  1. Walpurgis, Good to hear you received it this time in one piece. Have not had a return in many years, so don't know why USA customs shake the box so hard to find out what's inside. I consider all my promises fulfilled and my work done for RoW V. Spoon, It seems the only way, for the time being, to see me is on the 'Pools excuse for a Website for the time being. Joe wanted to keep only my wife in the picture, but I informed him I married above myself and it needs showing ... What time period is the CMVention again? 3. Bourbon and Coca Cola. Jesus wept. Goddamn Wisco cheesehead. It's like the Almighty was looking for a place to make cows look as smart as the people who milked them. </font>
  4. Pretty picture and concept, eh? In case you have not heard, Combat Mission Campaigns (CMC) will be released in 2006. [EDIT: Hopefully in 2008?] I'm gathering interest, from ex-RoW players, CMC forum members etc. for a two-team CMC tourney via the Rumblings of War style later in the year. Obviously based on a slightly different RoW format. Please let me know if you are interested. EDIT: Please read all pages on this thread (all WineCape postings) to get an idea of the upcoming RoW-CMC tourney later this year. More specific tourney details will be posted here after CMC's release. List of names, on my spreadsheet, is as follows below. Please bear in mind that this list is *not* final. Since there are roughly only place for 40 players + 20 reserves [edit Oct06: Player totals will be increased, i.e. there will be more than 40 players - y'all will soon see why ], all listed players will receive, when CMC luanches, a 'thesis/questionaire' as mentioned in this thread further on. NOTE: If you were part of a previous RoW and/or other campaign/normal tourney (or multiple RoW's) and your name is not listed below, then speak up. Non-tourney players can still apply. Likewise, if you want to be removed, please say so. 76mm/Tom Reiter Abbott Ace Pilot Andreas Andrew Kulin/Ankulin Bertram Big Dog Bigdogg944 Bigduke6 BigMac644 Bil Hardenberger Boris Balaban Brent Pollock c3k Capt T Combined Arms Cpl Carrot Dalem Dandelion Dangerous Dave Deadly 88 Denwad Diesel Taylor Dirtweasle Elmar Bijlsma Enigma Enoch Flenser Frenchy/Steve Dixon Frunze George Mc Green Hornet GreenAsJade Grimthane Heavy Drop Holien Hunter JasonC Jaws Joachim John Bertles John D Salt John L John O JonS JPS K.A. 5. A small wooden house, aquired by rich parents so that their young daughters can have a doll house outside, serving tea in the garden to imaginery friends. But since you married Alice in Wonderland, judging by your picture on BillyBob's My-favourite-family-dog-website, don't plead innocence, useless git.
  6. Correction, In seniority here in the South African professional soccer league (PSL), I'm next in line come Sept06 (fitness test - actual panel selection in Dec06) to get promoted to FIFA's international referee panel. 'bout time too, seeing it's my 16th season, the last 6 thereof being in our pro leagues. Not there yet...
  7. Rune Much obliged, as usual, for the watch offer. At moment have enough time pieces and running out of space on my arm. But will need one by next season. Plus wifey is of the opinion that I've spend enough this year on wines, so no extra goodies... yet. But will remember the offer nevertheless. Billy-bob is at least fast wrt to my web details, so I'd rather chide him to play fair henceforth, if not, I'll swipe the bugger with more than my cards. I'm tall, after all, despite being cut to size at his low-attandance website.
  8. Referree. No Joe, it's not a phonetic sound as per whistle, but 'referee'. And I'm typing in my 3rd language. What do they teach in America? American? Kind thanks to the ever watchful rune
  9. Yup, I married above myself. BTW, you cut my friggin head off in the picture Joe - to make me shorter? Short sommelier's only serve garden gnomes in wendy houses.
  10. There's a good Sommelier of the CessPool. Butchered meat on its way. To the Justicariate: I have refreshed your webpage many times to up your visitor count from 421 to 1241. Go figure. [ March 23, 2006, 04:56 AM: Message edited by: WineCape ]
  11. As professor David M. Kennedy said before: From the outset, the war (OIF) was a colossally bold and breathtaking risky gamble. Unfortunately and unsurprisingly, the U.S. failed to beat the odds. Forget about WMD and links to al-Qaeda. The real purpose for invading Iraq was the extravagant ambition to transform the political culture of the entire middle East. The Bush Administration bet American might and good intentions against the accumulated weight of centuries of religious rivalry, tribal tensions, wanton bloodletting and autoritarian rule. Even American hyperpower has proved no match for the burden of all that sorry history.
  12. Ordered 2 Companions for birthday gifts to good friends. Also good to know sales thereof goes toward BFC's development team. Sincerely, Charl Theron
  13. I, before Walpurgis Nacht, remember another awesome player in the Rumblings of War (RoW) Tournament: Leonard Dickens - I think his alias was Wreck. Treeburst155 could help my memory out here. He, as well as WN, could play any hand that he was dealt with in scenario's. The mark of a true great player. Reading Leonard's AAR's was very instructive. In essence, know your force weaknesses, and to know your opponents' implies recon, recon and more recon before you could exploit it. And Jesse's (WN) maxim is relevant. Only fire/attack a unit if you can destroy it. Completely.
  14. Interesting indeed John. Reputable website? Has anyone ordered from them on the forum? I guess I could "test order" at $10.00 (ex-freight) on PayPal/Credit Card.
  15. At least in spirit I'll be there. Of the %-kind.
  16. Jesse, Official line run as follows: TNT International broke one bottle in the consignment. This damaged the labels of the other wine bottles. Wine are being send back to South Africa. The wine is insured (via my freight forwarder, Vineyard Connection). The latter will replace and re-send. Roger that?
  17. Let me follow it up WN. Will report back hopefully with a TNT tracking number at www.tnt.com. This is obviously not updated below from their website: Consignment Reference # 911052 Pick up date 16 Feb 2006 Destination New York Delivery Date Date Time Location Status 21 Feb 2006 14:30 New York Jfk Airport Onforwarded For Delivery 20 Feb 2006 20:50 New York Jfk Airport Released From Customs 20 Feb 2006 16:21 New York Jfk Airport Released From Customs 19 Feb 2006 14:00 New York Jfk Airport Customs Clearance In Progress 18 Feb 2006 19:00 New York Jfk Airport Potential Connection Delay 17 Feb 2006 15:13 Johannesburg Consignment Received At Transit Point 17 Feb 2006 02:45 Johannesburg Import Received 16 Feb 2006 20:53 Cape Town Shipped From Originating Depot 16 Feb 2006 15:52 Cape Town Consignment Received At Transit Point Let me investigate. 18. Can an Osprey capture enemy vehicles this way? </font>
  19. Sacrilege! A bottle of vino lasts 3-4 days between me and the missus. With food. Golden rule: don't use/abuse what you push. Sex, drugs, women, rock & roll and the % indicator on certain bottles => vices of mankind. You will always make decent money plying these trades. I should expand...
  20. Send me an e-mail (in profile) and I'll see what I can do to clarify it for you. Sincerely, Charl Theron
