Hehe, some passages reminded me of another manual that's somewhere on my bookshelf.
But then, if it ain't broke, don't fix it.
-
Hehe, just read the credits, well done!
-
Dave and Marcus, what a preview! I still don't know what's my favourite:
The Hans&Franz scene or when our 150mm inf gun hit the KV right on the front plate-and survived...
But at least we got the TC after he had opened his hatch to see what went BOOOM so loud. Just in time too see the 2nd 150mm round land next to him!
-
Yep, same opinion here. The german manual is well translated, some minor quibble but nothing that would cause me a headache. I've read much worse english manuals...
The briefings I've read so far are all pretty good, a typo here and there but overall very good quality.
The most important info is in the printed manual, and 90 pages now a days isn't bad anyway.
So, as far as I'm concerned, BFC/CDV did a good job here.
When I emailed CDV when I could expect CMBB to be delivered I got a personal answer within two days.

Hehe, I couldn't recreate the best part...
PzJg I fires, hits KV, no effect. Hits again, no effect. KV turns sloooowly...
PzJg hits KV, Gun hit!!
Yes!!
Oh.
KV raises the barrel, fires, our poor PzJg I gets a upper hull penetration, Hans looks again to the right, and Franz is gone!
I think he was still holding his hand, though...
Lol!

Only at gunpoint. Or if you threaten me with sharp objects.Originally posted by Andreas:Have a look at the CDV board.

Part II
"You gotta be strong now, take my hand. And remember, we'll always have Paris..."
With this thing (our best At asset btw) we tried to fend off a KV1... We learned the hard way that the only thing a PzJg I can penetrate on a good day is a Partisan...

IIRC I bought it (January '43) with rarity on, price was +30%, and it was a StuG IIIG (early).

The AI was the gamey bastiche! I had a cunning plan to lure the AI with my HT to open fire with any hidden guns, which I then planned to engage with arty.
I think I played that movie at least 20 times. I saw the targeting line to my HT, saw the round mising (phew!) and heard a load explosion and cries somewhere behind me. (??)
It was one of my first games ever, and I think that was the point I definately fell in love with CM.
I surrendered immediatly and looked at the 150mm's kill stats...

Pvt.Ryan, the 8,8 packs a lot of punch, usually one hit is enough to knock out a tank. Often though the firing tank plays safe and fires a second round if the tanks doesn't explode or the crew bails out immediatly, but then usually the target is known to be dead.Originally posted by Pvt. Ryan:Did it take multiple penetrations to KO the T-34s, or did they bail pretty quickly?

Thanks for your all your kind words guys. If only I could find a better free host than Lycos. Well, at least it's free and most of you seem to be able to see the pics.
Reminder:
If the pics don't show up, right click on the pic, click on properties, copy the adress and paste it into your browser, that works usually.

And the result:
All T34-85s (Modell '44) were knocked out within five minutes. The Tigers scored numerous first and second shot hits at distances from 1500-1200m.
One Tiger was hit by a T34 but the shell couldn't penetrate.
Many T-34s were hit several times.
The 8,8L56 in combination with vet crews and the good optics are absolutely deadly...
or: Scrap metal

And here we have a company of T34-85s that just broke through the thin german lines, thundering across the plain...
Or: T34 company
-
Just got up. Time for a shower, a coffee, and some screenies.
How about the effects of optics? Maybe some Tigers against a company of T34-85s?
Remember how the Tigers in CMBO were not THAT accurate? Well, you're in for a treat!
Give me a few minutes...
OK, first one:
Here we have a veteran Tiger platoon, the tank commanders scanning the steppe, waiting for another soviet attack...
Or: Tigers

Oh, I just got asked whether I want to come to bed or "...continue with this silly WARGAME..."
Looks like a tough decision!
I'm sure others will post more screenies soon, time for bed...
[edit: No, I'm not gonna post pics of that!]

Yep, look like Bren carriers. According to BFC some vehicles share models since they ran out of texture space on the CD. Same with the SdKfZ 251/22.Originally posted by Barticus:Are those Bren Gun carriers in the Italian screenshot??
They will get patched soon.

So much for now, time for dinner.

As I said before, I don't want to give away too detailed infos on what's in and what's not since I think it's a good idea to keep some surprises for you.Originally posted by mch:Hello Parrabellum!
Mind awnsering a few questions about a few of the vehicles no-one's sure is in the game yet?
1)Russian T-44?
2)IS-3?
3)KV-85?
I'm wondering about those..They in?
Also, thanks for the pix.
BTW, is the factory a 3 storey? or 2?
Just one thing: BFC didn't disappoint me. And I was expecting, well, quite a lot...
And the factories are 2 storey.
-
Hu? Board just ate my post. 2nd try...
Look ma, a factory!
Or: Factory outside

Actually the "Sturmangriff" was the only one I noticed. No problems with "Begegnungsgefecht", though...
I think I saw another one or two words cut short but can't say for sure. Definately no problem for me.
