Sad really. What kind of complete arsehole gets his jollies off by hanging his wang out and saying "Ya Ya look at me! I can be a utter boor if I want to, and there is nothing you can do about it." Crap-on, you are about the most un-entertaining poster I think the MBT has ever had, and that takes some doing. How anyone can be such a dried up little turd on such a consistent basis is beyond me. It must take real effort. Your total lack of humor, and inability to grasp even the tiniest mote of a clue about what this thread is about is unmatched in the tens of thousands of posts that have been made to the Peng Challenge Threads. Your head is so far up your forth point of contact that the fecal impactions on your brain have caused you to mistake responses to your textual dullness as some form of acceptance. Nothing could be further from the truth, though I doubt the truth about anything could penetrate your impressive cranial armor. Lads, since I doubt this will ever find a clue even if it was stapled to his wee-wee, I says it is Coventry time for the dolt.

You know this really hurts. I know that I haven't been very dogged about the whole thing, but I thought I was your personal stalker. Ever since I was a wet behind the ears Pool dipper, and you told me that you indeed were Kurtz, and were awaiting me at the end of the river, I set your destruction or salvation as my goal. [sob] I can't help it if I've wandered a bit ... gotten sidetracked on lesser tasks [sob, sniffle], but you've got to give me another chance [sOB]. I promise to do better.

Anything started by Sgt. Butthead in the General Forum should do the trick quite nicely I would think. By all means introduce your new boyfriend to the good Sgt. Much fun for all if you can get those two going back and forth. Question to any Canucks hanging a'boot these parts. Is it something in the water up there, or does a good portion of your population have its sense of humor removed during some state mandated surgical procedure?

Avast there me mateys, I’ve recently joined the modern world and acquired a ‘puter that will reliably run CMBB with decent graphics and at more than a snail’s pace (actual tank graphic on my old computer below): ----O <=====> 8888888 To celebrate this new found power, I will shortly (as soon as I transfer files) be chucking molten TNT death   …. (opps, wrong thread) … I mean sending files to those I owe. The only one I know for sure that is on the list is Red Jo Xia. Also, I can now finally complete the battle that was originally intended to settle the dispute on who gets to keep Boo warm at night, and now can be used to torture other suitable parties. The battle for Schloss Peng will be ready in a few days. In the meantime, I will take to heart the words of our illustrious moldy old one: Maybe so, maybe so. What is this 'Kampfgruppe Clan'? And we would, of course, join as PYRATES! Aaarrrrr! </font>

Holy Crap, what is this? Reunion week? Meeks. Croda, and Geier. Signs of the coming of the end for sure.

The Save Seanachai Project? What a great Idea! Now he can be preserved for future generations along with the other freaks in the Mutter Museum! Oh how the school children will whisper and point! The only question is how do we do it? We could go with an ancient approach, and take out his guts and brains, fill his belly with preservatives, and then wrap him in cloth strips. Since he is a romantic at heart, perhaps we go with the way they preserved Nelson after Trafalgar and dunk him in a barrel of rum. Seems like the waste of good booze though. Maybe the Ted Williams way, and use liquid nitrogen? But what if someone drops him. I’d say on balance, the tried and true formaldehyde or alcohol is probably the best bet.

regarding battle length being unrealistic, I think Sergei had it about right on page one, but it seemed to have gotten lost in the discussion. I think the one minute turns in CM can be seen as representing a unspecified period of time. So much can be done in one minute of the game compared to what was likely to happen in the real world, that perhaps rather than worry if a real company could advance a 1000 meters in 30 turns instead consider the 30 turn game to really represent an unspecified greater period of time with short lulls in the action where orders are given, units coordinate movement (e.g. the platoon leader has a discussion about how to advance with the TC of the supporting tank) men rest and regroup and all the other little things that would take up time.

- Speed - Off road T-34, on road Sherman - Mobility - Until the HVSS suspension, T-34, after probably a wash. - Armor/Protection - Front Sherman, sides T-34 - Armament/killing power - Sherman. 75 Sherman's gun is slightly better than T-34's 76. Sherman's 76 is slightly better than t-34's 85mm. Sherman's machine gun armament (the real infantry killer) is much better. - Targetting/Optics- Sherman. - Maintainability - Sherman. - Production - Probably T-34, but I'm not sure. - Cost - again, probably T-34 - Crew Survivability - Not sure. Sherman was known for cooking up prior to introduction of wet ammo storage, but so was the T-34. - Reliability - Sherman. Not only more reliable, but also much longer expected engine and track life. - Looks (ok, that one is subjective) Hellcat. - Features (plows, close-in defense systems, snorkels, etc) - Sherman (Smoke, gyro, AA mg, auxilary generator, radio (compared to the early T-34), three man turret, more comfortable)

Your Least Favorite WWII tank and Why
Marlow replied to laxx's topic in Combat Mission: Beyond Overlord
I have never heard of Shermans being shipped to russia, under the lendlease. But these are patriotic soviets, who would choose their country's tank over a forien armored vehicle. </font> -
Combat Mission Napoleonic Style...
Marlow replied to Cambronne's topic in Combat Mission: Barbarossa to Berlin
There is certainly a lot of truth in that, but that could also be said of many leaders and Kings throughout the ages. Julius Ceaser was every bit as personally driven and ambitious. On a much smaller scale your boss at work may even think in the same manner in order to get where he wants to be. Does this necessarily make them evil, or comparable to Hitler? I don't think so. And what facts would you use to back up that statement? </font> -
Combat Mission Napoleonic Style...
Marlow replied to Cambronne's topic in Combat Mission: Barbarossa to Berlin
No, his purpose was to serve the interests of Napoleon, and he seemed to view France much as he did his soldiers - as tools to get what he wanted. He was an amoral butcher who had some initial military success, but was ultimatly brought down by better military minds. -
mechanics of CMBB ??
Marlow replied to Charlie Co 2nd /8th's topic in Combat Mission: Barbarossa to Berlin
Music? What music? The only music I need is the krump of artillery, the staccato of a Maxim, the sharp report of an anti-tank gun and the shouts of my digital soldiers. The wheel mouse thing would be nice though. -
Problems w/ the CMBB patches
Marlow replied to Polish Bruce Lee's topic in Combat Mission: Barbarossa to Berlin
What version of CMBB do you have? The one mail ordered from Battlefront or one purchased retail? I think this will effect the patch that you should use. -
Problems w/ the CMBB patches
Marlow replied to Polish Bruce Lee's topic in Combat Mission: Barbarossa to Berlin
My mistake, I thought you were trying to upgrade FROM 1.01. Is the patch extracted to the right location? It sounds like the original exe file still works, which could mean that the patched exe might be in the wrong place. [ June 07, 2003, 03:32 PM: Message edited by: Marlow ] -

From MadMatt's instructions: "BE SURE YOU HAVE ALREADY UPGRADED TO 1.02 BEFORE YOU PATCH TO 1.03." -

Point was that his (Rex's)attribution of these views as being on the right was a cheap shot. I'm sure you agree. Re: abortion. I'll let him speak for himself, but anyone who favors eugenics (which he said he did) will almost certainly also favor abortion. On gun control, do some research on the Third Reich's gun control policy. Actually, you do raise an interesting point. Which of Schoerner's misguided views would you think fit confortably on the right side of the (American) political spectrum? I've found very little.
