Obviously, the AI beat the crap out of him and he is about to overcome this post-traumatic effect by posting trolly stories. Seems to me that his running the game in software graphic mode or on a 486er. His reply to me hurts, really! I think I'm wounded Ow my Gawd, I've lost me leg! Actually i feared the worst when this thread appeared ont the top of the board but it seems that all people posting here are up for a serious discussion which i don't want to miss. Were to start? So many things to say but still fighting with the language... When you ask how the germans feel today ( i.e. the younger generation) you have to keep in mind that there was no public discussion about WW2 in germany for about 25 years after the war was over. The generation who participated and survived the war was just to busy to survive in and rebuild a country which laid in ashes and tried to forget what happened. When the first post war generation growed up, there were quite interested about the involvement of their parents in the Nazi regime and have to find out that even high ranking leaders in politic, economy, universties, etc. had something of a "black" history. It was a very special kind of generation conflict which results in nothing productive as the Younguns vilified the oldies in general and the latter ones refused to discuss that matter any further. This was really a missed opportunity and i think our country is still in a somewhat bad condition because it failed to start or even finish a fruitless debate about it's own recent history. So back to your questions: The conflict was one of the greatest BS that ever happened to humanity and i don't think that the major part of the oldies are anti-american or are still Nazis. Actually my Panther was killed in VoT by "weak spot" hits several times. Don't had any hits which showed " shot trap" or so but I bet it was actually one.

Hey Manieri, do not make any nonsense, ok! This forum will loose one of it's major attractions and some of those guys around here will be at a great loss ( what should they do if they could not reply to your topics anymore). Fire up a good old GD PBEM and send me your file. This will keep you busy until tomorrow when you'll get the game ( even if it costs me one more night).

You probably get a side shot and the Panther is very vulnerable there ( 45mm side turret and between 40 or 50mm side hull armour). Attacking a Panther frontally with your pesky Shermans with the short barrelled 75mm guns is quite another matter: even at very short range you have to hit a weak spot for a penetration hit. That you hit the Panther with your Sherman at full speed was due to extreme luck or devine intervention.

That would be cool! A close friend is from Greece and very interested in the fighting that took place there in WW2. Whenever we talk about that topic he quickly mentios the "Metaxa Line" where the Greek army performs an desperate holding action against the axis assault. I keep doing a bit of mocking then "Ahh, Metaxa-Line. Is it where the Cognac comes from?" AFAIK, BTS is planing a CM version which covers the early stages of WW2 (probably CM3 or 4)where many minor countries were involved.

No vacation for me. I tried a workaround that proved to be successful to some degree: A small accident at work "bought" me two days off. Talk about bad timing, it will take some days before my cheque arrives at BTS and probably even weeks before it is verified and my game starts to ship. Will I be the last one on this forum who recieves his copy? Why is the morning program on german TV so cruel ( currently on air in a Talkshow " My guinea-pig is depressed"? Will anyone play the GD scenarios with me while i wait for my Copy? Who was Luke Skywalkers mother? Questions over questions. What a monday to start the week! At least it seems I'm not alone with that problem. I never managed to fire a Panzerfaust with a normal infantry squat at a tank when there were some infantry targets available. Attacking a tank which is supported by infantry seems not to be a clever tactic in general, i think. ------------------ Es gibt Tage da verliert man und Tage da gewinnen die anderen.

If they had barbed wire and minefields around your school you won't have been successful with your "Quick Dash" strategy. Have you done some proper scouting? What if there was an AT pillbox around? Ok Do search enter "Leaders" and set the parameters to "Subjekt only" and search in "Combat Mission". There are only four or five headlines. Hope this helps Schugger

Sage<HR></BLOCKQUOTE> Just guessing now: Regarding the Combat bonus you surly have noticed that a Veteran squat is far more better in engaging the enemy than a Green one, i.e. fires more often and so on. If the squat is in C&C of its platoon HQ with +1 Combat skill it performs one "pip" better than its experiance level. Same may be true for Moral: A veteran squat can become Crack or even (shocking) Elite if the HQ unit has that skill at +1 or +2. Regarding Command skill i'm a bit uncertain. The command range of a HQ unit is increased and probably the squats are somewhat faster when they respond to your orders ( if in C&C ). Stealth? Think that this skill affects the capability of a squat to move around the battlefield unseen by enemy units.
