1. oooh, a genuine Eddy Bauer even. Very posh. It'll be the best-dressed book on the shelf. ------------------ I remember it perfectly: The Germans wore grey; you wore blue...
 2. I for one would like to see the Panzerbefelswagen and its allied counterpart, the OP Tank, included, even if only at Battalion and higher levels. The usefulness of these vehicles would be greater if Armoured units had C&C links as infantry do now. ------------------ I remember it perfectly: The Germans wore grey; you wore blue...
 3. Specifically, the churches in CM lack a transept. Then again, I wouldn't have even noticed if you hadn't mentioned it, Squire Luffers. Bloody peasant... ------------------ I remember it perfectly: The Germans wore grey; you wore blue...
 4. Doug, You go stand/lie/take position over there in that...(insert cover of choice here). I'll stay over here and fire an assortment of LATWs at you. You let me know if you're suppressed, k? ------------------ I remember it perfectly: The Germans wore grey; you wore blue...
 5. hotkey issue? ------------------ I remember it perfectly: The Germans wore grey; you wore blue...
 6. So do I qualify? Puhleeeeeeeze? ------------------ I remember it perfectly: The Germans wore grey; you wore blue...
 7. It is also a tactic with flamethrowers to first douse a target with unignited fuel, then kick in the flame. If the pillbox is (and why wouldn't it be?) filled with fumes... blammo - instant fuel-air bomb. ------------------ I remember it perfectly: The Germans wore grey; you wore blue...
 8. I've seen a pretty respectable mix of anywhere from one to all surviving. The curve seems to peak at 1 or 2 casualties. ------------------ I remember it perfectly: The Germans wore grey; you wore blue...
 9. It is a little-known fact that uncovering the magic heart under the church will make all your shermans into sherman jumbos for three turns.... Not... ------------------ I remember it perfectly: The Germans wore grey; you wore blue...
 10. Speaking of Tank Destroyers, I must have read I don't know how many articles about the German JgPz 38(t) Hetzer, and not one of them mentioned that its inspiration was this fellow: It's a Rumanian design circa early '42. Some were built, but it didn't do well on tests. It mounted a 122mm Howitzer or a 75mm AT gun. Despite its poor showing, its advancements are obvious, particularly compared to the German offerings of the day. It's too bad gems like these get overlooked in the histories. I'd never heard of it before today and I consider myself at least passingly familiar with the important vehicles of the time. ------------------ I remember it perfectly: The Germans wore grey; you wore blue...
 11. Although I am no longer an officer of the court, my Commission for Taking Affidavits does not expire for another year and a half -- do I still qualify? ------------------ I remember it perfectly: The Germans wore grey; you wore blue...
 12. The S Tank was one of the first plastic models I built as a small boy. I was fascinated by the way the gun was aimed by moving the chassis up and down. Here's a cutaway pic for the uninitiated: And a an exterior photo: ------------------ I remember it perfectly: The Germans wore grey; you wore blue...
 13. Oops my bad. Right. If the mortars don't move, no LOS is needed. See, I always end up moving them, hence my confusion... ------------------ I remember it perfectly: The Germans wore grey; you wore blue...
 14. "Lo, and there was great rejoicing in Hamsterdom. 'Let the enemies of mine people be scattered like wood shavings,' spake the Lord; 'Let their pellets drop no more upon my people'; and lo there was singing, and Kitty was presented with a golden wheel by the adoring people..." Hamsterpawdicus, 12:14 ------------------ I remember it perfectly: The Germans wore grey; you wore blue...
 15.
quote:
Originally posted by Captitalistdoginchina: Can you use the TRP for onboard mortars and Spotters? or only for Spotters?

Both.
quote:
Do you have to have LOS to the TRP?

onboard mortars will need LOS. However, if they are in command of a HQ unit, only the HQ needs LOS.
quote:
Do you need to have a HQ unit with LoS?

No, unless the HQ is spotting the onboard mortars.
quote:
I read somewhere that you must not move your spotter/mortar unit from their start location otherwise the TRP will not work - is this correct?

The spotter may move. Onboard mortars, once moved, will lose the benefit of the TRP
quote:
Is there any maximum range?

No.
quote:
Is there a limit to the size of the Arty that can be called into a TRP? Min or Max?

No.
quote:
Does it help with the woefull inacuracy of Rockets?

Don't know. Probably not. ------------------ I remember it perfectly: The Germans wore grey; you wore blue...
 16. Chance Encounter takes place in wet conditions. Avoid fast moves except on roads. ------------------ I remember it perfectly: The Germans wore grey; you wore blue...
 17. Oh it's very sad. Very sad. Must we pick from three such patent losers? It's like election time in Canada. However... I cannot endorse Mannheim Tanker. His nick is too masculine, too testosterone charged. Clearly he has an inflated sense of himself. It's his sort that stomp and oppress all the gentle little Babras of the world. Nix on him. And Foobar? Can we really vote for someone who cannot spell Fubar? He is a mere gerbil among hamsters, not worthy of consideration. May his cage never be changed. And so, by process of elimination, I must cast my ballot for short-barrelled Mark IV. Oh, how I despise him. Although he seems poised to go down in history as the first German in 200 years to lose to the French, he has clearly shown he is still better than a lawyer. I suppose God is in his heaven after all... ------------------ I remember it perfectly: The Germans wore grey; you wore blue...
 18. No need for drastic measures. ------------------ I remember it perfectly: The Germans wore grey; you wore blue...
 19. I'd love to get the Sherman. The chances of me being seen within ten blocks of a Toys R Us between now and Christmas is, however, slim to none. I've already seen the elephant -- I like life too much! ------------------ I remember it perfectly: The Germans wore grey; you wore blue...
 20.
quote:
Originally posted by Hun Hunter: Giving the Brits and Frogs the chance to save themselves, guess we should have known that wasn't going to happen based on previous experience

Oh yeah. That's how it happened. For a while I was under the misconception that the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbour and Germany declared war on the US. Thanks for the heads-up ------------------ I remember it perfectly: The Germans wore grey; you wore blue...
 21.
quote:
Originally posted by Maximus: Oh wait, you live in Canada. That's right, Canada only cares 'aboot' Canada. The whole world could be on the brink of destruction and as long as Canadian soil isn't involved, they could care less. Does the phrase, "Isolationist China" mean anything to ya?

Well, that is just patently false. What we don't care about is American politics.
quote:
I'll tell you what. If the United States didn't care what was going on in Europe during the early '40s, what kind of mess would the world be in right now?

So where were you in '39 (and '40... and '41...) ------------------ I remember it perfectly: The Germans wore grey; you wore blue...
 22. DEF. GM got their order a week ago. Maybe if you'd shared that TWO weeks ago, it would be insider trading ------------------ I remember it perfectly: The Germans wore grey; you wore blue...
 23. During my brief and misguided foray into the world of the insane, riding on the exterior of vehicles (even the ones with roomy interiors) was standard practice anywhere off-base. It is difficult, but you get used to it pretty quick. There are a surprising number of things to hang onto in an emergency - even if it is only each other. My most extreme moment was when the Zelda (M113) I was on did a "hard-astarboard" maneuver, descended into the ditch at the side of the road and fairly launched itself up the other side. Only one rifle out of nine was lost in this unannounced maneuver, and no passengers. ------------------ I remember it perfectly: The Germans wore grey; you wore blue...
 24. Ave Kitty! Te Hamsteturi Salutant (We who are about to Hamster, salute you!) Oh, I just love that insignia too... ------------------ I remember it perfectly: The Germans wore grey; you wore blue... [This message has been edited by Formerly Babra (edited 11-18-2000).]
