  1. Hi lads As for the Jagdpanther...i hope to have it finished for a deadline sometime today..then it is off to the MAN Hoping to have it in the next CMMOS update Zitadelle....regarding the Tiger and the Dancing Gnome....i was only experimenting with that insignia..and it wiill not be included in the CMBO release as i want to include it in the CMBB pack. Thanks for the advice in the placement. As a "Tiger Nut" i care about historical accuracy as well re Tiger variants and markings . All i need now is to find some time to make my 1/16th scale Tamiya Tiger I ( static + Aber PE set ) Now for the bad news...the CMBB Tigers are different to the CMBO models.....it would require ALOT of scrunching and munching..and even then it would be difficult to get a proper cammo match..besides the fact that the CMBB Tigers have more bmps than the CMBO...and i have to do those too. So the plan is..once i regain my "mod lust" i will adapt my plain yellow base and make new apporiate bmps for the various Tigers. Ihope to do all the Tiger units that seen service on the Eastern front...*gulp* It will take some time..but not as long as what the CMBO Tigers did ( 9 months ). Jagcommander.....i have another project i want to do before mb trying the Hummel/Nashorn ..sorry ..but then again i can never tell what i will end up doing Thanks for the kind words of encouragement regards Måkjager [ September 17, 2002, 08:43 AM: Message edited by: Måkjager ]
  2. Hello lads... i am still lurking in the land of CMBO Below is a link that should bring you to 2 pix of a long lost and almost forgotten dirty winter Jagdpanther mod. Its near done...no options just plain auld wear and tear web page now..what next indeed Regards Måkjager
  3. AFAIK most if not all of the Porsche turreted KTs were lost on the Western Front..though one or two did survive combat there to see use in Hungry.......likely hood of BFC including 1 or 2 Porsche KTs is small. Regards Måkjager
  4. I would actually prefer one of these    Regards Måkjager
  5. BMP mirrioring is still a fact for th vast majority of the vehicles...there are one or two that do have a seperate turrets side though. There ARE grey and dark yellow versions of the same vehicles though to reflect the time difference in the war. The same vehicle exhibit A will look no different to its brother exhibit A ( ie in tank platoons ) as there is just not enough time to code for different vehicles and no time to make new textures. Dan has been swamped these last months working his arse off trying to get the really important vehicles ready for the release. It would be nice to be able to have different cammoed vehicles..but i think that subject is for the future when we all have and use DVD in our computers regards Måkjager
  6. Yep..people ..bogging is not just a case of "my tank got stuck in soft earth" but also an abstraction of things like failed transmissions , thrown tracks , failing and broken track pins , broken links etc. We are having our preconceptions regarding combat on the Eastern front challenged once again Crapola happens..things break and that is what you are seeing in an abstraced way via "bogging". regards Måkjager
  7. I am not best placed at all to comment about the quality comparison of the CMBO vs CMBB demo scenarios as i have never downloaded the CMBO demo. I bought CMBO on the strength of THAT pix with the Tiger / 251 HT , Infantry and the Church...yes i am THAT SHALLOW. I have enjoyed immensely the games that i have played in CMBO and have been fortunate enough to have been part of the beta team for CMBB. Steve has already stated his reasons for designing the CMBB demo scenarios the way he did so as to show case some ( if not most of the main aspects ) of what can be expected of CMBB. For me the CMBB demo can be likened to Ford or Volkswagen demo testing a new model on the road. I am sure you lads have seen pix of new cars not yet on sale or even in full scale production with those black coverings , yeah..its a car , it has 4 wheels but i wonder what it really looks like and what is actually under the hood. The CMBB demo scenarios are like that...they give a taste..a feel of what can be expected...except that with the full game you get more. BFC clearly state in their front page blurb that they are not after the twitch crowd...they aim to appeal to people who appreciate well researched and implemented tactical war games upon which you have to apply yourself to master. Yes , you can have fun playing and learning but if you really care about it you will chose to try and play in a realistic fashion..ie using real life tactics. As for CMBB and the scenarios to be included i can vouch for one in particular. I had to play it 14 times against the AI before i was able finally to twig where i was going wrong and stop having my backside being handed to the slicer....i may have been be slow to cotton on to the fact i was making mistakes but i learned a lesson.....and that lesson is CMBB is NOT CMBO ......CMBB is what CMBO SHOULD have been had BFC had the time and resources to implement it...but they did not and the rest as they say is history. CMBB is a new ball game which may discommode some people out of the comfort zone in how they approach playing CM , but that discomfort is necessary as it will allow you to grow as a player of the game once you decide you are willing to learn. I love eyecandy....but i love great game play better now and CMBB is fulfilling of that need. I think somebody mentioned that not much was happening in a 10 min period when they were showing it to some friends. To me personally that time span would have conveyed tension and the question of just what is out there...and can it hurt my forces. I now look at the lie of the land and begin to worry when nothing happens as i know it is only a matter of time before hurt arrives..but from where , that is the question that plays on my mind when engaged in combat vs the AI or a fellow CM’er. The new orders , the well researched TOE , different units and weapons combined with new weather and terrain make CMBB a deeper immersive envoirment than CMBO that i for one do not want to leave. CMBB presents new challenges to us all on our preconceptions on WW2 combat and of how to play the game. It may not meet some peoples expectations , but after some time i think it may exceed a great deal many others. Just this morning i arrived home from night shift looking forward to a game i am playing with a fellow beta tester. I was worried sick about my only armour asset worth speaking of that had been caught dead with its pants down by a Soviet KV. It overlooked my Stug from the brow of a hill and began to fire some shots off at the Stug which looked like it was going to catch a 76 in the smacker. With a little bit of *luck* the KV missed with the few shots it fired but then had to retreat due to the presence of 2 squads i had previously ordered to advance on ( KV ) and try take out. Thanks to Charles for the vehicle morale code i still mb have a Stug to employ in my attack on the Russian line. I full well understand that many of the old hands do care deeply about CM ( same for the welcome newbies ) and want to see it succeed for BFC so as we get the chance to see and play the next addition to the CM stable , but making judgement on CMBB THE GAME and thinking of not buying it due to the CMBB demo scenarios that were designed for a specific purpose does not help the situation at all as you will be missing out on something that is ahead in terms of game play to CMBO. Among the beta team there are some if not all of the best scenario designers who have worked their socks off making varied , interesting and challenging scenarios which showcase as best possible within the confines of a electronic game some close semblance of what combat was like on the Eastern Front and these have given BFC plenty of great games to be included on the final cd. BFC are to be commended on the work they have and continue to do in brining as realistic and historically accurate as possible with in the confines of time , resources , research information and sheer stamina games that allow us to have fun and use our brains at the same time ( if you choose to do so ) Either BFC are doing somfink right in that i have bought 2 games other than CM ( + beta testing CMBB ) over the last 4 years neither of which has the same hold over my imagination or in fact i am actually quite mad and deranged Best of luck to BFC with CMBB and get Steve back in front of his mac....us shareholders dont like slackers Regards Måkjager
  8. Gary...the Tiger Is are out of my hands now....and in the fiendish possesion of the GordonMeister Regards Måkjager
  9. Danzig , use the ATRs to get the Pzs to button up and keep em occupied while the TH team does its stuff. Try coordinate a good ambush position with where you think the Pzs may pass by and then unleash the pain. regards Måkjager
  10. Gary..have you thought of using Western Union via the Post Office to wire the $$ to one of your pbem mates? I have not used it myself but i have heard it is a quick and easy way of sending money around the world. Regards Måkjager
  11. Just ordered my combo set for the mac...ah yes...up to the attic for safe keeping only to be brought down in the years to come as evidence that YES game companies DID know how to make proper games back then Matt...just make sure you dont squander your share Regards Måkjager
  12. Expect LOTS of Tigers et al big bigger and biggest in the next CMMOS update regards Måkjager
  13. Cover /Armour ARC's also come in very handy for tank platoon advances as you can give each tank a sector to watch as they move / hunt forward Regards Måkjager
  14. A tank will also sometimes fire on a target OUTSIDE the cover /armour arc if it considers it a real threat ..ie if the target approaches the arc so as it is just outside. Regards Måkjager
  15. Andrew..as the "MAN " once said taking your time is time well spent I understand that you have a hectic job and it amazes me the level of detail and work that you are able to implement seeminlgy quite quickly Dont change a thing regards Måkjager

Best regards Måkjager
  17. Achtung Achtung zee Tigger project is kaput!!!! ( my bit anyways ) Yep..just finished the last of the RedBrown Tiger I files....now being sent to the wrapper I have added a pix of a zimmer covered Tiger with the Charging Knight emblem of the 505th sPz Abt ( YES i know it only seen action on the Eastern front..but i am allowed one piece of artistic licence ) web page All the tri /green /redbrown Tiger's contain files to represent plain / zimmerit / mid production / late production / no unit / sSS-101 / kill rings - also with 4 sets of rear turret number markings ( 3 of which can be used for Herr Wittman ). I am bushwacked after all of this But i think the end results were worth the 9 months of effort , sleepless nights and days on end stuck in front of my mac. AFAIK there willl also be snow covered and whitewashed versions and mb a Hasty one too All versions will be CMMOS compatible thanks to our good and cherished Dr Molek who does such a fantastic job looking after all the needs of the many sick patients found in this community Thanks for the kind words of encouragement these past months and if it makes just ONE person happy then i can claim a good job well done Best regards Måkjager typo fixed at 2.27am GMT [ August 28, 2002, 09:27 PM: Message edited by: Måkjager ]
  18. Hey lcm1947....i would dare say i am a fair bit slower than the good St.Andrew who has most kindly provided us all with outstanding mods. So slow in fact that i am now near to giving birth to the Tiger mods seeing as it is coming up to 9 months work. Good news......the Tri- colour and Bi-Green are finished and have been sent off for CMMOS wrapping and the application of snow (pssst dont ask when of the good Mr Snowflake as he is busy ) Bi-Redbrown ....well tomorrow is another day that i will spend in the Mod Mines working my fingers to pieces I have to sort out some wear and tear , zimmerit , weathering effects , pinkee killing , resizing , renaming etc. So..thats it for the moment....all things going to plan and with a lil bit of luck ( ie a large BRIBE ) it may make it into the next CMMOS release. Thank you all kindly for your words of encouragement..appreciate it Regards Måkjager
  19. Captn....they are all still WIP at the moment as far as i have to reduce them in size ( Bi Green / Tri colour) and get them CMMOS'ed. There will be some tedious clean ups to be done..i leave that to the last..its yukky work Bi Brown requires some more attention / zimmerit etc. Regards Måkjager
  20. Fret not fellow CM'ers who like the Autumn look. Just started to do the RB Tiger. web page Regards Måkjager
  21. The Brotherhood of Mod is alive and kicking Good on ye Gordon regards Måkjager
  22. Al...BUSY Dont fret.....CMBO is not finished once CMBB is released. Things still to do Regards Måkjager
  23. Well...not wanting to lose any sleep due to the worry of CM'ers gnashing teeth i got around to doing a tri colour Tiger I mod. The link below i *HOPE* will bring you to my page where u can have a gander at the hi res Tiger that is under development . I have begun to apply zimmerit to the bi and tri colour versions..gotta work up the red brown as soon as i get the time. The vehicles will also come with no zimmerit applied..mb as a seperat mod as i am worried over the file size..i dont want people fretting over download times ... but as is at the moment there are near 32 seperate bmps in each folder for those who like to mix and match. The pix with the 2 Tigers shows off the rear turret number of a vehicle that was "used" by Michael Wittman of sSS Pz Abt 101 in Normandy 1944...so you lads can have some fun in Viller's Bocage. web page Regards Måkjager ps..give the pix a moment or 3 to load second tri pix seems to only half load..sorry
  24. lcm1947... Ian is correct . I bought a Apple Dual 800mhz proc G4 last August with a OEM nVidia GF 3 card sporting 64MB of VRAM and a Gig of ram . I thought..YEAH..this should make me happy..and i was..sort of until i opened my eyes to eye candy on other guys computers. What i noticed between my setup and theirs was that my vehicles seemed to suffer from a slight blur .. they were not crystal clear. It was confirmed to be via Marco Bergmann who sent me a pix of the Tiger mod i am working on. On the actual Photoshop bmp;s i had great detail that was nice and clear..but yet "in house" with my G4 /nVidia GF3 it looked muddy..the details were not a distinct as i knew i had made them. I sent off the mod to Marco who sent me back a pix and lo and behold all the detail was there. Marco was and is using a 8MB Vanta TNT 2 card ( afaicr) and the clarity on it mad me gasp...when compared to the crap i had to look at after paying out a lot of money to have the card. Originally i wanted the Radeon but Apple discontinued them in their G4 ( around the time ATI dropped the ball and let a cat out of the bag which Steve Jobs did not take kidly to ). I got a chance earlier this year to pick up a 32MB OEM Radeon from OWC and the difference it made was ten fold ( in that i could now see my work in all its intended clarity). So in future unless nVidia get their act together i will be sticking with ATI products. regards Måkjager
