Yeah. But did you play Flight Commander 2, Over the Reich and Achtung Spitfire! ?

    The really good old days....

I remember this also and remember how pleased I was when I heard the news. After suffering through the Keith Z days and

Close Combat hearing that BTS was going to work on Computer ASL was so exciting.

CMBO, CMBB and CMAK did not disappoint...

I suspect CMSF will be the same...

I remember that, having to wait two weeks for the package to get here was not fun.

Of course listening to all the whining Canadians was great.

I remember the the CMBB D-Day - coming home from work and checking the board to see if anyone had received it yet - and then plotting it day-by-day as it moved throughout the country, with players at some compound in Montana receiving their copy 4 days later than people who lived closer to the coasts.

And then 3 weeks later or so it seemed to arrive in Toronto... :D </font>

That is a certainty. Might not be as bad as the one will be for CMSF download/release day.

So Moon is it 12:00am on April 19 for the digital download? Which timezone?

  4. This digital download thing is great and a bit disappointing. Remember the fun we had when CMBB was first released? Watching the posts as it arrived first in the Northeast, then the Midwest and the West Coast and then a few days later I finally received it. Watching the posts of how people would come home from work and find CMBB waiting for them and then going home and not finding CMBB waiting for me. That anticipation was awesome. Now, instant gratification for Theatre of War and CMSF. Oh well.

Maybe just for old times sake I will download via dialup.

  5. I am stuck on 110. Sort of. If I advance until I can ID the trench and then stagger the 2 squads between area fire on the trench and advancing I can win 100-0. Any other method

I try is a disaster. If the MG can fire on my greens and stay hidded it is all over. My recon by death is recon by loss.

Any thoughts? My lesson here is that recon by

fire is the way to go. Can that be true? Area

fire any likely hiding spot on the advance?

Thanks JasonC for these scenarios. Lots to learn.

I don't think that the Sturmtiger is available in May 1944 historically so the same is true in the game. Earliest it is available is August 1944 after a quick check. You can make it available (ahistorically of course) by setting the date to August 1944 in the Parameters section of the scenario while you are editing it. Select the Sturm Tiger and then set the date back to what you wanted and viola you can have any unit about whenever you want. Even Sturmtigers in 1941. Coolio.

    Hope this helps.

  7. Greetings,

Since I started the thread, I thought I should weigh in even now that I have had the game for a week. It is very, very fun. The manual is awesome.

It turns out that mine was "delayed" due to ordering multiple copies which put it into the UPS not USPS shipping arena. If you ordered multiple copies expect some delay at least that was my experience.

Hang in there guys it is really worth the wait.

  8. Greetings,

I have found that if I enter into a fresh CMBB session and immediately (ie do nothing else) try to join a TCP/IP session I will get a complete

system lock up that is only recoverable with Ctrl-Alt-Del. If I start a scenario first and then exit and start a TCP/IP no lock up. So I am doing that.

I am running WindowsME, PIII 700MHz laptop.

I am also now having trouble connecting to TCP/IP games on CMBB after no troubles with CMBO. I don't think that anything has changed has it?
