such a fantastic game add-on. I'm just itching to get in there again! I would just add my support for Jim R's comments. Battlefront should look seriously at Eichenbaum's work. I think we all here pretty much agree that the CM system is by far the best ww2 simulation on the market, and Eichenbaum has given us a wonderful add-on. That he/they have done it free-of-charge is a demonstration of their appreciation for and dedication to the game and I'd love to see them involved in future development. Okay, yes, there's an annoying little bug - but show me a computer game that doesn't have teething problems initially. Once this is sorted we will have access to a tremendous enhancement for CMBB. I'm going to be spendng many hours and days glued to the game. good luck, Eichenbaum.
  12. Hi Eichenbaum, I just want to say that, despite the problems, you have my total support - and I think that goes for just about everyone else here. Storfang is a FANTASTIC add-on to CMBB. It provides the one thing the original was lacking - a comprehensive campaign system. I played the first Storfang instalment last year - it was awesome. I've played through the first battle of the new Storfang, until the bug showed up. Again, it's a wonderful add-on. Can't wait to play on. So many, many thanks for providing us with such a great, gigantic free product. You've plainly put a hell of a lot of work in, a real labour of love, and I for one really do appreciate it. It's a pity there's a bug, but I'm sure you'll get it fixed. I hope so. So thanks again, and I look forward to the final release.
  13. Having played this op and loved it, I agree with you, Emar, about adding a few more infantry to the Brit force. The road is a tank trap. In my experience, by battle three the Brits just don't have quite enough infantry to allow them to open or 'clear' a way for the tanks into the village area. I reached a point in battle three where I had no choice but to push my tanks forward with virtually no infantry support. The Gebirgs, with their inf-at weapons and concealment capacity, did a magnificent job of sitting tight and cooking them at their leisure as they passed. Wonderful op, though.
  14. Thanks Matt, Yippeeeeeeee!! (Now to test it!)
  15. Matt, it's twelve days now since you posted the good news, and it's still not happened. Two months since I bought CMAK. No multiplay. I'm pissed off. That's what CM is all about. I hope when CM2 comes around you'll have truly dumped CDV. Not only do they b------ up the tcp/ip but they censor the game too. I'm sick of flawed software and companies that treat their customers with contempt. The CM series is far too good to place into the hands of dorks. Like many others, I'm sure, had I had any inkling I would've bought direct. Can we have the patch yesterday please?
  16. Hate to nag, but it's been a month now and nothing . . . When are we going to able to mp?
  17. I'm confused  Is McMMM any different to CMMOS, which I already have?
  18. Hmmm. I take it all back. Well, most of it. With the benefit of advance intelligence I replayed the first battle, and this time I took out the bunkers - but lordy oh lordy! it was still helluva tough. Those little garden sheds can be bloody hard to get into! But what a fabulous op! The map is absolutely stunning, and the problems the terrain presents for both sides, but particularly the attacker are immense. Feels like a really heroic advance by the US inf. Thanks Moon. This is one of the best. (And sorry all, I should've put a spoiler alert when I started this topic. I've done it now. Hope I didn't give away too much - in fact, the briefing gives a good idea of what's around the corner.)
  19. All I want for Christmas is a CDV TCP/IP patch so I and my friends and arch-enemies can experience the full glory of CMAK over the hol. Pleeeze! Pleeeeeeez!!!! Merry Christmas all.
  20. er, Meach, what's the 'diluted' cdv version? I've got the cdv version, and you've got me worried now that I'm missing something.
  21. I still think its a bug. I had three bazookas empty their weapons into that *******, as well as all the inf with grenades, bars etc. The Germs sat tight. Unrealistic. The amount of ordnance that went in there, no one could have survived. It's a great campaign, beautiful map, but that pb situation doesn't feel right.
  22. Spoiler Alert!! Just played the first battle of the Santa Maria Infante op, as the US against AI. A great battle, except that one of the German wooden mg bunkers (the one on the left of the road, from US view), simply could not be killed. I assaulted from flank and rear with two platoons of inf. It killed em'all (!!) and much of a third group approaching from the front. Another bunker and a pillbox had surrendered easily when assaulted from behind. This one was a black hole into which my men entered never to return. Bit unrealistic, huh? It was firing its mg right up to the end. By rights I won that battle, but battle two setup shows that bunker still intact. What's occurrin' chaps? [ December 22, 2003, 05:39 AM: Message edited by: philwil ]
  23. Hi Matt, OK, we've tested with the files you sent. Sorry to say, no go. Multiplayer game still crashes, and still nicks my desktop background. Whereas CMBB plays flawlessly. Pity. Hope you can sort it, cos cmak is gorgeous. Phil
