  1. Excellent Strontium Dog that's what I've been waiting for. They look great together and will sure add to the game. Thanks for your hard work and improving the game a little more.
  2. Thanks Dandelion and Maj. Battaglia for all that useful and extremely interesting information. So I can't use many of the old .50 Cal. HMG in my games then. Darn! What the heck are you Dandelion some sort of encyclopedist on military tactics and OOB's? Thanks guys.
  3. Alright JonS that's exactly what I was looking for. You da man! Great going but how in the world could you remember or find that? Please tell I would love to know how you did that.
  4. You are so lucky I've got my hands full with 4 games right now.
  5. Sorry for the time delay but I have relatives in and had to cater to them of course and still am but got a few minutes to spare until they start looking for me. Anyway Dandelion and Hi back to you, I am referring to the standard troops, etc in a company. Like what units would you expect a company would be made up of. Example; two Sherman's, a half track, two Grayhounds and what type of special weapons would realistically be in a company. I am trying to avoid just using what I enjoy or am good at using like my usual company of men and 13 Jumbo tanks. Thanks Maj. Battaglia for that info and yes I would be very interested in getting more info on that. I also will try to scearch for JasonC's post on the subject as that sounds like what I am looking for and JasonC is always full of good interesting information. Can you pin it down a little better by chance on what date period or heading of JasonC's post would be? If not I will try to locate it anyway.
  6. I am back playing some Pbem's again after over a 2 year period of only playing against the computer and am interested in playing more realistic games now or at least think I am. Can anybody direct me to a site or have any info on this subject? I guess what I'm thinking is that it might be more fun or at least interesting to play some games that truely are realistic as far as the OOB goes. I wonder though if this is the way to go with CMBO since it would be difficult to do since players have a certain amount to spend on their setup and what if they have extra left to spend which I'm sure they would after picking a realistic OOB. Anyway at present just pondering it and hoped somebody could chime in on the subject.
  7. I don't have CMBB so therefore don't play it but do drop in to see if you guys are having more fun then we at CMBO are and saw this topic so started reading it. What you guys need is something like this. It was a great help to me for CMBO so maybe someone could do one for this game. http://home.arcor.de/rehbold/Gamey_tactics.htm
  8. Hey Gordon I'm not into CMBB yet so won't be using this mod but just had to say it's nice to hear from you again and that is one damn nice looking mod - as usual! I am jealous of these guys having you do mods for CMBB. Great to see you back. Take care.

  10. You the man Strontium Dog. Thanks for the reply and will be looking forward to matching water and marsh mods. Trees huh? Cool.
  11. Well it looks pretty good on the picture so if it looks at least that good in the game then I shall have to go get it. Thanks Strontium Dog. One question will the marsh blend in with this water mod do you suppose. I think it looks weird if they don't go together. Just my personal opinion and thought I'd mention it. OK so you caught me. That was a hint. Oh my the by I really like your gridded terrain. Sho do help in the game.
  12. Well I reckon I'm a Texan and I wouldn't be too insulted or call you too many names if you used the term. We accept the fact that most people probably think that we have a drawl although we really don't it's just that everybody else talks funny.
  13. Dandelion could you repeat that. Great post guys very very interesting. Thanks to all for contributing even though I didn't start it. Appointment, huh. You learn something new everyday.
  14. Ok thanks Michael and Dandelion. So if I am understanding this an appointment is not a rank but just a temporary position given to an individual for whatever reason. Now if this is correct I can't imagine why this would take place but if it does I guess it does but I sure don't think it happens in the US army or at less they failed to inform me when I was in 100 years ago.
  15. Maybe I am missing something or am not understanding your question and I didn't see the last answer you got but I will try to explain what I know about them. In a scenario the person making the scenario places the mine according to where he wants them and you have no choose in the matter, even if he chooses to lock your mines which normally he wouldn't but I suppose he could for whatever reason then yes you have no choose. Now if you are talking about a QB or a map that you yourself create then you can place them wherever you want. If you want the AI to have mines and you are crateing your own map then you can choose to lock the mines where you want them placed but that's kind of like cheating but you can do it. Now if this doesn't help then maybe I am not understanding your problem.
  16. Would someone explain what you mean when you say that an individual was appointed to a rank? I know what appointed means but not when it pertains to getting a rank. Also, on the Class of 28 thing I wonder if it could pertain to how much war time a soldier had in or something to that effect? Just a wild ass guess on my part. Hope someone actually learns what it means and lets us know even if it's down the road and starts a new post after this one gets further down the pages. I am dying to know now. Never in close to 3 years have I seen a question stump this group.
  17. Lets see if I can add something. Your questions; 1D. Spam is a meat product. It is still available today by the way but most people don't seem to like it but they're still making it so I guess somebody does. It is cheap and kind of like ham and fat rolled up into a square chuck placed in a can. It is best fried at least in my opinion and not too bad with eggs or as a sandwich with mayo. 2D. Sounds like more along the lines of the Oberschutze. You got it for just suiting up. 3D. I don't know what a spiess is but what Michael said is true in regards to a 1st sergeant. 4D. Boy this is a long story but I'll cut it down. At first the National Guards were called up but after that due to the amount of soldiers that were needed and all the guards were already over there it was necessary to just get men over into the war. Nobody liked it and while it was a poor system the powers to be allowed it to be that way in order to get the maxium guys into the war in the fastest manner. Hell, they weren't even trained except for maybe 2 weeks if that at all. They were combat trained. Not a good system at all but it seems to have worked.
  18. I normally don't care for grids in my terrain but that does look pretty darn good. It sure helps in seeing the different elevations so I believe I will try it out and thanks for mentioning it and for doing it to begin with. I too would be interested in seeing the others when you get them finished. Thanks again Strontium Dog.
  19. Yes I would be interested in having a look at what you've got. I have been playing close to 3 years now and certainly could use some different sounds. I'd appreciate it.
  20. Yeah I will Klapton. Actually I got all four of your scenario's and plan to play them all and will let you know what I think. And again thanks for the scenario's and your efforts.
  21. Well you learn something new every day. How interesting. Those darn British are something else nameing our tanks for us.
  22. Michael, I may be wrong but I do believe that we name all of our tanks after generals and always have as far as I know. I doubt that the Sherman or Grant or whatever got it's name from the British and if true would be very interesting and fascinating.
  23. Outstanding ! another scenario just in time for my game tonight. I'll try it. Thanks for your time and work. It really is appreciated by us all. As the other gentlemen said CM is what it is today in part due to the support it gets from scenario guys like you and the modders.
  24. OK then I am certainly interested. Hopefully others will chime in wanting it also. Sounds great.
