1. Oh boy, holier than thou Meeks is back. I am so chucked full of joy at this I think I will go and take a dump. . . . . Ahhh.. That's better. Now where was I? Oh yes, Meeks is back. Well, now that our collective IQ has takin' a hit I think it would be proper for a challenge old dear friend (Yuck, spit, gag). No doubt you got bored eating peanuts and wanking off to National Geographic magazines, so send a setup my way and I will fill your life with self-loathing. You fuzzy misanthropic sod. Jeff ------------------
2. LORAK! My good man. A tomb update for you. Hiram - LOSER! Sha! jshandorf- Winner. Oh yeah, baby. The score was like 98-2. Hiram couldn't stand the complete drubbing I was giving him so he surrendered on like the 15 turn. Poor sod. Jeff ------------------
3.
quote:
Originally posted by Germanboy: Shandorf - after chomping at the leash he has now decided to never return a file to me. Bad bad Shandorf, but I assume that he is just overawed at my superior learning, beauty and my general presence. He knows one good trick how to win though. Set up the game, but don't tell your opponent whether he has to attack, defend or whether it is an ME.

Well, if you weren't some half-baked sodding git that can't keep track of his e-mails you would have realized when I sent the original setup I sent you the parms. As for you your latest accusation I resent the file and you pulled you head out of your arse and found it. BTW playing the movie from the first turn it may have been a good thing for you NOT to "find" the file I sent you. 4.
quote:
Originally posted by rvalle: So, I played the demo a couple of times with a friend, both battles ending in a draw, and buy the full version of the game. What is the first thing you do? Challenge Fionn Kelly to a battle of course! I have read a couple of his aar's and I have gleaned some information: 1: He is really good! 2: I'm going to get crushed What the heck... how else can you find out how good you are right? He suggested that I talk to you guys as he has played (and beaten he says) most of you here. He also says that you guys are 'the only guys on that forum worth a damn'. I have the tiger by the tale... how do I survive? Heck, how do I do good enough to make Fionn respect me in the morning? Its going to be: a village, moderate woods, moderate hills, I'll be the Germans, he'll be the Germans. 3000 points for the defender, 4500 for the attacker. A 900msomething wide map, maybe 1.5 km deep. I think I'm attacking as he says that will give me enough troops to attack three times before I run out of troops. Any suggestions? One of the main things I'm worried about is that I have never played a battle where I have to buy my own troops. What should I buy? Fionn.. no peaking! Richard [This message has been edited by rvalle (edited 01-06-2001).]

Richard, First 3 words. You are screwed. Now with that aside lets talk about what you need to do. Since Fionn will put up a very good defense one suggestion I have is try to outlast him. What I mean by this is buying more troops then he has bullets for. Buy at least 1-2 companies of green rifle 45s and use then as your "first wave" so to speak. Root out his defenses and try and cut off any avenues he may use to reinforce his defenses. Then come in with the "Regular" troops. You should be able to afford about a battalion of these. I.E 3 companies. Before your second wave comes in make sure you soften up any hard points with your arty. I recommend 150mm-170mm for the tough nuts and 105mm-120mm for the softer points. Also in that first wave you are going to need to sacrifice a coupe AFVs to root out his gun emplacements. Once you locate them destroy them with the arty or bring in your reserve/better armor to knock it out. Another suggestion is to attack hard and quick on the second wave because Fionn is going to drop ALOT of arty on you so keep moving. One last thing. The only thing Fionn fears is arty so MAX IT OUT and use it on him. Good luck. Jeff ------------------
5. LORAK! My good man... Please record the follow: ME: WIN Seanchai: LOSS (A pathetic AI surrender) Yes, Seanchai was begging for turns in advance for the computer to auto-surrender him and he finally got his wish. It think the score was like 80-something to 17... Sigh.... Crushed beneath my boot I would have to say. Jeff ------------------ [This message has been edited by Shandorf (edited 12-27-2000).]
6. Awesome, Matt. Santa better have been good to you! Hey, I have noticed a problem with your Chatroom over there at CMHQ. People are having a problem with long delays in loging in. You noticed it yet? Jeff ------------------
7. Okay... Let me restate the situation again...*sigh* NO unit fired at them the WHOLE time. They were OK! the whole time. I never touch them i.e. retargeted etc.... It weird.. They just sat there reloading for a minute and a half. BTW I didn't get upset. I just hate it when people try to compare real life situations to a little digital bazooka guy in the game. Jeff
8. Whoa! Lets get the muzzle and chain back on you Seanachai! Bad dog! He really does like strangers. I don't know what came over him. To your kennel..err.. I mean pool! Lay down! Bad dog! Jeff
9. All, i was using a mortar HT for the first time today when I played the Americans. My question is... Do Mortar HTs need to point thier rear ends at the target they are firing on? I ask because the HT in question kept swinging anround and facing it's rear when I would tell it to rotate to face forward. Thanks, Jeff
10. Madmatt, Maybe there is a problem whereas tanks are treating all infantry as possible AT teams and therefore smoking them? Jeff
11.
quote:
Originally posted by Madmatt: If this all in V1.1 then rest assured that I have been giving Charles a mouthfull about this smoke issue all night long! Madmatt [This message has been edited by Madmatt (edited 12-03-2000).]

Matt, Yeah this is the 1.1 version. I don't know about all the other complaints going on but I do have a movie you can check out to show what I am talking about. Other than the anomaly I pointed out I have seen nothing else to "displease" me about the 1.1 patch. Jeff
12. Hey guys, I am noticing VERY strange behavior displayed by my tanks. The problem is they shoot smoke rounds when I have them target infantry in buildings. I have movie here where I have 2 STuHs and 1 Panther that fire a combined total of 10 smoke rounds at the infantry they are targeting when they have 15+ rounds of HE each. Eventually they MIGHT fire a HE round but most of the time they stop targeting cause they obviously obscure the target in smoke. I could understand when they are getting 5 rounds or lower in HE ammo but not when they have 15-20 rounds of HE each. Jeff [This message has been edited by Shandorf (edited 12-02-2000).]
13. Hey Steve, Some times in some really heavy games with lots of arty going off I lose the sound of other events on the battle field such as MG fire, or small arms fire and other sounds. I have a Pentium III 600 MHz with a Creative Labs Live sound card. Thanks, Jeff
14. Ahhhhh.. The feeling of victory.... "Why does he say that?" You ask yourself, no? Because I just STOMPED Hiram into the ground. Even though my stupid Sherman and bazooka teams were worthless my infantry shined the way to his innards and I gutted Hiram with a spoon. His men were like baby harp seals. Oh, how I clubbed the helpless little creatures as Hiram the mother sat by powerless to stop me. Sigh... And oh yes... TCP/IP rocks! Now I must go and bask in my glory.... Did I mentioned he surrendered? Muahahahaha! Jeff
15.
quote:
Originally posted by Hiram Sedai: 18:00 is 6:00 PM, ya bonehead. Way to be wimpy. How about 2000 hours?

Argh! 20:00 hours EST is fine with me. That would be 7:00pm CST. correct? See ya then, Jeff
16. Lorak!!! My good man! Do not forget to post my win over Meeks. jshandorf - WIN Meeks - Lose. Jeff
17. Eeegahds! I forgot to send Hairy Butt his turn. I remember watching the movie.. Hmmm Oops! He must be sweating a river over there. Probably has a rubber mat under his chair to keep the floor dry. Anyway... GAME UPDATE! The great (in his mind) Leeks was defeated by me. Thought his forces were few they were crack troops and my scrappy regulars were able to force his surrender. A major blunder on his part was placing a 150mm arty gun deeps in the woods. The poor bastards were to afraid to fire the gun in fear of killing themselves! I am sure he will be here soon to cry foul, but alas I have claimed a Major victory. Lorak my good man! Oh such a noble and true knight, update these standings. Meeks- LOOOOOOOOOOSER! ME - The winner! (Pumping arms and hopping in a circle) I am tired. I must go and sleep the sleep of the righteous. Jeff
18. Hey... BTW where the hell is Chewy and Mr. Leaks? Did they...*gasp* drown? Jeff
19. My game updates... Chup-pa-dup: You puzzle me with your insistence that things are going well for you when they obviously are not. Put that Guinness down when you send me my turns and take of those cheap 3D glasses. Leaks(and other Scottish veggies): I move on you but at great cost. I am waiting for your last little trick, or that Umpah band, which either one comes first. Herr Ooobutt:Wasn't that first turn pretty thrilling? Damn can those Amis vehicles boogie! Hope your men aren't too tired by the time they get to the town! Ha! Sean-a-Hoochi-Koochi:Hey... Get that tank moving. I gotta get some elevation measurements and it is blocking my view! The strip mall's anchor store is going there. Cruuud-da... Me thinks he mopes now. Licking his wounds and making them fester even more. Come back outside and play, Cruud-da. I promise I'll use a lighter bat. Jeff
20. Idiot-running-free, I see you don't not approve of my tactic in our battle. Too bad. I have my reasons and it will soon be all too clear for even someone as feeble minded as you. So sit back and sweat you gimpy monkey-boy. Jeff
21. Now.. For the updates of my other games. Wussafies: I am not attacking you I am clearing that land for my developers who want to put in a brand new strip mall. Unfortunately your troops are in the way. Chewy: You hairy, bone lipped, heathen. You move like a herd of turtles stampeding through peanut butter you sorry SOB. Get the lead out of your ass. Beeks: I am going to make you pay for every inch of ground you defend. I hope you die gagging on your own spittle and blood. Oh and Lorak my infested friend... Chalk up my win and Croda's humbling lose. Jeff [This message has been edited by Shandorf (edited 11-03-2000).]
22. Croda you sick man... Kneel before Zod. I have boot stomped your pathetic little girly man frame into the ground. Come here and beg for mercy and admit your defeat. Jeff
23.
quote:
Originally posted by Chupacabra: And Look at Life, Herbie, A Man and His Car, The Emperor, Anyone Lived In a Pretty How Town, 6-18-67, Filmmaker, and THX 1138, if you're being specific

And the million dollar question is??? Did anybody know about those flms before you posted them...? Nope. Why? Cause they sucked. I think I am seeing a connection here... Jeff
24. (Smack...Smack...Smack...Smack...) Hark! What is that sound? Could it beeee? Nooooo, it can't be! Not Croda over my knee while I give his ass the old "what for"! (Smack...Smack..."ahhh let me get my belt. I want to make some permanent scars".. Thaaawap! Thaaaawap! Thaaaawap! "Ahh, yes much better". I can see his scrawny behind give way to my powerful strokes! (Not THOSE kind of strokes, Bauhaus!). Croda... When will you admit defeat. Your men are dying. They run to and fro yet they go nowhere but to their deaths. Do you REALLY think that Sherman will help you now? Hmmmm? Ahhh but alas you can't back up. My Stug awaits to embrace him. Go forward you say? hmmm? Yes, into the arms of my Panzerfaust! Let my troops embrace you and bring you the death you long for. It won't hurt... I swear. Jeff [This message has been edited by Shandorf (edited 10-26-2000).]
