Dropbox? Let's do it. Something small for starters?
Thanks,

Exhausted reading the list. Play the game and have fun?

Well, you can always buy one or more trucks with whatever comes in them and use them as mobile supply dumps. I expect that supply dumps might be less visible and less vulnerable to enemy fire, but there you go. Maybe next year we will get something closer to the heart's desire.
Michael
History has shown that we usually do... Which is AWESOME! Thanks BFC!

try changing the region to Eastern Europe. I did that and got a different map after seeing the same one 4x with open, medium, meeting engagement left to Russia. However I got the Eastern Europe map twice. I left it at medium size not random. I'll give that shot and see if there is more variation. I'll check the other open meeting engagement maps to see if there is something that limits when they will show.
Changing size to random gave me other maps, but I think the selection is still small.
When you are in the set up screen what parameters do you select, what do leave as defaulted and what do the default to?
I typically leave it default and I have seen this same thing in CMBN and CMFI as well. I have changed parameters with little effect. I wonder if the code collects all the maps that meet the parameters (Say Small-Open-Meeting) and then only picks the first one on that list or that list only contains one map due to the map collection code not working well with the map naming convention. A quick survey through the RT quick battle map names shows there is only 1 Small Open Meeting map by name : Open Rough Meet 036. That is the map I keep getting when I ask for Small-Open-Meeting so maybe there is something with the number of maps available with my battle parameters.
A quick survey of the CMFI quick battle map directory shows again 1 map for Small Open Meeting... I think that must be the problem. Only a short list of maps for Size Terrain Engagement type. 40 maps for Meeting Engagement in CMFI. Reduce that number for terrain and size and it makes sense that I am seeing the same maps.
OK. Now that I think I understand it I can move on or make some more Quick Battle maps for my needs...

There is more than one "Open Meeting Engagement" map. If you are canceling the QB game and starting another you may want to close CMRT first and restart fresh. I sometimes think the random map generator gets stuck when I don't do this. But then again it may be my imagination...
Tried that too. No joy.

you may want to look in the QB folder. Depending on what variables you select, there may be only one map that matches. That will change as more QB maps are released with each module etc, but the first release only has so much content.
Check out the folder and you'll have a better idea what options are available so you can possibly alter your selection criteria. See if that helps, if not there could be an issue, but my first suspicion is simply the amount of content and options selected.
That was my first thought but nope there are more than one of the map type I chose.
Thanks,

I like to play the same style of maps in a quick battle (Open Meeting Engagement). It seems like the computer always picks the same map when I let it pick.
Anyone else seen this? I have resorted to picking my own maps as a work around.

3 screens!! - how close it that to a full 360 view of the battlefield??
That's why I asked for a picture!

How about a picture?

Standard camera mode or RTS or FPS?

After playing a couple of PBEM games I kinda of like the one turn a day approach. Even on smaller scenarios taking time to plan moves is what I need to do. I don't but my outcomes would be better if I did.

That is a BIG map! Whoa. Might work on a quick battle map setup on it.
And AI plan of course.

Concord, I got on! Thanks. Have some Vegemite on me!

How does one register for CMMODs... Not obvious.

Late to the party. Was just discussing this earlier in the week on another board. I tend to agree. Rudel was definitely very good at his job, no argument. But at the same time Goebbels needed heroes and it wouldn't surprise me if kill claims were rushed through the system somewhat to help provide them. In addition it's pretty well known that everyone over claimed, even in good faith. IMO WW2 CAS was great for soft targets, armoured ones not so much.
BTW you guys do know that before CM, Chris produced two WW2 tactical air combat games. I've still got them both...

Don't know about Chris, but Charles programmed both of those games...

Have you tried all three camera modes? FPS is good but leaves me woozy.
Click on a unit and press Tab to get behind them at ground level. It is a challenge to maneuver the camera. Make sure you suppress the enemy before advancing. I forget that all the time.

The opponent finder here works good too! Do you have a Dropbox account? Takes the email out if PBEM...
Good times.

love it. Thanks!

So whats your favorite angle. I'm still playing around and getting used to the new cameras. I now have it in RTS mode. I like it, but I still kinda like the traditional view.
Are there hotkeys you can use to switch views while playing or do you need to completely exit out and set the views in the options menu?
Not sure yet. FPS makes me queasy but I love the right click orders menu. Need that in Standard camera....
Working with RTS now.

I will join in the praise. Good stuff. Not sure I want to admit to how much I have spent on these games but I ain't thinking that I goot ripped off. Now when I first fired up CMSF 1.0... Let's just say we are a long way from there.
FPS camera is making me queasy but I like the right click orders capability. Might have to try RTS camera.

Loving the command lines, triggers, and all that Ostfront goodness. CMRT is double rainbow, all the way:
That is a bit disturbing....

There was a view in IL-2 that would show all arrows where shells had hit a plane that was pretty cool. Being able to turn on a "tracer" view that would extend from shooter to shell stop would be interesting to me. The decals on vehicles will be fun to play with in V3.0 for sure based on ChrisND's previews.

The General? I resubscribed one issue before they folded...
Doh! Bad times

Of course the right answer is Red Thunder....
