Sorry for the caps, guys, but I just got a visit from Mr.Postman, and he delivered:

    CMBB!!!!!!!!

    WOOOT!!

It comes in a DVD case with a 90 page manual. OK, I just wanted to inform you, now I gotta install it an play it for the next 24 hours!!

Long live BFC, hooray for CDV, salute to the german postal service!!

So, am I the first? Do I get a cookie now?

    :D:D:D:D

  2. No, you don't get points for them. Some time ago I did a test (aye, again...) where three german trucks should exit for points and were destroyed. When I moved the crews from the map and I got 0 points for exiting them.

A minor bug. But if you have lots of armour with the "exit" orders and they get knocked out it's usually better to hide the bailed out crews somewhere on the map, since you don't get points for exiting and your global moral will drop.

But then, if a lot of your tanks got knocked out, your morale has already suffered... :D

  3. Nope, it has been stated numerous times that there won't be a grand campaign in CMBB. You'll get improved operations (linked battles) and the ability to save a map after battle to let you create kind of an "instant mini campaign", though.

Forces now can start battle with depleted squads so that should help, too, to create more entertaining operations.

There are already some so-called "mini-campaigns" that try to simulate experience gains and losses while fighting a series of battles for CMBO and I think we will soon see many of these for CMBB.

[edit: welcome to the forum, Twisted!]

  4. Nice map Abbott, gotta give it a try!

And Kerry, so that's what you're doing waiting for CMBB! ;)

Still got one PBEM to finnish, then it'll be the russian front for quite some time I guess.

BTW I think our last battle was a nice finish for CMBO. KingTigers and Pershings! :D

And yes, I'm still nagging with that KT gunner that couldn't hit the broadside of the Sherm from point-blank range...

  5. A Panther firing at a fast-moving Hellcat (on road) at 1900m+, hitting it with the first round.

A Hellcat (Sgt. Faller  ), after being fired at by a Panzerschreck team from less than 70m suddenly stops to fire on the AT team (still in LOS) and decides to target a panicked infantry squad (3 survivors) 1646m away...

    ´Schreck fires, Hellcat dead.

A platoon HQ down to one man close assaults a Sherman, knocking it out.

A 150mm inf gun firing at a HT, missing it and knocking out an M10 TD, a jeep towing a 57mm gun (the gun was knocked out, too), a Bazooka team and an 81mm FO. 200m behind the HT that was on a ridge... :D

    Ah, sweet memories... :D

  6. Thx, Nidan, I knew that Andreas was just poking fun at me. At first I didn't know what he was talking about, then I typed it into an online-dictionary...Talk about a loud laugh!

And Marcus, still here? When goes your plane to Manila?

I think that some stores will have CMBB already on friday/saturday, since CDV seems to ship the copies early enough. Do you have a Mediamarkt in Basel? They're usually pretty fast getting new software.

If not, I can still email you some screenshots... :D

  7. Hehehe... I just got an email from CDV in which it says:"...we will send the software (german version of CMBB) so you will recieve it at the specified date (20th September), although we cannot guarantee for the duration of the shipping process..."

I emailed them two days ago if I'll get CMBB on the 20th, or if they will send it on the 20th and maybe recieve it after the weekend. Nice service. So far.

OK, now I can bugger the post office when the postman is expected to arrive in my street on Friday.

Or I could try to find out the name and adress of the postman and give him a call tonight. Just to remind him...

    :D

  8. Oh yes, I'd really like to see a weapons guide for CMBB.

All tanks, aircraft, vehicles, arty pieces, AT guns, Flak guns, handguns, rifles, machineguns, machine pistols, assault rifles, mines, handgrenades, rifle grenades, knifes, sharp sticks, mine dogs, partisan hamsters etc...

Each with an in-game shot and an original photograph. And maybe a small movie. With sound. And complete data including production numbers, detailed specs, TOEs, AARs...

Ah, and did I mention, I want it for free?

    :D

    Or sumfink. :D

    *nodding empathically*

    Exactly.

And that was even before Lindan close-assaulted a Flammpanzer III with nothing but iron will, a brave heart and an empty beer bottle...

  10. ...and the wizard said: "Look, I give you this magic hat! It will give you all the food you want if you wear it. If you sit on it, you can fly. If you look into it, you'll see images of distant countries. Shake it, and gold coins will fall out of him. Caress him and a beautiful woman will appear. Ah, and he will cure any sickness, too.

So lad, what do you think about it?"

    "It's green. I don't like green hats."

  11. "Most of this pictures were taken by Parabellum (thanks again!). But I am afraid he has a problem. Every third pic was somebodys butt. He insisted it was my complicated camera. Well, everybody may decide what to make out of that..."

Well, it's not my fault when you buy a camera with a butt-o-matic feature.

And yes, we had a great time. Seeing the tanks churn up the road and comrade Lindanov close-assaulting the Flammpanzer III alone was well worth the trip!
