  1. To Lee: Icm 1947 RE: Mines Thanks for the input. I've been traveling and thus not able to respond. I am still confused. When I play "LeLorey A Hard Fight" (a scenario that comes with CBM) the land mines just seemed to be there in the set up phase when I play the Axis side (but not when I play the Allied side, which makes sense cause the Germans are defending and would use mines). But it did not seem possible to move the mines in the setup phase to what might appear to me to be more logical locations. Can these mines (anti-personnel and anti-tank) be moved or not. If "yes", how? Thanks again Lee. Phil G.
  2. What's the point of including pre—placed mine fields that make no sense? I have been playing DeLorey A Hard Stand. Given the mine fields are locked, why does CBM even bother to include them? They sure ain't useful. Phil Goodwin
  3. Alsatian: Thanks for the info re mine placement. Given the mine fields' locked condition, why does CBM even bother to include them? They sure ain't useful where they have been placed. I could understand if they were placed by the "enemy" (in the scenario I'm playing, that would be the Americans). But they appear to be my mines. Had I place them, they would have been quite helpful. What am I missing? Phil G.

  5. In De Lorey A Hard Stand at the set up stage for the Germans how does one place the mine fields where you want them?
  6. I have been fighting "Le Lorey-A Hard Day" from both the American side and now from German side. In the German scenario I noticed there were various German mine fields (anti-tank & personal). But they weren't where I wanted them. They just appeared on "Setup". The same was true of TRF's. Can I move these in set up phase? How? Many thanks for any help. Phil G.
  7. JasonC: Thanks again for the excellent information. Are you a retired Westpoint General or something? Have you considered writing a Tactics manual? As I mentioned early on I have been battling my son out in San Jose, Ca via PBEM. We have been fighting the "Training Scenario" and unfortunately, he just beat me soundly Very embarrassing!! We are going to refight it but this time with me taking on the German role and using "partial fog of war". Should be interesting. I don't know where he finds the time as he is a manager for Cisco (or he was the last time I talked to him!) Again many thanks for the excellent and detailed response. Phil G.
  8. JasonC: Thanks for that lengthy piece of advice. Very helpfull. Any thoughts on placement of Mortar observer? I gather staying close to a command center is valuable as firing instructions can be given by the Co even though the observer has no line of sight. Also can you explain what the "Target Next" command does? Every time I click on it, nothing happens that I can see. Thanks again for your valuable input. Phil G.
  9. I'm a CBM newbie. In addition, in the army, I never got above Spec 3 E3 (infantry) so have little tactical knowledge. Here are some questions: 1. Where do tanks go viz a viz troops? Right in with them? That's what I've read or understood. But in the learning scenario playing PBEM against my son I lost both very quickly. Also in "AAchen" scenario. What am I doing wrong? 2.How do you deploy flame throwers and Engineers? Do you bring them close to traget and instruct them to target same? This will help me as a start and thanks. PG
