Here's a blast from the past that was quite enjoyable and I think is a great classic. Airborne Ranger. I used to play that on my Brother's old Commadore. You had to drop your equiptment while flying over the mission area then jumpchute your way to the ground. You could loose your extra ammo and equiptment if it landed in nasty terrain and you could even crack ice flows in arctic missions so that enemies would plunge through to their deaths. Excellent Game!! Mord. P.S when you spoke of Ambush Compassion, were you talking about Computer Ambush from SSI? That was one of my brother's all time favorites!

Wolf you don't necessarily have to order through the internet. I ordered through the mail. If these guys don't have credit cards they can just mail their orders to BTS. If they really want a copy of the game they can get it. It's not so bad. Mord.

Sounds like someone needs some Depends. Nope I just stuff a roll of Bounty in my drawers and I remain chafe free and dry. Luckily I only peed. With the beauty of these mods I could've done alot worse. Mord

I'll never forget the day I played Doom. I was staying at a friends house and he brought a shareware version home from work. I said "What's this?" he says "Oh some shareware game a guy at work leant me." So he installs it and I jump on the computer while he is outside messing with his car. 8 HOURS Later I am sitting there totally blown outta the water by what I just experienced! Everything we used to talk about as kids was on the screen in SVGA bloody glory! Unbelievable! It will always be one of my fondest gaming memories. Incidently I have had that same feeling with all of my personal favorites, all the way to CM. Always a sign that you are a part of something special. Thanks again BTS for a wonderful experience! I have been saying all along that all the ASL fans out there outta flood Hasbro with some serious hate mail. If everyone voiced together they just might sit up and listen. It still angers me that Hasbro takes a lucrative and respected liscense and churns out puke with it. I'm no great ASL fan, nor have I ever played it, but I know the weight that the name carries in the Wargamming community, and now it's marred. It's been said many, many times on here, but I don't think it can be said enough,there are very few companies like BTS...companies who are willing to listen to the gamers, get their feedback and when found to be sound and sensible apply those requests. what better relationship could you have with your customers?!! What better way to insure a loyal fan base?!! It's so damn simple I just don't get why other companies are so stupid. Hasbro could learn a lesson from some of the smaller guys out there. Ok just little fun thread for all of us. I was sittin' around thinking about all the great comp games I have played. You know the ones that you sat up playing till you had to go to work, the very same ones you cussed all day while at work, bleary eyed and dying for sleep, the exact same games you went home to and fired up cause you just needed to make one more turn or solve one more puzzle and then you'd get that much needed sleep! Yeah fellas! Those games! They have all brought us joy and insinuated theirselves into our popculture conscious. They are part of who we are. So in honor of Combat Mission joining those ranks instantly, tell me what computer games rocked your socks way back when. Lets get nostalgic.

I was wondering when that Hanks/Speilberg collaborations was coming out. It should be very cool! I know how alot of people on here felt about SPR but I still say it is one of the best WWII flicks ever made. I am hoping that this new series along with success of SPR will start a new boom in the WWII genre. It seems that whenever Hanks gets interested in a subject he takes it far. like with the Apollo 9 movie and subsequent series on HBO. I just hope that they can keep the patriotism equal with the facts. God help Speilberg and Hanks if they don't! mord

LOL this isn't sudden von Lucke old MB has been hemorrhaging for a Lynx mod for weeks. Let alone the dry spell we are in for mods right now. It's hard on the Sluts when your used to a couple a week and then must go cold turkey! No one is really saying the Lynx looks bad we'd just like to see a mod for it. There are a hundred and a half Tiger Tank mods and so forth, just like to see some for the less popular vehicles. I was sure happy when I got my Hotchkiss mod! Mord.

The other night before the patch, I was playing a game and the building my squads occupied had two(**) on it. I knew, but kept them there because it was a prime spot for targeting attacking infantry crossing the bridge next to it. I took the chance and they survived. It got me thinking about all the discussions I had read about them not being smart enough to vacate when a building was damaged. And I was happy that they did not because it was a key position and critical to my success in stopping the enemy advance. To give you an idea one squad had 26 kills, 4 captures and two vehicle knockouts. It's a hard argument all the way around. But you must look at it through the eyes of the soldiers, if you were in a building and you saw the roof sagging inward and the walls buckling would you want to stay? But also one (*) should'nt drive a squad to run from shelter into certain death either. Hopefully it was just the game you were playing. ok well, there are some good answers from Dan..snuck in on me while I was typing Mord. [This message has been edited by Mord (edited 11-29-2000).]
